I am very excited for the Lightning McQueen Speed Champions set. It’ll be interesting to see how they make him at the 8-wide scale. I would assume that this set would be the first Speed Champions set (not counting polybags) without a minifigure. I’m not sure it makes sense to include one (as cool as that would be).

They could include a random kid in a lightning McQueen suit (like the previous CMF). Lol

Honestly, I think they will just skip it!

That Wicked bookend just came out of nowhere...

Though I don't collect Wicked figs and have no plans of seeing the movie, I might actually pick this up just for the figs. I have the Dorothy and company CMFs, plus the monkeys from the Batman set. Now I can include Glinda and the Wizard in my collection.

Same, I plan on integrating my CMF Wizard of Oz minifigures with the Wicked minifigs. But I do hope we can get the classic MGM Glinda as a minifig one day. Not to mention the Munchkins, Wizard, and an updated Wicked Witch.

I picked up the anniversary Toy Story set. The train is compatible with the Disney celebration train (parade floats) from a few years back so I took Woody's parade float from that and added it to this new Toy Story train. Kinda wish we were getting more Toy Story sets, like maybe the claw machine. I guess we'll have to wait for Toy Story 5 next year.

The real Glinda has "puffy" sleeves that almost look like fairy wings. Not sure how to make that in minifig form, but perhaps some shoulder pads? Then the hair would have to be long and wouldn't that get in the way of the shoulder pads?

Would really like an original Glinda and Wizard but just couldn't find parts to make a MOC. I might just change Ariana's hair and pretend it is the original Glinda. LOL

I think they'd just draw the sleeves on her arms, sorta like Snow White's poofy sleeves, Cinderella's sleeves, and even Wolverine's shoulder pads. And like you said, a shoulder pad piece wouldn't work with long hair, which is the case for Jean Grey and Storm unless you use the ponytail and mohawk hair pieces for them.

And Princess Aurora’s shoulders too.

Now that we're getting minifigure sets for some of the classic animated films, I've been thinking about how to continue that trend in a way that really pops. My favorite idea that I've come up with so far is a Pinocchio set that is actually a working wall-mounted cuckoo clock, with character minifigures as the "cuckoo." Ideally there would be several different configurations: a single character that pops out on the hour, a little miniature parade around the front of the clock, etc.

Is it true that a Black Pearl UCS is coming this year or just a flimsy rumour?

It's coming. We already know the release date, part count, minifigure list, and even have some minifigure leaks.

Most of the discussion for that set is going on over in the Pirates forum, if you want to catch up.

With the new Lion mold for Wicked, what is the possibility of Lego repurposing it into a Simba or Mufasa in the future?

Love the idea of that wall art! Although I prefer the minifigs from the original. This is not bad though!

Yes, Lego, bring us more minifigs!!!

The WALL-E set has just been leaked. Features WALL-E, EVE, and M-O. I love that it comes with the plant boot.

I don't normally buy the large character models but I think I'll make an exception for this because all three characters look spectacular. Hoping one day we can get minifigure scale versions of them though.

That would be neat, to get Simba, Mufasa, and/or Scar.

The WALL•E set is simply incredible. I did not expect it to look this good.

They all look perfect, and the details are super well done. It feels complete with all the accessories like the boot and a trash cube, and M-O is such a nice, unexpected addition.

The Wall-e set looks amazing! I don't buy buildable characters, but I wouldn't mind getting this if I have room to put it somewhere.

That looks fantastic. So many good details and I also think it surpasses the original set. Looks like you even get the cockroach as well!

Now I don't regret missing the first set. Wall-e, Eve and surprisingly Mo. It's an 100% must buy. Absolutely gorgeous. Wall-E's size seems to be nearly the same. Can't wait to see better pictures!

That's a brand new sentence, especially when it comes to Lego sets.

So glad I didn’t pull the trigger on the large Wall-E set. The new one looks near-perfect and will be easier to display than the original.

I also just saw a leak for an icons set with the description being a “large fish tank” 4000+ pieces $500….. while I think it’s a longshot, anyone think this could end up being a large Finding Nemo set? $500 just seems steep for random fish. Tagging a Disney license on it and the price makes more sense

Nope. The set number is an Icons one (10xxx), and Disney D2C sets are in the Disney number range (43xxx). Sure, the upcoming Black Pearl has an Icons set number despite being based on a Disney property, but PotC does not fall under the general Disney theme, just like Marvel, Avatar, Indy, or Star Wars :classic:

Yeah, initially thought being Pixar may have resulted in the 10xxx but double checked the Up house and still a 43. Well, next best hope is it could potentially make for an easy MOC of the Finding Nemo tank

Late to the party but that WALL-E set is perfection.

- Wouldn’t have believed a downscaled WALL-E could somehow compete with the old Ideas one, but it does! The proportions and detailing are fantastic.

- EVE looks incredibly expressive and I like that her hands are articulated.

- M-O, the uncontested wingman of the film, is a delightful addition. f o r e i g n  c o n t a m i n a n t

It’s really cool that Hal, the trash cube, and boot plant are all included too. Genuinely a faultless set. I’m typically soured on buildable characters because of Star Wars, but the format is perfectly suited for WALL-E.

Marie from Aristocats gets a buildable figure next year (43286, $34.99)! I wonder if there’s gonna be bigger version too, like with Simba and the dalmatian before ^^

Always great to see another classic get some love!
