mahjqa Posted September 28 Posted September 28 I'm having trouble with brickcontroller2 version 3.1 on an Ipad- after running for a couple of minutes the steering servo locks itself at a 90 degree angle. It doesn't seem to be a mechanical issue, restarting the profile in the app zeroes the steering again. Does anyone know of a fix? I tried putting the steering servo on different ports, but no luck so far. The hub's firmware is up to date. I'm reading things about forked apps in this thread, but I suppose there's some jailbreaking to be done to run these on Ipad, or am I wrong there? Quote

Well not exactly, no need to jailbrake, rather you have to be able to download and compile the code and install to your iPad as a developer / test version. And I am not sure if you need an iOS developer account for that or not, maybe your iCloud account is enough. I used to have a paid developer account, now I don't but I can still use it for installing test software on my phone.. So the short answer is that this mostly works for software engineers who know what they need to do, at least on iPhone / iPad. Maybe on Android some precompiled version could be made, which could be easier to install.. Quote
ludov Posted September 28 Posted September 28 You need to put the device in “developer mode” and then you can install apps signed with a regular iCloud account. However, it seems that such apps have limited “lifetime” and after a week or so are disabled. In any case, you need XCode, which is a seriously big installation. Quote
mahjqa Posted September 30 Posted September 30 Yeah, that requires a bit more commitment than I'm into. I'd be willing to contribute financially to get the brickcontroller2 app updated and properly into the app store, but messing with developer profiles more commitment than I'm into. In the mean time I installed brickcontroller2 on an old android phone, which for now seems to have fixed the issue. Quote
