This is a test mission for the work-in-progress Heroica 2.0, and is meant only for the six selected players to participate in. If you are curious about the game's development, have a suggestion for a rule change, or want to comment on the quest's progress, please visit the Heroica RPG 2.0 discussion thread. The events of this quest are, as of now, non-canon - any story content or lore seen may or may not be part of the final game. ------------- Untold ages ago, societies across the galaxy broke their terrestrial bonds, and took to the cosmos. Countless beings now wandered through space, seeking glory among the stars. Six such individuals were doing just that, united by a common employer, a common point of departure, and a common goal. Six agents of Heroica were on a ship from Heroica Station, en route to the planet Gnorra - in hopes of saving an egg of a critically endangered species. However, in a celestial sea dominated by speedy spacecraft and imposing dreadnoughts, the agents of Heroica found their current vessel to be a bit, ah... Humble. Humble was a good word for it. And so the (once bright emerald, but now more of a sandy green) Initium cruised through the depths of space, carrying the party of heroes-to-be towards their ultimate objective. It was a reliable enough vessel, fast enough to get to Gnorra in a reasonable time, but a bit sparse when it came to luxuries. The cramped bridge was a testament to that. Six chairs corresponded to the six people aboard, embarking on adventure. And those six individuals were: The Party: Igaz (Goliath) 300 Cycle, Male Undead Vitality: 7/7 Strength: 2 Skill: 2 Smarts: 1 Spirit: 1 Proficiencies: Athletics 1, Intimidation 1, Melee Weapons 2, Short Range Weapons 1 Credits: 10 Equipment: Standard Vibrolance (+1, Melee Kinetic Weapon), Standard Plate Armor (+1 Kinetic Armor) Inventory: Shield Booster Kleeck (KotZ) 35 cycle old, male Ornithun Vitality: 5/5 Strength: 1 Skill: 2 Smarts: 2 Spirit: 1 Proficiencies: Persuasion 2, Culture 1, Short Range Weapons 1, Insight 2, Deception 1 Credits: 60 Equipment: Standard Plasma Blaster (+1, Short Range Energy Weapon), Translator Cube Inventory: Ensonvilterayquis (Enson) (Lord Duvors) 60 cycle old, Male Quo’ri Vitality: 6/6 Strength: 2 Skill: 2 Smarts: 1 Spirit: 2 Proficiencies: Melee Weapons 2, Medicine 1, Religion 2 Credits: 10 Equipment: Standard Void Star Hammer (+1, Melee Elemental Weapon) Inventory: Nanite Filter, Plasma Potion Dunola (Kintobor) 125 cycle old, Female Dwarf Vitality: 5/5 Strength: 1 Skill: 1 Smarts: 1 Spirit: 3 Proficiencies: Arcana 3, Culture 1, Short Range Weapons 1, Engineering 1 Credits: 10 Equipment: Standard Flame Thrower (+1, Short Range Elemental Weapon), Holo-Scroll Inventory: Energy Cell Tester-Three (samurai-turtle) One Cycle Old, Genderless, War Bot {Robotic} Vitality: 6/6 Strength: 2 Skill: 1 Smarts: 2 Spirit: 1 Proficiencies: Technology 2, Long Range Weapons 2, Piloting 1, Perception 1, Engineering 1, Credits: 10 Equipment: Standard Arm Cannon (+1, Long Range Energy Weapon), Standard Metallic Exoskeleton (+1 Kinetic Armor) Inventory: Shield Booster Yelana Fennix (Classic_Spaceman) Unknown Age Human Female Vitality: 6/6 Strength: 2 Skill: 2 Smarts: 1 Spirit: 1 Proficiencies: Deception 2, Long Range Weapons 2, Technology 2 Credits: 10 Equipment: Dual-Mode Sniper Rifle E (+1, Long-Range Energy Weapon), Dual-Mode Sniper Rifle K (+1, Long-Range Kinetic Weapon) Inventory: Cloaking Generator, Hacking Chip ----- Truth be told, it wasn't all so bad - although their six seats were packed together like sardines, there was not that much need to linger on the bridge for too long. After all, one of Heroica's many trusty nav droids was at the helm, operating the trio of control panels at his mechanical fingertips with programmed precision. The lack of warning sirens, space turbulence, loud noises, and flashing lights was a testament to their current pilot's expertise. "Let's see... All systems green... Fuel deposits plentiful... Wings stable... Destination will be reached in two hours... Feel like I'm forgetting something... Landing gear! When the time comes, which one of these operates the landing gear..." A consummate professional, down to his circuits. He soon turns to face his passengers as the Initium chugs along. "Ah, never mind that. Welcome aboard, Agents of Heroica!" Mission Master Note: Hello and welcome to Mission Zero, everybody! The six of you ( @Kintobor, @samurai-turtle, @Classic_Spaceman, @Goliath, @KotZ, @Lord Duvors) have 24 - 36 hours to confirm participation. Settle in, get roleplaying, and get ready for the ride.

