Aliencat Posted March 29, 2009 This is a Necron Heavy Destroyer, as seen in the Warhammer 40K game. Here is a picture of the figure as it comes from the Games Workshop for Warhammer 40K tabletop gaming. Mine is slightly different, you may notice the carrier body is longer and narrower, and I changed/added some details cause I thought it looked sleeker that way. The result is a Necron Heavy Destroyer that's 48 studs long without the gun, and 96 studs including the gun: Click for bigger picture I also gave it a stand it can stand on: Click for bigger picture Click for bigger picture And finally, here's the Brickshelf folder containing detail photos

jifel Posted March 29, 2009 OMG! 40K! (and Necrons to boot. ) I assume this is purposely scaled up, right? An amazing MoC, I simply love it! jifel
Batbrick Posted March 29, 2009 This is so awesome, brilliant design on the robot skeleton face there, as well as other features. The left arm with hand looks great, but man is that a huge gun! Great work, and a neat stand too, how did you make the two sides of the base of the robot angled like that? Batbrick Away!
Peppermint_M Posted March 29, 2009 That is huge! Really cool, I'll have to send a link to my 40k playing friend. What sort of joint system are you using? All I can build with is the ball and socket and friction pegs from exo force.
Aliencat Posted March 30, 2009 (edited) Hey thanks for the comments :) how did you make the two sides of the base of the robot angled like that? Just basic technic connection like this: Wedged it in between enough plates and body parts to make it impossible to move. What sort of joint system are you using? All I can build with is the ball and socket and friction pegs from exo force. I used one of those exo-force locking joints for the shoulder, the elbow simply uses two of these. It's perfectly strong enough to pose him, but he can't lift anything with his arm. Edited March 30, 2009 by Aliencat
Asuka Posted March 31, 2009 A very detailed and cool work. The torso looks impressive and I like especially that fancy spine section. The gauss cannon´s groovy and the arm looks pretty dangerous with these red claws... or´s this a Lady Necron, perhaps? Never mind, there´re no lipstick traces to see at all and these teeth´re made for biting, without doubt. The skimmer craft part looks simply superb and the nice stand´s a fine addition. Maybe the shoulder gun looks a tad too smooth with that coned muzzle...
The Crazy One Posted April 2, 2009 Very good work you have there. 100% on detail. I used to collect Necrons, so i really like that model.
Batbrick Posted April 4, 2009 Just basic technic connection like this: Wedged it in between enough plates and body parts to make it impossible to move. Thanks for the reply Aliencat, and thanks for the example, what a neat trick! I hope you don't mind if I ever use this one, because it's so simple and clever. Batbrick Away!
