Wardancer Posted September 9, 2025 Author Posted September 9, 2025 There is a new, very big, dark green leaf piece in the upcoming Christmas ornament Very promising. I cannot figure out how it looks on the other side though. Quote

Roebuck Posted September 10, 2025 Posted September 10, 2025 I think Space fans will have more use of the fig than Castle fans I think Lego are getting a little carried away with adding Castle and Space parts in other sets now, just give us proper sets from those themes that is what we really want Quote

Not usable for castle fans. Oh well we have gotten enough new castle factions now : Black Adders, Griffin Lords, Kraken Raiders and Riders of Rohan (horse faction) Waiting for them to be released on pab. We still need a proper return of the Black Knights with their iconic long dragon shields. Quote
RichardGoring Posted September 10, 2025 Posted September 10, 2025 I thought it was a castle set? Elf faction? Present faction? Christmas faction? Santa and Mrs Claus the king and queen. Jousting on reindeer (just need some barding). Red and white flags. I'd put them more towards the outlaws side of things though, with Wolfpack and Forestmen, hiding in trees. More seriously, I agree that it's a bit of a pain to have to get things piecemeal as opposed to just nice sets dedicated to the relevant theme. It's fun to have all these minifigures, but without the sets to go with it, the parts supply dries up, and enthusiasm doesn't really build with new fans, so it's a vicious cycle. It's clearly making them money though, so not sure we'll see a change any time soon. Quote

You know what that means Something like this would never happen with a castle or history themed CMF. If Lego would do a castle CMF it would be the best selling CMF by far. People would buy the minifigs in great masses. But the thing is, if people could buy detailed CMF quality castle minifigs for €3,99, would they still buy the overpriced sets? I hope Lego proves me wrong, but I think that's the reason why we did not get one yet and it looks bad for the future imo. Quote

This really isn't a big deal and I don't see why you care as the pieces will end up on PAB On 9/10/2025 at 3:08 PM, RichardGoring said: I thought it was a castle set? Elf faction? Present faction? This isn't that big of a deal as the pieces will end up on PAB. Now the griffon and kraken knights are more of a bigger deal especially if they don't end up on PAB. Quote

Even the classic space parts are pretty close to regular green, and those are probably the only parts that tempt me. The worry is that these, and the griffon and kraken knights only come to Standard Pick a Brick which is currently unavailable in the US. Quote

Probably not if they were only buying sets for the minifigures. But do people do that for unlicensed sets when you can buy the minifigure parts through PAB? Current castle sets seem to sell OK suggesting people buy them for the bricks and design and not just the minifigures. Quote

D&D basically was exactly that and normal series constantly include castle figures. That and you can order figs from unlicensed sets from Pick a Brick. Also that would basically go for all unlicensed themes not only castle ;). Quote

That is exactly why I wrote "detailed CMF quality minifigs" because for me there is a differents between that and regular minifigs that are available at PAB. For example the Wolfpack beastmaster comes with printed arms and legs, a shield, a non-standard cape and a wolf versus the Wolfpack guy from the Town square. Of course it is best to get as many variations as possible for kitbashing, so both are welcome. Edited September 20, 2025 by Yperio_Bricks Quote

And you are basically comparing a really great CMF figure, with a more basic normal figure. If we take the Black Falcons, Lion Knights, or the new Horse or Snake Knights they are on the same level as most cmf IMO. Edited September 20, 2025 by Black Falcon Quote

You quoted me too fast I think the price at ALDI was 2,99€ but I don't remember exactly. 2€ Damn, I have not been in a Netto for years. If only I knew they had the D&D series! Everywhere I went, the scalpers had cleared everything. It was the same for the Wolfpack Beastmaster. I only got one because a fellow AFOL sent me one as a gift. But I never found one in a store. Maybe the Horse Knight King would qualify as a CMF minifig. Actually, the crown and hair piece was introduced with a CMF minifig 10 years ago. Quote

Not sure how much they got when they sold them for 2€ but I guess each store just got a few boxes then, but hard to say. 53 minutes ago, Yperio_Bricks said: Maybe the Horse Knight King would qualify as a CMF minifig. But it was also the first time they had a CMF as far as I know, and I don´t think they had the series afterwards. (It was the red-yellow netto btw, not the black one). When they sold themfor 2€ was much later, might even be that is was after the next series was released, but really not sure about that. Quote

Castle, Pirates,.... Heard that May series in 2026 will be "regular" series. The one they made in January in last couple of years (with Wolfpack Beastmaster, Batlord etc.). Wish it's true, licensed series are nice for fans of specific license and usually they bring some nice, new parts (I'm working on custom Spiderverse CMF series with each minifig using one part from Spiderverse CMF), but figs from them have very limited possibilities of use. Similar case with January costume series - I get that people really like these (costumes were in every single "regular" series in last years), but usually they are not very useful. Quote