All is ice. You lived among a small hamlet of hunter-gatherers, until all the animals went insane. Kicking, screaming, biting, they are unhuntable-and the woods that you would pillage for sustenance are now barred off by these creatures. A vote was taken; You and your companions were your starving tribe’s only hope! Traveling the tundra, loosing countless stragglers along the way, you have journeyed to find any way to halt the madness and save your tribe! Now, you have reached the foot of the Unholy Mountains. In the distance, you can see a strange display of lights. What do you do? "So you are brave my young ones, aren't you? Have you heard of the times that the Lord of Evil himself rose from the seven Hells upon his black monolith, blacker than darkness, and spread terror to the lands? So many brave souls were lost at those times... So many friends and soulmates! Heroes are not made like they used to, stern and strong, full of courage and honour! Where it for Mephistopheles to rise again, would you pick up the arms and magic to face him? Would you sacrifice your soul even to fight on the side good! Would you my little ones?" So this is a dungeon for the mini campaign "Evil Rising", in Heroica scale for my f2p dungeon crawler game (more info in here). Not much like the other mocs around here but it is all mine... Hope you like the theme! Mitsman

The agents of Heroica Hall are surprised one morning to see the Menahi, Nondos Aghonzath, and a cybernetic enhanced Daraki stacking miscellaneous objects under a Vorbanian Oak tree "Happy Yul'Yom Agents!" The frustrated Ornithun accountant, Kreiri, walks into the hall. "Nondos! Who authorized this? Where in budget was there a line item for Yul'Yom gifts? Do you have any idea how tight things are right now?" "Tight. BWAHAHAHA! Don't you worry your pretty feathery head Ms. Kreiri, I discussed things with Wranquen. He assured me we could afford it. Besides, the heroes enjoy a bit of respite and holiday cheer, it was getting a might gloomy around here!" Thorvald pipes up from behind the bar. "Hrmph... and what's wrong with gloomy?" "Oh don't be a Kruge, Thorvald. Get out the 'nog, pour the mulled-wine, it's time to celebrate Yul'Yom!" The Daraki having finished arranging the odd assortment of baked goods, luggage, and furniture around the tree finally speaks up. "Verily friend Nandos, p'rhaps t wouldst be beneficial to enlighten our bosom companions as to the nature of Yul'yom?" "Surely everyone knows about Yul'Yom, no? Very well then a tale I shall tell!" The Menahi grabs a tankard of mulled wine and settles in beside the tree. "Long ago the ancestors of the O’Kor’uk were enslaved by species of evil folk known as the Vol’Kor’iin. The holiday is in remembrance of that first Yul'Yom, the great Day of Preparation, when the O’Kor’uk made ready to in concert rise up against their Vol’Kor’iin oppressors and win their freedom. In the legend it is said that the smiths and bakers of the O'Kor'uk hid the weapons of revolution in loaves of bread so as not to be discovered by their overlords. Modern day participants of Yul'Yom may not hide blades within baguettes, but still enjoy hiding gifts for their friends and families in oddly shaped or inconspicuous wrappings and making a game of guessing what could be hidden in such misleading packages. Adherents of the Boundless Sky faith carried the tradition with them all throughout the galaxy after the O'Kor'uk Scattering and it later became co-opted by many other cultures. It's a personal favorite of mine and old Vazrurg here." "Tis indeed a chance most noble to remind one the bonds we forge in battle and in life." "Couldn't have said it better old friend! Now agents, why don't you come here and each choose something!" ~*To celebrate this Yul'Yom, all players can pick an item from the list below. All you must do is to state what item you wish to be given. Players currently on missions may also participate and submit their choices. You can choose the same gift as someone else. The gifts will be revealed at the end of December and roughly correspond to the shape of the item chosen.*~ Gifts - Apple - Bagpipes - Baguette - Balloon - Book - Briefcase - Broom - Cake - Chair - Croissant - Fancy Bottle - Milk Pail - Swim Ring - Teapot - Telescope - Trumpet - Turkey - Violin Case - Watering Can

