Thanks for watching out. As said I gave the webserver and the PHP backend behind a restart already, so may be gone with that already.

The site was totally unreachable a minute ago. Server 500 errors for every page I could try. Also, just before it went down - the avatar pictures stopped loading again.

Hm ok strange, think I will have to take deeper looks in logs to find some reasons.

Edit: Think I found what was bugging us, changed some minutes ago - I will check the logfiles tomorrow, if the issue has been fixed.

@SpacePolice89, thank ye for informing us! The day has finally arrived, long have I waited for an opportunity to create an account. :pir-devil:

You're welcome! I noticed it when I looked for an old picture of mine. It was a very pleasant surprise to find Brickshelf fully functional.

Ah, so *that's* why I couldn't see my profile when I first joined. Good to know it's an anti-spam measure, makes sense. Does that 10-post limit apply to sending private messages, too?

@marcuschn not sure about the private message restriction - I reckon it should not apply for private messages.

You do need 10 posts to use the PM system.

Hello, I follow the Marvel and DC yearly forums, and I have a stream set-up for approximately 10 years that lists just the unread messages in forums I follow.  This year, for some reason, even though I follow the 2026 forums and I am not reading them, this steam is EMPTY. I have tried messaging using "Contact Us" button, but no response.  Please help!

Thanks @Black Falcon for pointing the in right direction!

@RobbieHxC We seem to have some bug / issue since end of 2025 / beginning of 2026. And it is affecting exacatly what you are describing not working. Unfortunately I do not have a solution to offer.

Possibly follow the mentioned other topic to get updates on the matter. I still need to look deeper into this as the vendor was not really of much help. :(

Agree with the restriction but the limit is q high though and encourages spamming...

@Kay As we are mainly a forum we hope this can be understood as allowing our members some protection.

I consider for example "famous builders" also as our welcomed guests who shall feel comfortable and comfy within our forums. I believe as a famous person you would not like to have 20+ new messages in your inbox on a daily basis..

You may see it in some positive way: You are nearly there already. And believe me, after your next post you are part of the trusted members & your mindset may suddenly shift to "new members need to prove 1st they can understand and follow the rules of conversation" & in consequence you may naturally understand any message in your inbox as a sane one already. :pir-sweet:

Kind regards

Hey there!

I was planning to open up either a single topic, or even a set of topics (over time), highlighting parts I've enjoyed using in my designs and asking others about how they've used them in their MOCs, and I had a few questions:

  1. Where should I put a topic like this? My current thinking is just in the General LEGO Discussion forum. Or, is there already a topic / ongoing thread I could simply add this to? (At first glance I couldn't see anything similar in recent topics, at least not in the General LEGO Discussion)
  2. Should I perhaps try and have a single topic/thread for all future part highlights I do, and just keep adding to it as I come up with new ones (this could work well to maintain an ongoing general discussion, instead of everything getting scattered). Or, would it work to have one topic per highlight to help keep the discussion focused on that particularly piece, e.g. "Part Highlight - Part no. 3386"? (This highlights the part in the title, which might be handy for any viewer to have a quick reference). If I did one "thread" per part I would definitely try to keep it infrequent though, so as to avoid creating too many new topics in any space of time.

I just thought I'd double check as I'm still working out the best places and ways to post and discuss certain topics.

Thanks in advance for any help!

(@aFrInati0n I just thought I'd '@mention' someone just to help prevent this lying undiscovered for some time. It seems no one has posted here for a while )

All fine for the mention - but to be honest with you I do not have a good answer for your questions in mind.. esp. as we are having the situation with the poll open for 3rd party brands..

I am not sure if somebody else could answer or will read here.. I would tell give it a week and if you are still waiting for feedback, hint a mention to Jim, he should be able to help.
