It looks very good… for a TV special. Not bad per se. It just looks a bit gimmicky.

AT AT

Razer Crest

Vulture Droid

New Republic Y-Wing

Stormtrooper Battlepack (please!!!)

Iron Man Mk1 knockoff mech

Buildable Anzellan

Those are my bets.

For me it looks a little bit to goofy. Not bad but also I'm not really exited. Nice to see the U-Wing again and I hope Lego does something special with the ship but I guess not.

I’m still not convinced that this has the cinematic quality befitting a theatrical release rather than just releasing Mando Season 4, but all the same I respect that Lucasfilm aren’t trying to market this film as anything other than a fun, pulpy adventure.

I do wish Mando’s new ship was something brand new rather than another Razor Crest though. Can’t get enough of new ship designs in Star Wars and the New Republic-era vehicles we’ve seen (especially in Ahsoka) have generally been excellent.

Getting a Vulture Droid next year would be awesome, it’d provide some nice synergy with the film and finally give a CIS ship for our clone vehicles to actually dogfight against.

@BrickBob Studpants I totally concur on the nostalgic element of Rotta. Didn’t care for the character all that much but being a kid during the huge 2008 merchandise push for TCW (that initial release wave of Lego sets coinciding with the film still holds up well for its time IMO) really was something special.

I think TLG will use a design close to Galaxy of Heroes, which is the most modern depiction of the character.

If I could tweak it, though, I’d make her jumpsuit a simple black leather, rather than the mixed pattern of the GoH outfit. I agree with @Mandalorianknight’s point about her using tactical armor instead, but most people know the jumpsuit design, and it’s cleaner and simpler comparatively. I also think that sleeveless, for better or worse, is an iconic part of her look. (I remember how desperate I was for light nougat arms to complete my purist Mara.)
I like her tan scarf and googles; some people might want her Imperial look, but that’s less interesting in my opinion. Holster and belt should be reddish brown for a nice pop of colour as well.
As for her hair, some days I think she outta have classic LEGO red, while other days I’m okay with dark orange, however mute. Tomato soup/LCSP’24 orange would be the likeliest choice for TLG these days, and while that’s a nice medium, I believe it looks too cartoonish while feigning realism. I guess it doesn’t really matter so long as she doesn’t have a custom hair mold, though.

However she comes, whenever she comes, Mara Jade Brigade forever!

That's fair, and your figure would be good tw=oo. Only points I'd make are that the belt could be dark red, and that the tomato soup color is definitely a hair color real people have.

But yeah- really any figure would be excellent, unless it was the Vong war version in a generic robe with a blue saber.

I think it should be her black jumpsuit with printed scarf and tan Mando cape. That way it’s the more iconic suit and might generate more sales which may lead to another minifig with imperial armour down the line.

That would work well- though I'm not sure the jumpsuit vs armor would be all that different sales wise (If you haven't seen it, it's not like stormtrooper armor, it's very thin)- the jumpsuit and scarf is her iconic look. I hadn't thought of the printed scarf but that would work well.

In general, anniversary minifigs wouldn‘t make much sense to me since those are tied in with the anniversaries of the LEGO themes, not the franchises behind them. Your idea however would be an excellent way to celebrate the 50th anniversary! :sweet:

Thanks- I had a similar sentiment in my comment, but the Mcquarrie designs came to me as ones that would work well for the franchise as a whole.

I agree on the general point, but the Razor Crest was gone too soon and I'm glad they've fixed that mistake.

Just saw the trailer!
Gotta say, I quite like it. Lots of action and explosions and stuff, and Grogu seems to be stealing the show with his adorableness and humor again, I believe.
He also seems to be a lot more motionable? What's the right word here?
Anyway, I love it. I think I'll already see the movie just because of Grogu :innocent:

The problem is they do that with seemingly everything.

Grogu goes with Luke? -> BOBF reverses that.

Mando (seemingly) gets over his cultist ways -> nope, undone in S3

Razor crest destroyed? -> reversed in the movie

Gideon captured in s2? Only to escape off screen (I think?) with barely any consequence?

