Redimus Posted October 13, 2014 Just pick a surface you want to build on (floor, table or tables, or whatever) and start laying track, see what you can do!
snowvictim Posted October 13, 2014 Doesn't have all the tracks you've listed but it'll give you an idea of what works. You can always "imagine" the specific track onto the layout: http://www.lego.com/en-us/city/trains/track-planner
Man with a hat Posted October 13, 2014 Well, if you are going to do a digital lay-out first you should try BlueBrick instead. I think it works really well.
Luke_likes_Lego Posted October 18, 2014 Hi all, As Euan wants to run on a Mac, Bluebrick isn't 'off the shelf' in the way that the LEGO track planner is and would need a .NET application (Bluebrick site gives a link to Mono) to run. I'd suggest it's well worth the effort though, I really like the layering and easy addition of new sets in Bluebrick (haven't run it on a Mac myself yet though). Cheers, LLL
AgentRick Posted October 18, 2014 Searching for Mac programs I stumbled upon http://www.railmodeller.com/ , which happens to have a 9V set of tracks along with 12V and Monorails too. The only downside is you can't save the layouts from the free demo (But you can always screencap them for later use).
