Len Posted April 3 Posted April 3 Thank you! I hope. I'm missing 5 portraits but have so many identical Quote
RODDY Posted April 3 Posted April 3 No way they are finally gonna make me splurge on the new Hogwarts because if Neville in Pajamas, I’m so excited we are getting that new minifig Quote

At least on reddit he wasn´t inlcluded with the other pics that featured Kettleburn Yeah, though we will have to see how it really looks, because based on the describtion, I could also see it beeing made so you can use it as an room that you can open, but probably could also added on the outside of a future set in it´s opened form - though for that it is probably missing some kind of roof. Expand I forgot he wasn't pictured. We just assumed he'd be included because the Sorcerer's Stone was pictured with Harry. That would be nice if it could be used to be connected to a future set. BrickBob Studpants Posted April 3 Posted April 3 There‘s also a sketch of the interior of the tower! Looks pretty cool ^^ The minifig selection is quite decent too! Not sure if I‘m reading this correctly, but to me it sounds like the new Fluffy is moulded? Sure hope so!! While I liked the previous version overall, it did look a bit robotic, especially with the visible ball joints. Quote

Expand The Herbology minifigure count is very dissapointing, especially since Sprout if said to have plain tan legs. For the rumoured $50-$60 price point I would have expected at least four minifigures. I'm guessing the new Mandrake is either considered a 'minifigure' or just used some of the budget either way. I'm starting to think Neville saying 'Why is it always me?' has become an inside joke at Lego HQ. I really hope he is in his teddy pyjamas in The Main Tower! I'm guessing the Quidditch player is the way to provide a Slytherin representative and increasing the play value by having a student able to fly around the tower. I'm guessing their torso will either be the same Qudditch robes or a reuse of a new Quidditch torso that will come in the QQS set. The faceprint might be a reuse in both sets too. BacktoBricks Posted April 3 Posted April 3 The interior sketch would seem to suggest that Neville will be in his pyjamas and it also shows full grown Fawkes in Dumbledore's Office. The underground rock level apparently includes the Devil's Snare, Winged Keys and Chess challenges, whilst the Mirror of Erised is situated above Dumbledore's Office in the roof eves like it was in the original 2018 Great Hall set. It's tenuous but perhaps that's why Quirrell won't be included because the challenges don't lead to the end goal, but I can really only see his inclusion in The Great Hall set rather than this one as a marketing ploy to make people buy both sets to display or play the end scene. Obviously not everyone is going to be forced to buy two very expensive sets just to do so, but it will surely influence some. Quote
JeanGreyForever Posted April 3 Posted April 3 As I expected, no griffin statue entrance for Dumbledore's office. But very impressed that we're getting the Gryffindor dorms with an actual bed beyond just the common room. Hopefully the Fat Lady's portrait is included as well. Maybe the sketch's scale isn't accurate but it looks like the Mirror of Erised is too tall to even fit into the underground chambers. The harp isn't drawn next to Fluffy. I hope there's a decent amount of chess pieces for the board. Quote
Virginia_Bricks Posted April 3 Posted April 3 So clearly the challenges will be slide in slide out modules, but I'm wondering if the Gryffindor Common Room & Dorms, Fluffy Encounter, and Dumbledore's Office will be slide out modules. It just seems easy now to release a Chamber of Secrets set with the bathroom sliding into where Fluffy is and the Chamber sliding into the dungeons, but also seems unlikely they release a set like that in the style of Potions/Charms which don't have facade. Quote
brickbride Posted April 4 Posted April 4 (edited) I'm sure they get "named" characters in the sense of movie extras that have a name slapped on them like Daphne Greengrass, Leanne, and Terry Boots. LEGO know that named characters sell because some people need to collect'em all. The layout for the Main Tower is plain ridiculous with all the challenges in the underground section and the payoff being over Dumbledore's Office. So you enter the Forbidden Corridor, get past Fluffy, fight your way through the underground section, then take the perfectly regular and accessible stairs, then enter Dumbledore's office, and through it access the Mirror of Erised? WTF? What's even the point of the challenges then? Also if we go by the previous track record, all the challenges are going to look bad since those slide-out modules are designed to be replaced. (Not that they didn't look bad in the Fluffy Encounter but that was the low point, or one of the lowest points, of the previous system instead of the norm.) Quirrell not being in this set where he's really needed but instead being in the previous one where he wasn't is not great, either. I wonder if that's going to become a pattern, LEGO putting characters in sets where they don't belong just so you'll have to buy more sets. Like maybe later on we get a Quidditch set with players from three Houses but not from Slytherin so you'll have to complete it with the Slytherin player from this one. Also three storeys spent on nothing but stairs sounds boring (though I'd expect us to get the portrait of the Fat Lady at the very least) and Dumbledore's office looks like the underwhelming version from the 2018 and 2021 systems rather than the cool, elaborate 2001 version. An easy pass for me. Actually a Thestral in the style of Hedwig, Fawkes, and the Horntail (with moveable wings) could be a pretty neat idea but I'm pretty sure that's not what we'll get. And all of LEGO HP's recent efforts to portray buildable creatures (Buckbeak, Hedwig at Privet Drive, and the sorry excuse for Hedwig in the motorcycle set) looked like crap. So I'm kinda dreading this one. Expand I'd expect those interior-only sets to be mainly focused on the classes, as more or less a successor to the Moments books. There's still Trelawney's class, Moody's class (and possibly Lupin's and/or Lockhart's as well), and that's if they stick to the ones that have been done before instead of making up new ones. I could also see them doing such modules as an update for the smallest sets of the past like, say, Freeing Dobby. Edited April 4 by brickbride Quote

