Bob's Burgers is a favorite show of mine, so I decided to take a crack at it and see what their apartment/restaurant might look like in Lego form. This was actually going to be an Ideas submission too, because why not. Funnily enough it didn't pass inspection because it's based on an IP that isn't suitable by Lego standards. As much as I love Lego as a company I find that completely laughable as Bob's Burgers is a TV-PG show, the same rating the Simpsons carries. It's even more ridiculous when you consider that the Big Bang Theory is a TV-14 show and currently has a Lego Ideas set sitting on shelves. This is to say nothing of the PG-13 movies that have been turned into Lego sets (Lest we all forget Red Harrington the brothel owner featured in set 79108!). Granted Bob's Burgers does on occasion push the envelope, but I don't really think anymore than the Simpsons or Big Bang does.

I've been on a Bob's Burger building kick for a while now and I have images and posts and reposts scattered all over the interweb so I thought I'd create a single thread for them all. I started with the titular restaurant and then quickly built the two adjacent buildings - Mort's Funeral Home and Butt Stuff Underwear Shop. These have already been shown in an existing thread in the Town Forum (but for the sake of completeness I've included them here) Then I built the Food Truck. Here's how they looks altogether during one of our LUGs displays. Complete with a cast of a bunch of rats and the collapsed power pole. Then I started on a Tina silhouette (and yes the wooden deck needed staining). Then I attempted a maxi-sized Louise and Tina. Here's Louise. I wasn't happy with Tina - she was too fragile and looked like a very poorly executed child's Toy and so I put her to one side for a while. Then it occurred to me! Why not embrace the craptitude and turn her into a Tina Inaction Figure complete with gaudy packaging. Comments & ridicule most welcome.

MOC: 8-bit Tina Belcher I've been on a bit of a Bob's Burgers building binge for the last couple of months. First, Bob's Restaurant, then the Food Truck, then Mort's Funeral Home and Crematorium, then finally Butt Stuff - the building next door. I thought I'd finally shaken off the obsession, but I guess I couldn't let it go. First it was a silhouette then I built my first maxi-fig sculpture. And both are of Tina, naturally. Here's the silhouette. It's entirely SNOTted. And here's the maxi-fig sculpture. The arms are articulated, but movement is somewhat limited by the top of the sleeves, the fingers are also moveable, the face was built upside down and it was bloody cold outside when I took the pictures. MOC: It's Your Funeral & Butt Stuff If you're a fan of Bob's Burgers the title of this post will hopefully make a lot of sense. If you're not then next door to Bob's restaurant there's a Funeral Home owned by the wig-wearing Mort. On the other side of the restaurant there's a shop that has a different owner every week complete with a terrible pun - I couldn't resist the idea of a printed pair of baggy Y-fronts on a Lego transparent panel so I went with Butt Stuff Underwear Outlet. Here's a street level view Source images of the Butt Stuff building were especially difficult to locate. The best image I found was a screen grab from an episode (the wife got very used to me pausing the show and grabbing my phone to capture a particular view And here's the approximate view of the MOCs Mort's It's Your Funeral Home & Crematorium Butt Stuff Underwear Outlet That's me done now! I've now built the restaurant, the two adjacent buildings and the Burger Van. It's time for a break from Bob's Burgers - unless of course I start on Jimmy Pesto's Pizzeria! MOC: Bob's Burgers Restaurant I was challenged to build the restaurant from the TV show. It's been an excellent adventure into the deepest parts of teh interweb as I tried to grab as much source material as possible. Some of it was contradictory - indeed I found three different roof lines used in various episodes (I finally settled on the most frequently used one).