Having heard the call, the heroes navigate the busy corridors of Ebria Station towards the Northern Docks. There, they congregate in the spacious Hart Logistics hanger. They are overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the space; crewmembers dart back and forth around them as shuttles and freighters come in to land and take-off. Support vehicles whirl in every direction, ferrying supplies across the dock. Giant command towers stand at the walls of the hanger, commanding traffic. Beyond the gate shielding, the heroes can see the wide expanse of space beyond. Lost in all the hustle and bustle of the station, the heroes find themselves gathering together on the hangar floor. --- The heroes step out of the transport shuttle’s docking bay and into the packed and humid terminal of Docking Terminal 12. Gaudy, brightly lit screens advertise a variety of products and services; seemingly at every turn of one’s head a barrage of advertisements awaited. A busker band’s lively performance of old-timey music echoes throughout the mezzanine, just audible over the sound of constant chatter and moving feet. The enticing smells of food vendor’s stalls mixes with the humidity of such a mass of people, from ytaaxi, to humans, to dwarves, to chimerans: it seems no one individual looks alike in the hustle and bustle of the crowd. Beyond the dirty terminal windows the party can see a never-ending skyline of high rise skyscrapers and speeders zipping about, as well as incoming and outgoing passenger spacecraft. Like a twinkling star, orbiting the planet the heroes can make out the shape of the Queen of Harts Casino and Resort, the station’s glitter and gleam twinkling in the purple evening sky as the sun sets over the horizon. Even though it’s late, the city planet of Cosmopoli does not sleep. Over the intercom, a shrill, raspy voice broadcasts departure times of commercial space cruisers and the arrival of privately owned transport shuttles. Moving their way through the crowded mezzanine, the party eventually finds a figure matching the description of their patron. Leaning back on a bench, a young, well dressed human man sits as his shoes are shined by a scruffy looking dwarf. The human’s tailored suit and styled hair exuded playful fashion. Noticing the heroes approach, the man tips the shoe shiner and stands up, brushing his suit down of any potential wrinkles and double checking his haircut in the reflection of the grimy windows before turning back to greet the heroes. “Ey, Heroica I take it? Thank goodness you guys showed up. The name’s Antony Bardeu, I’m your client. How’s it going? Better than I’m doing, I expect?” -Heroes- Designation: B3R5 - 3rk (Dutch Thriceman) Age: Unknown, Gender: Mechanical, Race: Adamite Character Points: 0 / 10 Vitality: 6 / 6 Velocity: 2 Strength: 3 Skill: 2 Smarts: 1 Spirit: 1 Proficiencies: Melee Weapons 2, Intimidation 1, Athletics 1 Known Spells: None Credits: 10 Equipment: Chain-Greatsword (Standard Kinetic Weapon) Mecha-Plate (Standard Kinetic Armour), Shield Booster Kirwin (karmajay)Age: Unknown, Gender: Unknown , Species: AdamiteCharacter Points: 1/10Vitality: 5/5Velocity: 1Strength: 1Skill: 1Smarts: 3Proficiencies: Coding 1, Culture 1, Engineering 2, Explosives 1, Technology 2 Credits: 0Equipment: Drone (Standard Long Range Elemental Weapon), Utility BeltInventory: (2) Hampering, Contained Elemental Grenades, Plasma Potion Yissam♥ (CMP) 141-year-old feminine Stratitarian Character Points: 0/10 Vitality: 5/5 Velocity: 1 Strength: 1 Skill: 1 Smarts: 2 Spirit: 3/3 Proficiencies: Coding 1, Culture 2, Occult 1, Performance 1 Known Spells: Entropic Mending, Spirit Ally, Tongues Credits: 10 Equipment: Prism Gauntlet (Standard long-range elemental weapon), AV Rig Inventory: Essence of Glibness, Essence of Intellect Merei Teo