Owning the dark saber? Conveniently passed on.

It's jarring, if such crucial events bear no consequences, why even watch imo? It hits even harder now, after we got an incredible show with Emmy-winning writing.

I'm a bit excited we might finally get another stormtrooper battlepack and a Zeb minifigure. But other than that? This will probably be the first SW in my lifetime I won't go see in Cinema. Simply not worth my money, let alone my time away from home and my younglings.

Some other cool things in the M&G trailer are one of the Dejarik creatures (wouldn't surprise me if we got that as a buildable creature set) and something resembling Amanaman (would be good to get a minifigure of him for Jabba's Palace).

I wonder if LEGO knew about the U-wing showing up and whether that influenced them choosing it as one of the Andor S2 sets rather than making something new (such as the TIE AVENGER).

Maybe we'll see the Babu Frik mould reused.

You know what, at this point I wouldn't mind if Jyn & Cassian had survived Scarif after all and would return in another movie. Somehow I don't like all the storylines/movies/series set after the battle of Endor... the new trailer doesn't come even close to the atmosphere of Rogue One or Andor.

It does look like they've upped the tech on however they're doing Grogu, he feels a lot more alive, and doesn't look as CGI to me, so either it's practical effects or just really solid CGI.

I'm excited, it feels like a fun story.

Yeah season 3 was awful, but it's mistakes don't make the resurrection of the crest bad.

Yeah. It looks like a fun pulp-serial adventure movie, it's a good way to get star wars back in theatres.

We'll 100% see the Babu Frick mold again. I wouldn't be surprised if it played a role in why we got the mold in the first place.

As @icm says, they aren't trying to be Andor with this.

All I can see are fast starfighters with pronged wings. Could be Vulture Droids, but may as well be TIE Interceptors or a new type of ship

Also nice to see that the twins from TBOBF are back on the poster! Makes sense, since they‘re related to Rotta. Hopefully that means Krrsantan shows up too (if he‘s still working for them, that is)! I still want a minifig of his :excited:

As far as things somehow returning in Star Wars go, another Razor Crest is by far the instance that strains credibility the least, and is probably the least creatively bankrupt and easiest to explain of the storytelling decisions.

(Death Star --> Death Star II --> Starkiller Base --> Final Order fleet)

(Palpatine --> returned)

(How does Luke know how to build a lightsaber offscreen between ESB and ROTJ?)

(How does the Resistance rebuild and resupply offscreen between TLJ and TROS, when they literally have no ships, personnel, or materiel left at the end of TLJ?)

How does Din Djarin get another Razor Crest offscreen between Mando s3 and TMAG? He does some jobs, clears some cash for carbonite, and heads to a classic car auction.

My big hopes are, in order of both likelihood and how much I want them:

1. UCS Tantive IV. A flagship for the theme of the first ship we ever saw onscreen. As a bonus, while unlikely, either throw Rebel Friend in there or make him part of the GWP.

2. The definitive system X-wing and TIE fighter. I know, I know, we get them frequently. But seeing as they're on a three year rotation (I don't think anyone would count whatever the smart brick x-wing is as a legitimate contender any more than you'd count a 4+ set), we might as well go all-out. The 2018 models were excellent but oversized. The 2021 models got us back to the right scale, but had their own issues (DBG plates on TIE wings, the X-wing's rear fuseladge mashing up when in attack position). The 2024 models hit some really solid geometry updates, and we're close to greatness. To keep it fresh, though, maybe we throw in a turbolaser turret and exhaust port into the set.

3. Spacetroopers. Throw them into a new falcon, an imperial battle pack, a death star playset, I don't care. Just get me spacetroopers.

4. Dioramas/minifigure packs of the imperial conference room and rebel briefing room to get a full set of the imperial officers and rebel pilots respectively.

Interesting. Will it be a movie anniversary or saga anniversary? I was thinking the later but a full wave of sets for the original movie would be great too. I like the idea of Spacetroopers. And a Bantha please.

Yeah it really could be anything.

