Who is the other old guy in that City Advent Calendar? Is he also Santa?

I really wish Lego would feature some other versions/ nationalities of Santa like St. Nick, etc.

Either he's an old elf, or its supposed to be casual Santa but then they felt like they had to put kitted out Santa too.

Some excellent new animals around. I for one can't wait until that doe mould is done in natural colours. Surely it's got to.

Love the SW doggo too, but I'm unlikely to get that one given the price of the set.

New baby reindeer mould in the 2026 City Advent Calendar!

What a pleasant surprise, the closes we have gotten to a roe deer in Lego, but it is clearly a reindeer calf  That means we got red deer male and female and reindeer calf, however I am sure Lego will treat them as one big happy family:hmpf:

Also, some kind of grey wolf/lion thing in a Star Wars set 75451 Hutt Palace Sentry Droid Showdown. I think it's named as Keibu? @Brick Clicker has it posted.

Not common SW has animals so post a picture of that as well

As I already pointed out – a new mold like the baby reindeer in an advent calendar is completely unprecedented, so I’m wondering if it appears first in a regular set we don’t know the details of yet, where it would make sense for it to accompany a realistically colored doe.

Winther village maybe, but seems unlikely. :shrug_oh_well: Maybe it just is a first like Creator 3-1 with animals and new minifigs :sceptic:

Rose waht?! No way! It’s a first time to see a new mold introduced in advent calendar, espcially that animal one! Hooray! I will get that advent calendar.  Finally a fawn!

Pretty sure it is the later. In the end it is logical he doesn´t run around with his jacket all the time, when he is in the factory or his office. Can also understand that they still decided to include a christmas Santa, though of course Santa is basically the figure I am least excited about - elves you can use multiple of, but I have enough Santas sitting around aready.

Winter village would be a likely choice, or any other Christmas related set of course. But aside from that, I don´t think the Advent Calendar can´t get a new mould, in the end it is probably just a matter of how the budget is used, which I think just goes to prints and recolours normally.

I wonder if we will see this fawn show up in CMF or City as normal deer outside Winter Village someday.

I do hope so. I’m confused by the route they’ve taken with the ‘fawn/calf’ mould and wonder if there’s some idea to try and make it multipurpose as either a small deer or a ‘baby “reindeer”’

The doe mould, by comparison looks very ‘normal’.

The first new animal in an AC, but not the first new part in general  Last year’s City AC had a new and still-exclusive Xmas tree costume, and the SW one introduced a new piece for Babu Frik that has just been reused in a M&G set ^^

The new reindeer calf is very cute, and I think it can double as a fawn, considering the stag doubles as a reindeer :laugh_hard: I think I can hear angry biologist noises in the distance.

Agreed. A deer family complete soon as I predicted! Drag, doe, and fawn.

Christmas movies and media have so bastardised ‘reindeer’ that the average person’s perception is really skewed. I do think though that putting antlers on any supposed ‘baby’ deer is either wrong or just unnecessary, and limits usefulness.

We can have another conversation another day about the physical differences between deer species … but seeing as the ‘standard’ Lego big cat mould covers several species, and the bear covers three, of wildly varying sizes*

and proportions, maybe that ship has long sailed.

This one is pretty out there, but I have to admit I kind of love it (as some sort of fantasy beastie).

Er no I don’t think it really could stand in for any real life canids

It’s so nice to have a sci-fi creature from licensed theme like Star Wars.  I kinda like that alien canine so i might collect it.

Also, I’m little confused by people calling the baby reindeer “fawn” and “calf”. What is the appropriate word to refer a baby reindeer?

‘Calf’ for reindeer / caribou.

Fawn tends to be reserved for smaller and more foresty deer species, though in some it’s interchangeable. I’m sure it also varies by language/ translation

Basically calf is the right term for reindeer, same as bull and cow are used for the adult ones. In the end there are many names used for deer based on size (not of the individual but the species) but also on age of an animal. In the end I think we all understand what is meant whether you call it calf or fawn and the adults, stag, bull, buck, doe, cow and so on.

One difference is that ‘fawn’ is understood to be a young deer, whereas ‘calf’ will always need identified by the type of animal (as cows, whales, elephants etc all have young referred to as that). So people might use ‘fawn’ specifically (in English) for brevity & specificity.

There. I fixed it. Quoted you because, well, your handle here 😁

Someone in my chat group said it looked like it jumped out of Lion King, so I had to play around a bit. Would be nice to have a Scar like this, even though it's very unlikely. But I'll definitely get the original. I think it looks really cool. Bonus: New Grogu!

I like the new Fawkes mold and the Basilisk.  The baby reindeer is great, can't wait to pick some up.  The SW wolf is interesting, will definitely fit into my fantasy/castle world.  And any new small birds in new colors is always welcome.