Age 24 Female, Helioi-Touched Celestial (Born Menahi) Character Points: 0/10Vitality: 5/5Velocity: 2Strength: 1Skill: 2Smarts: 2Spirit: 3Proficiencies: Occult 1, Religion 1, Coding 1, Insight 1Known Spells: Healing Light, Solar Flare, Gravity SinkCredits: 0Equipment: Teo Family Pocket-Watch (Kinetic Weapon), Utility Belt (Grants +1 Engineering or Medicine Check Success) Inventory: Æther Brew, Essence of Intellect MM Note: Welcome to Mission #4! The heroes of the Crescent Union slowly assemble at the palace of the Ji Pei where they are greeted by Jun and his mother. "What a fine selection of expertise we have before us." "Indeed mother, some of the very best of the Union. Heroes, I know that a good majority of you did not agree with my position as it regards this undertaking, but I am thankful for your offer to assist and to follow the will of our community. Hopefully you will indeed discover as I have the great opportunity that lies in Xu for the excellent people of this city." "It is certainly more than some would think they deserve." "Let us get on to the details. While we have confirmation from the rulers in Xu that the land is ours to use, we still must ensure that the way between here and there is safe for the transportation of the settlers. Master Legonardo and the Tritech Corporation are seeing to the construction of new airships for the means of transportation however, because of their size they will not be able to reach the altitude of some of Vincent's more advanced dirigibles." At this point the famous inventor's assistant enters the room. "What he means to say, is with the possibility of hundreds of people on board we can't risk keeping them all up thousands of feet above the ground. We need to plot a course to Xu that is quick and relatively safe." "Ah, Dr. Gioconda, right on time. Indeed, now looking at a map of Olegaia, we've charted the best route is over Pyr, through the Strait of Seirenes, past the southern border of Babeleth, across the Jade Sea and straight on to Xu." "There's a colony of Sirens in that strait that we're going to need to deal with and then we're going to need to build a refueling station in either Salamanda or Babeleth." "I'll leave that to you heroes to sort out. Once you're in Xu, make sure that the settlement is secure and hasn't been over-run by monsters or anything." "We'll be taking the Destiny's Bounty, is there anything you heroes need before we depart?" The alpha direwolf tears through the brush, it's legs carrying it as fast as possible. The sense of urgency and danger was foreign to the great creature, and so his mind was only focused on one thing: fleeing. An ear-splitting noise booms from behind him. His brain can only process it for a moment before the sound crashes into his body. Bones break, muscles snap, and the direwolf meets his end. It's early morning when five adventurers set out. Another day, another quest, and another uneventful trek through the streets of Eubric. Now perfectly familiar with the winding corridors of the city, they keep their eyes on the road, trying to avoid confrontation with Eubric's more eccentric denizens. The Heroes all arrive at the Docks at relatively the same time. There, they see a brown wooden ship, trimmed with black. Various sailors and workers are bustling around on the ship loading and unloading cargo. A seagull lands on the railing only to be quickly shooed away by what looks like the captain of the ship. The seagull squawks and flaps its wings away. Then, a glint of light catches the Heroes' eyes. They look to the left on towards the poopdeck. They see the glint is coming from a small, blue gem held by a man in a darker blue shirt and bright green pantaloons. His eyes hold a look of aloofness under the mop of blonde hair on his head. "There they are! Some of Heroica's finest warriors!" The man casts an eye towards Miderun and Annienal. "And some of the prettiest ones if I might add." The blonde man pockets the gem and walks down towards the gangplank and waves the Heroes on and they follow. "My name is Fabio Sumero. My