Redimus Posted September 23, 2014 Too far across the pond? And here was me thinking it was too far across the country!
L@go Posted September 23, 2014 Very much looking forward to it! There's just the small matter of the LEGO Fan Weekend in Denmark to get done with first, then I'll be on the plane over. Had a great time last year, expect the same this time :)
Godtshep Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) Yep, I'll be there! Wearing my Brickset badge with pride! Edited September 23, 2014 by Godtshep
Redimus Posted September 25, 2014 This seems a sensible place to ask this. So it seems I'm still on holiday the weekend this is on, and I get paid the Friday before, so there's little reason *not* to go, other than the minor issue of knowing nothing about Swindon. Do any of you have a recommendation on BnB or the like that isn't too far away and too expensive I could kip at?
AyliffeMakit Posted September 28, 2014 (edited) I'll definitely be there on Saturday again after my first visit last year! I've got my tickets booked, and I'm looking forward to spending all of my money in one go seeing you all there! Heppeng Posted September 28, 2014 It's going to be a long day out for me (and my daughter!), but I have taken the plunge! I hope to have a good chat about exhibiting too as I am putting together a 12V railway for shows, and need some tips!
Sir Brickalot Posted October 6, 2014 Well, I thoroughly enjoyed myself on Saturday. The shops were great, as were the models! Can't wait for next year!
paul_delahaye Posted October 6, 2014 Some pictures from my visit on Saturday for those who did not manage to make it: The amazing Victorian London, my photography skills do not do it justice! Really impressed with the detail on this fighter jet Clever Got to Love those minions This guy's layout appeared to be Digitally controlled, it had sound effects and all sorts, really liked the way the trains pulled away slowly and accelerated 250,000+ bricks, 8 meters long, meter wide, meter high, just shows what can be done with an unlimited supply of bricks A small airport, actually I really liked the minifig scale of this one, something I'd love to build one day
Sir Brickalot Posted October 7, 2014 Here's my loot! GWLS LOOT! by Sir Brickalot, on Flickr Very happy with my loot, especially that 2556 Ferrari Formula One Racer: I picked it up for £25 and I love it! I consider myself very lucky as I bought the Lego Space Book (What a fantastic book!) and got it signed by Pete and Tim!
Godtshep Posted October 18, 2014 I'm very late to the party, but let me just say: GWBS this year was great, but I think it was affected by the upcoming London event- many great vendors weren't there. But otherwise it was excellent. We got to meet Barney Main and Pete Reid and the vegetarian hotdogs in the cafe were amazing. Here's what I brought: World City Mobile Police unit- Everything there minus box- £15 A few plates and tiles and stuff, two skeletons, a keychain and a bird.
