That droid set is not for me I think. Gonna have to bricklink young leia for the collection.

The thing that stands out to me is the pink droid in the set is QT-KT not R2-KT like it was rumored (QT-KT appeared in one arc of the clone wars where the astromech squad had to infiltrate a separatist base with Major Gascon).

The two have similar names, and apparently the reason for that was that QT-KT was created as a standing for R2-KT so there wouldn't be two characters in the cast called R2 at the same time. Which I think kinda of raises the question, is the final anniversary figure R2-KT or is there a chance we're getting QT-KT? Since Lego's website hint "Oh so cute" makes more sense for QT.

The droid builder set is definitely an easy skip. The TIE and X-Wing set looks good and I'm glad it's on the market, but I don't need it. I think the only interesting thing in it is the McDonald's color-schemed astromech named L3-G0.

Now bring on Jedi Bob's Starfighter!

Does anyone have any idea which (if any) rebel pilot helmet iconography that is?

It appears to be unique to this character. Which is unfortunate, as we could've gotten Zal Dinnes' helmet instead (same color scheme, but inverted), but I like it. You can never have too many Rebel Pilots.

Agreed. I thought maybe Zal Dinnes or Torge Grommer, but alas…

Let's be thankful Lego didn't put Darth Malak in that horrible set

I just don’t like the look of the Droid factory set. (Though I feel like Lego’s trolling the TCW fans with that name, hilarious.)

X-Wing and Tie have good builds but mediocre figures. Except for L3-G0.

Now where is Jedi Bob?!!!

Kinda glad that the figs in X-wing V Tie are nothing to write home about because I wasn't a set I was planning on getting anyway.

I do remember an action figure line of Astromechs with that name, it's probably harking to that. ( Though the idea of an actual droid factory makes me think more of AotC than TCW).

The chopper in that set looks pretty rough.

I decided a while ago that I'm not going to buy the Dark Falcon or X-Wing vs. TIE sets because I already have a number of Falcons, TIEs, and X-Wings, and in doing so I seem to have set my expectations for the sets way too low, and now they've impressed me to the point that I'm having to try really hard not to want them :cry_sad:

The Droid Factory astromechs don't look very pretty though; definitely hoping Leia+Lola will be very cheap on the aftermarket.

I am too, it would have been nice to get a new rebel pilot that they haven’t made yet (from the movies) but this will at least save me from buying the set or bricklinking any minifigures.

So we know 95% of what figures are coming with the sets from this year so I’m wondering what figures are likely to appear in the magazines for the rest of this year and next year?

I know we got Vader and Sabine coming. Probably an Ahsoka and P2 shiny but I’m not sure who else could be a likely candidate

I feel like either the DS Trooper or Crewman from the ISD could show up in a magazine. Maybe a Praetorian Guard. And then maybe Lando from the Skiff. (I don’t think they’ve made a magazine with Lando yet.)

We should be getting 1HY 2025 set numbers and prices soon, correct? I can’t wait for us to go rampant on some detective work (with a dash of speculation). Anyone else?

Normally the thread for the new year opens up in October time but doesn’t mean we won’t get any rumors before then but I doubt we’d get any until after the barge is out

I’d say the praetorian as well as we’ve got one in the advent calendar can’t believe I also forgot we’ll probs get  the new Mandolorian and imperial super commandos from the bp

Might be an unpopular opinion but I haven't liked an X Wing or Tie Fighter set since 2012. The 2012 X-Wing and Tie Fighter (both of which I bought upon release) have the best scale in my opinion, at $80 each, they both had an adequate size. I feel the new iterations have been too small. I have no interest in mix and matching the wings and cockpits and find it to be kind of a silly gimmick. But that was obviously not targeted for AFOLS. Still, none of the other X-Wings or Tie Fighters since 2012 have peaked my interest and I hope we return to that scale someday. I also have no interest in original Lego characters produced for this theme. Everything about the set is a hard pass.

That being said, the Mandalorian sets are carrying this upcoming wave. The Mandalorian Night Owl is easily the best figure coming up, and the price is alluring too. At just $20, Ambush on Mandalore is one of the best battle packs we've had in a while. Paz Vizla vs Off Gideon looks cool too. The structure is given great detail, thanks to the lack of side build. We got a structure that feels fleshed out and bulky. And its only 40 bucks. Plus the figures are amazing.

Besides the 2 Mandalorian sets, the rest of the wave feels lame. Buildable droids? Alternate universe original sets? X-Wing mech? X-Wing and Tie Fighter with interchangeable wings and cockpits? Color me cynical, but these ideas feel tacky, unnecessary, and ridiculous. Comparing this to the 2013 Summer wave where we got an AT-TE, Dual on Geonosis, Homing Spider Droid, the Cad Bane set, a Jango Fett mini figure, or even last years Sumer wave where we got the T-6 Jedi Shuttle, a new Ghost, the Ahsoka sets in general. This feels like a very weak Summer wave. Like easily top 3 weakest summer waves of the past 10 years. Definitely the weakest of the 2020's. It's mostly so bad.