brother Javier posted the notice about the acquisition of some of the rare dyes from the island of Tridentia." Fabio bows low to the Heroes in greeting. He then looks to the two women and says to the entire group, but directed towards the girls, "Perhaps you've seen some of the Sumero Family's work." Fabio then casually pushes a stray lock of hair back. "Do any of you have any questions?" Three fresh heroes, right off the presses, wander through the streets of Eubric trying to find their way to the docks. The city is a sprawling mess, and often times they end up in a back alley with no way out and have to retrace their steps. Their attempts to ask for directions go a little awry as well. "Just head to the water, you can't miss it!" "Diz is ridic-u-lous. You muzt know where it iz. 'Oo does not know where de docks are?" "What, ya not going to buy anything?!" "Oh, I wish I'd be invited to go places sometimes. Tell them Ratabor says hi... not that they know me. Oh, I wish I was invited places." Following a meandering trail they do eventually end up at the bay, and make their way along the wharfs until they see a small dingy at the edge of a run-down dock. The man on the boat is singing loudly, and on dock next to him stands a sailor and the U'Kin from the hall. The heroes approach. They are: Karl (surname unknown) (Bionicle_fanatic) 18 year old male human Rogue Level 1 Power Bonus: 0 Health: 7 Gold: 10 Equipment: Shuriken (WP:3) Inventory: Potion, Venom, Bedroll Boris Bruhalv (Waterbrick Down) 38 year old male vampire Cleric Level 1 Power Bonus: 0 Health: 9/9 Ether: 5/5 Gold: 10 Equipment: Simple Mace (WP: 3, mace) Inventory: Potion, Remedy Keliim the cruel (Mencot) Age 35, male human Barbarian Level 1 Power: 1 Health: 8/8 Gold: 10 Equipment: Rusty one handed battleaxe (WP: 3) Inventory: Potion, Mead "If all the bullocks, be forgot, and marry many wives, if all the banquets be you got, then that's the time to dine." "My good friend, I am not entirely sure that you have the words correct!" "Bull." The man in the dingy spits into the ocean. The heroes, lingering back a little ways, notice the stench of booze and the slurring of words. Apparently all three of these fellows had just come from the bars. "Are you certain you'll be make it home, Lane, you're certain?" "Course I will!" Lane holds up the frying pan he has in hand. "Got my paddle, got my presents and rations-" he jerks his thumb, indicating a chest in the back. "And got a companion too. Damn rascal will keep me safe." Lane leans in close to the others in an attempt to whisper, but he fails. "Don't tell no one, but I think this dog is magic. Did I tell you how I found him? A bunch a' frogs came up to my front door and left him there. Weird stuff, out there." Lane looks down at the water. "Hel, I think the tide is going out. This is how I get home every year boys. The rides more pleasant than the visit, I'll tell you that. 'Sides, look like your heroes are here." He points to the heroes, and raises his voice. "Don't sink any good for nothing ships this time, you bastards!" And with that he dips the frying pan into the ocean and begins to paddle away. "Ah, hello heroes, my name is U'Ordiussum and hello to you her-" "You can call him U'Or. Much easier." The other man offers his hand. "My name is Captain Elba. Sorry for having you meet us here. We were just seeing off our friend, Captain Lane. I was a Bonaparte once. And when you're on the sea..." Elba's eyes mist over a little: "Friendship runs deep. It has to. I love working for Guffington, but... well, U'Or and Daneeka are wonderful friends, but they aren't really the sea-faring type." "I get queasy on the sea I get queasy." "So, first things are first. Before we head out, I'd like to know who I'm adventuring around with today. What are your names, boys?" OoC: Mencot, if you could post a smaller icon (we usually go with 100x100) that'd be great. Fantatic, I see you have 10 gold and a bedroll. Not sure how that's possible, as I believe you'd have to buy a bedroll, but perhaps someone gifted it to you?

