Very good decals again Woody! According to the pictures they are very accurate and detailed.

The only thing what is buggin me are the white hats, they are awesome customs ofcourse, but I think you really should paint them black. :pir-grin:

Otherwise, great job again!

Are you planning to make a very large battle diorame somewhere in the future? That would be awesome!

Makes me think of Stratego...

Nice customs and posing. It has to be hard to match those pics so well especially any poses that rely on bent elbows.

Decals exceptional.

Here's the material description.

http://www.shapeways.com/materials/

I'm using WSF and polished WSF. Also White Detailed, FD and FUD are proper choices with smoother surfaces but also more expensive.

incredible, the 3D printer will be a revolution. For now the results I'm still a little "porous"

is less tiring, your way of my, compliments.

Do you mean the porous surface?

If so, then that's true in the photos. But if you minimize the photos on the screen to minifig size, you won't see it.

forgive, is professional deformation by modelist,we are too perfectionists. :pir-sweet:

an example of my patience. Polish Lancers en 54mm (height of the figure)

Polish Lancer 1

Polish Lancer 2

one of the two you should see, without login.

these are good! but is it possible to make the swords and hats look a little less bumpy? it looks odd with everything else so smooth.

sei perfezionista?

Since I've done 54mm very long (decades) ago I can see some incredible details ....

Yeah that's the unsolved topic by now:

- the surface of the material results in this bumpy look. But that's only so clear visible in the macro zoom of the photos. The photos are often 2 or 3 times larger ... There's already the smoothed version of the WSF material (pWSF) which is much better then before.

- there are 2 further materials available which result in a much smoother look even on the bigger pictures but they are far more expensive.

Here's a photo of the other material:

Here's oncemore the result of pWSF showing the Minifigs in a comparable size to above and also in a compareable size to the original Minifig size. Any you see it's not that visible ...

how did these hats work out? make em yourself? anyone got a tutorial?

The procedure is:

- 3d design via cad program

- upload to shapeways

- ordering

- shapeways uses 3d printers to build the items

- after receiving applying a coat of acrylic colors.