brickbride Posted April 4 Posted April 4 (edited) Looks like a pretty full and detailed greenhouse to me. There's the lack of doors (and with the way the trees seem to grow through the roof it might not have a full glass roof either), but then the Owlery was like a quarter of a tower and the Boathouse didn't have doors either. It's par for the course. I wouldn't pay EUR 50-60 for this, though, but that's LEGO pricing for you. If you got into the new system with its very unfinished EUR 200 Great Hall and EUR 80 Flying Lesson followed by a EUR 250 Tower, presumably you can afford it. The Monster Book looks really neat but not like something I'd want or need, it's kind of an outlier that doesn't fit with anything else. I wouldn't spend EUR 60 on something like that. I still wonder if you can store stuff inside like in the trunks, though. Neville is also a very random choice of minifig to go with it and at the same time a boring one, seehing how often we've already had him. Why not Hagrid (as the teacher) or Draco (like in the old 4750 set)? Edited April 4 by brickbride Quote
Tariq j Posted April 4 Posted April 4 The tower does look good even through the position of the mirror is a little odd. Depending on how tall the mirror was they could have included some space at the base for it to slide out or something. That said I really like the inclusion of the common room and the dormitory next to it. The common room seems to be biggest room of the set so hopefully there’s a lot of detail there. Glad to finally see the return of the three spires protruding of the top of the tower too. There seems to be a blue ornament(?) of some kind at the very tip of the tower - not sure what that is supposed to represent. Quote
THELEGOBATMAN Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Okay, so the Main Tower sounds absolutely amazing. I love the overall layout, and how many iconic rooms there are. Minifigures sound awesome, and there are plenty of them. The price is rough, 200€ would've been much better though. The Greenhouse, on the other hand... As nice as the build sounds, 60€ for 390 pieces and three minifigures is an absolute awful deal. Quote

Virginia_Bricks Posted April 4 Posted April 4 Pretty sure the greenhouse set includes a roof because the sketch has brown lines in the ceiling portion. I think just one place is missing for the trees to poke through Quote
MaxHeadroom Posted April 4 Posted April 4 I’m on the fence with the greenhouses. I’ll probably get one once they’re on sale. I’m very glad they’re including the building to the side of the tower, as long as the tower itself is still substantial enough. Seeing this is giving me some hope they’ll actually be able to recreate the 2018 mini set in full minifig scale. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted April 4 Posted April 4 I faintly remember calling the possibility of a PS-based Main Tower the worst-case scenario, but I‘m glad it turned out a lot more interesting than I gave that idea credit for! Having the entire climax of the movie including the confrontation with Neville, the encounter with Fluffy, all the challenges, plus the Mirror of Erised all in one set, is pretty amazing! The greenhouse having only 3 minifigs is pretty lame, but the new mandrakes are awesome, as is the idea of including that plant Neville is seen holding in OotP (the monkey paw strikes again)! The build itself looks lovely too, judging by the drawing Quote

All that remains is the Viaduct Bridge and Viaduct Entrance. The Bridge might be difficult to pull off a fun playset that also is correct, but the Viaduct Entrance clearly will be next year's (if they don't go 4 years) flagship set. Quote
(1)Stein Posted April 4 Posted April 4 I posted last year that the Second part of "Lego's Build the most detailed HOGWARTS" Series would be huge with 76454 Hogwarts Castle Main tower. You can actually see the size of the tower in the instructions from 76447 Hogwarts Castle: Flying Lessons, page 132 and can tell that its going to be massive, The big question is of course how the stairs are going to be done!? Sadly Brickshelf is down and Eurobricks still doesn't have picture uploads available yet!! Quote
Bropal33 Posted April 4 Posted April 4 I think the great tower looks great! I really can’t see this just being 3 years long because then what are they gonna do..? start another castle? I feel like they’ll drag this one out. Next year I’d LOVE to see the flagship set be OoTP based, as since 2007 there has not been a large Hogwarts set based on this film and I feel like there’s lots of opportunity there. In my mind it would include Room of Requirement, Courtyard of some sorts for the Fireworks scene, and have the fire snake that Fred and George light up etc. , The Divination Classroom, Umbridges Office, and maybe the libraries or something else extra. my figure line up would look something like; Harry Ron Hermione Cho Chang Fred George McGonogal (Hair Down) Umbridge (with clothing burnt) Kingsley Shacklebolt Fudge Dumbledore Trelawney (Hair down from when she gets sacked) Bloody Barron (irrelevant to scene but) And a new Fawkes flying piece for when dumbledore apperates/teleports. I just REALLY want to recreate that scene as it is one of my favorites in the films lol. Quote