A dark figure strides through the halls of Eschaton. His cane echoed in the silence with every tap - he didn't need it for walking, but it concealed something else he needed - and his wings bounced up and down with every step. The figure stares out through the stained glass windows, his shadow washed out in their projected light, and smiles momentarily. He finds himself in front of a pair of ivory doors, and with a slight nudge, steps into his master's chamber. "Today is the day." The dragon seemed distant. "Yes. It is." "...Why do we do this anymore, boss? You probably knew what these representatives were going to say before you even sent out for them - I know your visions have only gotten better over time. So why bother risking Eschaton's secrets with this song and dance? I like these people well enough, but we also must understand that the knowledge in Eschaton..." "...Is some of the very same knowledge we had to erase cities for knowing. I'm aware. And you're not entirely correct - I know a myriad paths these people may take. But when it comes to judgment, sometimes the path someone thinks they're walking is the most important of all." "I see. And I trust your judgment. I certainly hope Eubric will, also... No matter what the verdict may be." Back in Eubric... Five heroes assemble in Heroica Hall, as the morning sun lifts itself over the horizon. The Party: Thormanil Nihai, Dragonslayer, Orc-kin (swils) 24 years old male vertically challenged giant Dragoon Siercon (Siercon and Coral) Male, Age and species unknown (Visual appearance of hollow black smoke in human form.) Karie Alderflask-Cour, A True Hero (Kintobor) 24? Year Old Human Female Minstrel Jinnipher Buchaire (JimBee) 76-year-old female Moon Elven Knight Lind Whisperer *Encouraged at half health* * *Immune to Dark* *Double damage to humanoids* *Halved damage from Holy/Light enemies* *1/3 chance of dealing Fragile* *STEALS on rolls of Hide* 22-year-old Human The Dragonlord beckons the party over. He seems tense. "I hope you understand what Eubric is up against, should Immortalis choose to turn against us." QM Note: Welcome to Judgment Day! You have 24 hours to confirm. Right now, I'm leaving your stats out until you all do any marketplace trips.

In a ring of chairs sits five eccentric storytellers, talespinning experts huddled up in one of Uland's more obscure taverns. A friendly, yet slightly unsettling bartender sits to their needs, silently filling up their drinks as they weave story after story, tell yarn after yarn. All of their meeting proceeded this way, all of them sharing stories... Perhaps ones they devised, perhaps ones they witnessed. Who can say? The meeting was now in full swing, one story already reaching its conclusion. One of the oddest of the storytellers takes a drag of his fungal cigar, before clearing his lungs of the noxious fumes. He speaks, clearly and distinctly: "Hmm. A good bloodbath, though I was thinking of spinning a different type of tale. Bloodbaths are so... Impersonal. As if every life lost is just collateral. The tale I have in mind is one of deadly dedication." One of the white-garbed man's compatriots folds his hands on the bar, already ensnared. "A bold proposition. You had me at "deadly", Isaac." Lucas takes another long drag from his pipe, exhaling a large smoke ring. "Don't keep us in suspense! The night is still young, after all." "Hey, it doesn't have to be personal or dedicated - when the sea itself runs red, it won't much matter who's dead. But now that that's all been said..." Val drummed her fingers against the tabletop. "Well, go on, we're all waiting!" "Ah, dear Hellsinger, but where is the build-up or the suspense if we know the what and when? Though I'll admit your tale did awake in me some of those blood-lust feelings of my primordial ancestors. Hidden dedication and intention, now that's a story worth hearing, tell on my glowing friend." The Sharkling ordered a drink bubbling and overflowing with green steam. "Bloodshed has its time and place, but the time has come for a different pace." She catches Val's eye, for a brief moment the faintest hint of a smile teasing at the corners of her mouth. "Speak, Isaac. We await your account." "Very well, friends, very well. You know I am not man of commitment. Hell, I'm surprised I'm still in this society, to be honest. And do you want to know why? Because passion, dedication, obsession... They are the most brutal killers Olegaia has ever seen Fellow Midnight Society Members, I present, for your delectation... The