Which is a good thing. Yeah I approve of the down sizing when it's a single person starfighter. But a troop transporting land vehicle is quite different as it should fit troops and they'd stand next to it on the battlefield. He does give those vibes! Hopefully his role in the show will be something similar, that would be cool. Speaking of, I finished Trials of the Jedi last week, and my desire for LEGO High Republic representation has massively increased. Agreed about the downsizing. The Juggernaut especially is way too downsized, especially for the price. The MTT’s downsizing doesn’t look as bad to me, but the available troop space is very poor for a troop carrier, and the shapes on the sides of the back look too thin. The $50 Slave 1 looks like a good $50 Slave 1, too bad it’s $70. Lama Su is great, though. Quote
icm Posted Tuesday at 04:22 AM Posted Tuesday at 04:22 AM I'm going to say something crazy here, but hear me out - In the past I've toyed with the idea of how the Clone Turbo Tank would fit in a Lego Space setting as a great big wheeled rover with fun suspension/steering, but 75413 is the first version of it that would really work in that setting. Previous versions of the CTT have used trans-brown tiles over light bluish gray plates to represent the windows at the front and the back, but this one uses new trans-dark blue plates and trans-blue tiles to have windows that actually let light through. It's got Space window colors like @danth likes so much. The brick-built wheels of the CTT remind me of the hubs of last year's Friends rover, and the whole body of the CTT is lower, smaller, and sleeker than previous versions. The gun turret on the top deck of the midsection has been shrunk down so much it looks like a satellite dish for communications, the blasters under the rear cockpit now look more like exhaust pipes than weapons, the big turret on the side of the midsection now looks like more comms or radiofrequency sensor gear, the mast-mounted observation post is now so clearly and irredeemably vulnerable that it must be another sensor or antenna or, if an observation post, one that was never intended for any combat situations. The main hold of the CTT, which has always been sparsely and skeletally furnished in previous versions, not great for carrying cargo and pretty awful for carrying troops, is now comfortably furnished to hold five seated troopers and could easily hold six or seven. The sand blue, trans-dark blue, and tiled surfaces really shift the aesthetic away from the heavily-studded armored Republic gray look, more towards a sleeker Space gray look. So, yeah - the 75413 Republic Juggernaut is a pretty bad Clone Turbo Tank, but it's a pretty good large Space rover. If I can get it half price without minifigs, I'll load it up with a bunch of white Classics and with a CS'24 crew and see which looks better. I'm not warming up to the Force Burner Snowspeeder yet, but I'll probably grab the windscreen on PaB or Bricklink and see if inspiration strikes for something Blacktron. Quote

Llewop Posted Tuesday at 05:32 AM Posted Tuesday at 05:32 AM No battle pack leaks yet guess leakers gotta sleep lol well in the U.K. most came out before midnight with the official pics over night. curios to see what changes have been made since the prelims. 10 minutes ago, CloneCommando99 said: Sadly no Tie Avenger announcement yet. Don’t think the Jango figure has changed from the version I have from 10 years ago. My only complaint would be to swap Ki adi for an extra marine but I suppose I’ll have to wait for the marine to pop up in a magazine. By the sound of it there are only two possible sets so far for M&G and they aren’t spoiler ish to say. AT-AT is in the trailer and the new razor crest. i would eat my hat if they didn’t release another wave for M&G in May. The film waves from R1, TFA and TLJ were elite and I have high hopes for them to give it everything it’s the first film for the 2020s and if it fails we are in a bad place. Quote
Mr. Cube Posted Tuesday at 05:48 AM Posted Tuesday at 05:48 AM It's a shame Jango doesn't have arm print. In recent years, they've been including more and more minifigures with arm prints in sets, including smaller ones. So this is a step back. On the other hand, Lama Su looks great! Personally, I would prefer Slave I in 75243 scale. Quote
Brickify Posted Tuesday at 06:34 AM Posted Tuesday at 06:34 AM Oof the 2020 style just doesn’t look right on bacara the t visor really should stretch back more than it is to make the helmet look less huge around it.The heating pads being a print rather than something closer to a dual mold looks kind of rough as well with all the white visible right under it. I don't think it would hurt sales significantly. UCS sets and system-scale sets (or playsets) are aimed at different customer segments, which, admittedly, can overlap. UCS sets are meant to be displayed on a shelf or in a display case, not for regular play. The minifigures are just a bonus - the main thing is the giant model of a famous vehicle. Quote
TheScaryDoor Posted Tuesday at 07:23 AM Posted Tuesday at 07:23 AM I think it will take time that the AT-ST awakens something in me and maybe I need to see the walker live in the store first. But for me its the perfect balance between size and price. Quote
Robi-wan Posted Tuesday at 08:18 AM Posted Tuesday at 08:18 AM Do like that AT-ST but will wait for a small discount on that one. For the others... I have no interest in ep 1-3 or Clone Wars so it saves me a chunk. But I do pity those who do love that part of SW. On the other hand looks like an ESB Yularen is in the new Death Star apparently. CF Mitch Posted Tuesday at 08:26 AM Posted Tuesday at 08:26 AM Wow, pictures are out... finally.... Definitely getting the Clone Turbo Tank, even though that Ki-Adi Mundi seems the exact same as its current version. Not too sure about the MTT... I think I'll just BL Commander Bly at some point. I will also get Jango Fett's Slave One. It's small but still decent and Lama Su is a great addition. Also, what happened with the 327th Battlepack, is that a set for later in the year after all, or...? Regards, Mitch Quote