Interesting, maybe they've hired (I think this was in trades but not sure)

Spoiler

Embo to kill Rotta. It would make sense, since they were interested in taking power and Rotta represents a rival to Jabba's throne.

As for Black Krrsantan, I thought he was working with Boba now, but I wouldn't mind them having him return to the twins if it means we get a figure of him sometime soon.

Yup. Like you say, it's pretty clearly spelled out for us:

-Mando liked the Razor Crest

-While vintage, we hear multiple times that the Crest is not a unique ship.

-Mando routinely does high-paying work that requires a larger ship than a starfighter.

We're given incentive for him to buy a larger ship, motive for it to be a razor crest, and he has the means to do so. Even if it's not explained in the movie, they aren't asking for much of a leap from "Mando wants and can afford a product" to "Mando went and bought the product offscreen".

It's both, really, since it's the first movie so the start of the saga. Anyone's guess as to what lego goes with for now- I wouldn't be surprised if they did the "saga" more generally and all the system sets were clones again.

At first I thought the ships chasing the RCV2 could be TIE Avengers! But he lasers are the wrong color and the wings seem thinner.

Corrupt twin leaders who hold the throne while the rightful heir is fighting in gladiator pits.

Oh god. Rotta’s arc is just going to be Gladiator II: Hutt edition.

Lego. I pray you make a stormtrooper Battlepack for this movie. It’s been too long.

Same. I don't know how well it did- I never saw it on clearance, but I never really saw many to begin with- it's not unlikely my local retailers just didn't buy many copies.

Ah, I see.

Yup. We've gone through the vintage figs and a round of fan-favorite characters already. I'd honestly prefer if they keep the exclusive fig gimmick to the theme anniversaries and do something else for the franchise's 50th, but I also wouldn't mind throwing Legends characters in. Let's say it's 6 minifigures again, I could see us getting Mara/Kyle/Dash/Revan/Bastila/Abeloth or something. Or they could just go all-out on the set and figure design for a wave of killer ANH sets. A system cantina in line with the 2023 Yavin set could be awesome, or a few connecting Death Star room playsets.

Edit: I missed the obvious one, the one that needs to happen. For the 50th anniversary, we should get the mcquarrie designs. Luke/Vader/stormtrooper/Alien Han/C-3PO/Chewbacca or something.

In my location, it was discounted by the same amount as everything else was. So it's difficult to draw any conclusions from that.

Will never say no to more anniversary minifigures. In terms.of.filling the missing gapes,  it's s just too good of an opportunity to pass up on.

I would also love to see a Cantina play set again. For the same reason of adding a few more of those unique Alien characters.

This was and still is an awesome idea to do something special and out of the ordinary.

Well yeah, they have been so far. But since we haven't had a franchise anniversary that Lego eas celebrating since they introduced the so-called "bonus minifigures" for the 20th theme anniversary, who knows... maybe things are about to change. I would definitely welcome more minifigs for 2027.

I am inclined to agree. So many things are happening and hitting you only in the moment, but are completely course corrected at the very next chance, making it hard for me to truly care, because it just feels so inconsequential and irrelevant in the grand sheme of things. What should be more than a mere emotional moment, is undermined and reversed in what basically feels like the next scene.

Trailer is alright. Did neither increase nor decrease my hype for it. Still looking forward to some of the sets, though.

Aren't Battlepacks like 40 quid now? Are they even worth it anymore as they aren't a cheap army builder?

I feel like with the smart brick/minifig thing I'd hope any sets with them next year are the least desirable stuff possible. Like they should do a children who clean the stables in episode 8 pack or something. Realistically they'll be a group of clones with 12 seconds of screentime and will still fly off the shelves leading to Smart Brick sets forever

And that something is obviously a Lego Tie Avenger (Day #153). Abeloth who?

Convenient in the exact same way you conveniently forgot that Tom Kenny sung a song about the benefits of slavery in a crappy Christmas movie, which is to say I don't know what those are . The Night Trooper BP came out in June and the Mauldalorian one gets released in January, both priced at $23 ^^ Not exactly sub-20, but you can thank the tariffs for that  So yeah, the 327th BP didn‘t set a new standard or anything.
