Hi all, not sure if this is the right place to put this ...but ...I recently purchased a Simpsons Mini Fig Set of 16 from shopforme. When i opened the box i found the set of 16 had all been opened and the mini figs all thrown into one massive zip lock bag. I thought that if you paid full retail price for "new" items you should receive them in their packets, unopened and in new condition? Has any body else had this done to them? and what is your thoughts on this? Thanx and interested to read your replies, cheers Pete.

I guess it all depends on what the advert said about the items you were purchasing. Did it say they would be unopened or bagged individually etc?

When buying specific Minifigures like this, they have often been opened to check that the character is indeed correct and then they are sealed back in the original bag or put in a plastic bag. They are classed as 'New' as they have had minimal handling and have not been 'Used', just checked.

Sometimes you buy them completely sealed as the seller has used the 'feel' method so did not need to open the packet.

I don't think that is good customer service, if you buy something "new" you expect it to instantly give that impresion when you open your package. Anything else is a bit disappointing. Most of my experiences with buying like that is from BL, and buying individual bricks, and here the standard varies greatly. Mostly when you buy bricks that are listed as new, people pack the bricks in bags for each kind, but I have had the come loose in a box with no wrapping on anything. To me that kind of makes it "uesd" when it arrives, after being rumbled and bumbled on the way.

In your case I would say each figure should at least be in its now bag, and packed in a secured way.

Once I bought a new video game from GameStop and it had been opened, taken the Club Nintendo points out, closed, and put back in the slipcover. So not really new.

Pretty unrelated but felt I had to share.

I instead believe they were right.

They are mystery bags, ok you can feel them. But what if someone was wrong?

I mean, it is possible, if they are sealed, that you say "ehy, one was the wrong one, I have two milhouse and zero ralf" EVEN if you got the complete collection.

In this way, paypal claim and you keep both the minifigures and the money.

Actually I am sorry for squizz but I believe they did their work properly.

I understand why they opened it to make sure, but I feel they should have mentioned it on they're product page. It's not everyone who has the same level of knowledge as us AFOLs on why they need to open them to sure it's the right minifig.

Most CMF resellers will open packages to confirm, since the bumpcodes can be difficult to read and they want to be sure you are getting what you paid for. Most will tape the original polybag back up, others will repackage in new baggies.

It seems odd to me that they just threw everything in a big bag... that's not "normal" in my experience. But it's pretty labor-intensive to flip minifigs for only $1 markup each... so they just got lazy when it came to repackaging everything carefully.

That's why I asked what it actually said on the advert, as if they said the Minifigures came individually bagged then they are not as advertised and you are within your rights to claim a refund.

I do agree that if I received them all thrown in together I'd be very annoyed, if I thought they were going to be separate.

I once purchased a second hand Creator Town House from ebay and though the pieces were in good nick, the seller had bagged the lot together in once massive carrier bag. I was not impressed. Pieces could scratch or dent each other whilst all bunched together and thrown about in the post.

I certainly wouldn't have expected completely unopened from a commercial retailer (even a bricklink store), since they must verify the accuracy. All dumped into one zip-loc is bad service, though.

If you've ever ordered "new" bricks from S@H pick-a-brick, you'll get them packed generally far worse than most bricklink sellers...

Thanx for all the replies team. I understand now the reason for openning the individual mini fig packs. What i find not up to standard as others have stated here, is the dumping of all the mini figs into a large zip lock bag for shipping? Say for instance i was going to sell a M.F , i would pack it in a small, more apropiate size bag for shipping to protect it. If i where shipping the set, each M.F would be in a seperate bag. Thats my 2 cents worth.....Has anyone else here recieved this set from the same shop? And if so, i am curious as to wether they received it the same way? Cheers and thanx again, Pete.