But the Captain Rex figure in a cheap mighty micro is a nice touch. Dare I say amazing. Shoutout to the 3 good sets in this wave, lol.

The 2012 X-Wing and TIE are pretty great. Never owned them, but my buddy had the X-Wing and it was awesome. I've always admired those two sets.

I'm only slightly intrigued by the Rebel Pilot, since it's always good to have new ones, but not making them an established character is unfortunate. I agree though, there's too much canon (and legends) content for Lego to be wasting slots on their own thing. It was fine in 2013, imo, before Disney gave us a slew of new content, even the Freemakers sets didn't feel like they interfered with the other Star Wars content. This just seems poorly timed.

The Droid Factory set looks horrible, like it's objectively bad, the RTG, while an interesting concept, didn't need three sets and its own cast, I'll let the mech slide, it seems that most themes will have a mech sub-line, but I can agree that this year pales in comparison to summer waves past. I still remember the 2013 wave like it was yesterday,  those were the days.

I agree with 99.9% of the things you said, but I have to politely disagree with your comment about the Mandalorian battle pack. It's a great set, but a horrible battle pack. If you want to get one, it's amazing. If you want to get > 5 to set up a scene, build a MOC, or add builds to your bunker set, then it's again amazing, especially if you catch them all on sale. However, if you are going to army build with them, it's an absolute nightmare. Not only are you stuck with the other figures, but you also end up with a ton of builds that are useless unless you enjoy building MOCs or selling LEGO.

Half of Death Watch looks identical anyway, I don't see much issue with army-building both factions.

I do see why it's appealing to view the loyalists as unique, but they are still generic.

Okay, that Dark Falcon looks sick. It isn’t something I’d ever thought I need, but I’m really warming up to it. The gray and red greebling provide nice contrast, while that trans-red cockpit looks stellar! Jedi Vader looks excellent, C-3PO is good for RoS fans, Darth Dev almost looks Starkillerish…? Darth Jar Jar is a little plain for my taste but nice to finally have, Darth Rey should’ve had a skirt piece. Beach Luke on the other hand steals the whole show for me. Reminds me of Bro. Thor and I’m here for it. Would’ve been cool to get a printed Green Milk piece to pair with the Blue Milk, but whatever. The only thing I’m left with, though, is why do I need this? It takes a little too much explanation to display, and it’ll be a dust magnet. The only thing I really want are the figures, but I still can’t use them in my current display.

The X-Wing V. TIE Starfighter—er, TIE Fighter & X-Wing Mash-up (tell it exactly like it is, man) is boring and even upsetting. The OC minifigs are generic, which is good for MOCs, but not for me. The Droid, L3-GO, is a nice touch though. TIE Pilot is nothing new, which is disappointing. Then the Rebel Pilot. His name is Rebel Pilot. Ahem, excuse me. (WHY NOT LITERALLY ANYONE THAT ACTUALLY EXISTS IN CANON? WHY NOT A FEMALE PILOT OR A PILOT WITH A SUSPICIOUSLY FAMILIAR MUSTACHE! WHY? WHY!) The TIE pod is a little messy, and the wings are nothing revolutionary. The X-Wing actually looks better than last time, except that it’s maybe too short, but what do I know?

As for the droid 4-pack… someone from Dots was bored and decided to build something from Star Wars. They look cute, great base for customs…they look fine as far as the torso and head. The legs mess up it for me, they look too chunky. Chopper looks odd with the pupil, R2-KT looks tall…? I’m leaning toward a pass, but I would like Young Leia, and the aftermarket probably won’t be favorable to me, so I’ll apply all of the wacky accessories so that it distracts from the odd proportions. Not hating, but “meh”.

Now Jedi Bob remains our last hope. I don’t expect a Jedi Starfighter or Interceptor or any hybrid in between though.

Apparently the unknown minifig with Bob's Starfighter will be a Mon Calamari clone trooper? Like a Mon calamari in clone armour?

This from lifebricks though and he's not known to me as a trusted source ( though it adds up from what Max Bautde said)

I wouldn’t trust what Lifebricks has to say. He’s essentially Mandr but dialled to 11. He’s not got any rumours under his belt that turned out to be real.

Though it could explain why Jar Jar supposedly was going to have blue armour. It was the Mon Cal all along.

It looks to me like someone just put a Mon Cala head on a CT torso and legs :laugh_hard: Maybe it‘s real (considering the other 4 figures in the pic are), but lifebricks is a notorious grifter, isn‘t he?

The issue is that even if I wanted to build Nite Owls and Mandalorian warriors together, I would still end up with 20 figures and 10 builds that have no use for every 10 sets I get. Even a clone trooper command station has better value. It's not even worth buying these figures separately because these sets go on sale for $12-$15 in December, meaning I would break even and have to deal with the hassle of shipping. At the same time, there is a 332nd battle pack with 3 figures and an accurate vehicle for $20 as comparison or both superior older Mandalorian battle packs where figures are all the same or they all belong to the same covert. I really hate these droideka vs clones type of battle packs with mixed factions.

I just bought 8 Imperial Commandos for 30 euro and that's better than the battle pack since you only get 2, however the battlepack is a great parts pack with useful pieces