The TCW Maul came in one of the 2022 magazines, i got him this way, too. I think it feels so close because we haven't had exactly any shortage on Maul figures the last decade or so. He also came in two books. Off the top of my head i count eight or nine Maul figures in total since 2015. 10 hours ago, Darth_Bane13 said: It's actually crazy how most of the clones since 2022 have had issues. Imagine how good all these clone troopers would look in the 2014 style... I would go broke buying so many. What's crazy to me is the discrepancy between creating whole new characters with unique molds and executing the printing for many troopers and other known minifigures. Like modern Lego group excels at big new elements, but fails and stumbles upon the finer details. 9 hours ago, TeufelHund said: Also if you're into price per piece ratios these sets suck, especially the Juggernaut which is $160 for 813 pieces... Well yeah, if it wasn't for the UCS Slave 1, they probably would have given Jango his arm printing just like many other main characters nowadays for the play sets. Lego might have made up their mind (again) as far as dealing with retaining UCS exclusivity goes. Or they will just throw him out the door as a keychain (like Luke) or in another Microfighter (like Rex) in the foreseeable future. You never know with these guys. Oh man, not only is Lego Star Wars always late to the party in terms of officially reveals, now they decided to drip-feed this wave as well. Speaking of which... The very first death star plans (already got beaten) have arrived. The imperial rank Insignia doesn't fit Yularen, so that's gotta be Krennic's torso. Edited Tuesday at 10:04 AM by BrickPrick Quote

Hilarious that they do this, guess they’re taking a page out of leakers’ books now. Brief thoughts, I think the overall shaping of the CTT is probably the best it’s ever been, and the minifigures despite the inaccuracies look sweet. The severe downsizing however for what should be a troop transport is beyond unacceptable (especially with the PPP!). A set priced at £140 has no excuse to offer this little and it makes me worry that the flagship summer sets, which should have both a sizeable build and good complement of figures, will offer less and less as the years go on. MTT looks great in my eyes, again should’ve been larger given the price but the build looks awesome and the assortment of characters and droids is nice too. The ’Force Burner’ Snowspeeder (not flying over snowy terrain on the box art ) is a cool idea. I can appreciate the new canopy piece and the minifigures look great. I think the snowspeeder itself looks a little blocky, but that’s mostly because of the bulky cockpit rather than the build itself. Between the Force Burner and V-19’s trans-yellow cockpit pieces, Classic Space fans are eating good. Hoping the remaining set reveals are imminent. Edited Tuesday at 09:37 AM by Kaijumeister Quote

Okay, the Clone Turbo Tank will actually retail for only 150€ in Germany... Holy clone cannoli, this just changes everything for me! No, not really. But i might no longer insist on a 50% discount. Agent Kallus Posted Tuesday at 01:02 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:02 PM Lego star wars has always been an expensive theme but I've never seen a bigger disconnect been the set pictures and the prices. CallumPears Posted Tuesday at 01:18 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:18 PM In-hand pictures of Bly... yep just as bad as expected. Genuinely, do the designers do it on purpose? Do they enjoy watching people complain? It should be trivially easy to get these things right. Quote

Would be better for them to just use the name. Quote
icm Posted Tuesday at 02:27 PM Posted Tuesday at 02:27 PM I guess the reason why the bottom of the hot rod snowspeeder is so deep and stubby at the front is to be a fairing for the speeder bike that's carried under the back. Without that payload, the next ESB snowspeeder should be more svelte, I hope. Quote