Tale of One Bleach Too Many." ------------------------------------- The two heroes chosen for their task - to rid a man's manor of disturbances - find anote addressed to them, pinned to the questboard. With their objective known and their destination in mind, the two heroes set off. Those two heroes are... Vindsval Half-born (Immune to Fire) (Asphalt) 37 year old, Male, Half Giant, Cleric (immune to Sealed effect) Level: 5 Power: 13 (5+8) (x2 VS Aquatic, Flying, and Mechanical) Defense: 3 (Fiery Robes of the Archmagi) Health: 13/13 (9+4) Ether: 14/14 (5+4+5) Gold: 7 Equipment: Spark Hammer (WP:8, (X2 against Aquatic, Flying, and Mechanical) lightning-elemental hammer) Fiery Robes of the Archmagi (SP:3 Bodywear +5 Ether, immunity to Sealed Effect and Fire) Inventory: Consumables: Remedy X3 , Potion X3, Smoke Bomb X2, Mead X2, Tools: Bed Roll Weapons: Broomstick (WP:7, ranged; suitable for mages, clerics, artisans and necromancers) Artefacts: Tailored Overcoat (SP: 1; Immunity to wind-, earth-, and water- damage; suitable for rangers, rogues, hunters, and beast warriors; back wear) Zunde Xravia (Da Smash Bro) 40 years old male ogre barbarian Level 1 Power: 4 (1 + 3) Defence: 0 (0) Health 8/8 (8) Gold: 10 Equipment: Bronze Axe (WP: 3) Inventory: Potion, Bottle of mead The two set off into the streets of Eubric, a crescent moon hanging above them. However, they soon reach an impasse... They had no idea where the Inn of the Wayward Angel was. They found that they were quite wayward themselves, darting around the streets of Eubric, confounded. Finally, a man weidling a spear stops them. "I've seen you walk past here twice now. Are you lost?"

Quick Acronym Definitions: KKII=Knights Kingdom with the Action Figures; CCBS=Character and Creature Building System used by modern lego action figures; Most of CCBS has been strongly Sci-Fi for the few themes that use it. Most lego action figure themes were also this way. One thing that MoC'ers can definitely use and has a place for on the market is action figures in the fantasy or "medieval" theme. I have a few ideas for things that could definitely work and I would love to see happen. These could and should introduce new pieces for CCBS/Technic building systems for us to make our own creations, or just as cool sets themselves. These are in order of what I see as most possible. In each spoiler for them is a background on what they are and why they could come back. >Knights Kingdom III: >Heroica, the Action Figure Game: [EDIT: I am going to do a more developed writeup of this, the thread is too small and not focused on this new theme idea] >Gauntlet Ultrabuilds: >What I want from any of these ideas: New pieces of course! -More diverse medieval weapons than just swords (something KKII didnt do 'til its final wave but even then they were all still melee barring the siege weapons). Perhaps actual bow-shaped blasters that look better than Fluminox or Jungle Protector's awkward blasters with bows built around them. Maybe some functions for them to each use those weapons. Edit: -Another new piece idea: Magic staff weapons that act as blasters themselves and shoot some sort of elemental projectile that also sits in the staff like an ornament at the top of it. -More organic headpieces. So fall all constraction has given us is the robot heads of BIONICLE and Hero Factory. Also it is arguable that KKII's visor-heads could be included, but they look pretty bad without their visors. A CCBS-compatible head possibly in a similar artstyle to the hero ultrabuilds, that has a little more customizability than the ultrabuilds ones. Maybe a head similar to minifigs: have a head with the organic face and an axle joint hole at the top. Here you could put hair or a helmet or a hood. The ideal helmet would be made to fit on this minifig-esque head similar to other minifig helmets. It would cover the back of the head and part of the sides, but have a visor-attachment joint pair on the sides for helmets. It should also be compatible with BIONICLE 2015 masks that are also built in visor fashion to create new helmets or let someone outside of the BIONICLE line wear a mask in MoCs. -New CCBS Armor shell attachments with a more classic fantasy/medieval design. Current CCBS armor shells are just generic enough to be whatever. There is however, few styles of these attachments. BIONICLE looks like it wil ladd at least one for its style, but we probably wont see the kinds of things in BIONICLE that we could see in a Castle theme. They dont have to be just armor, what if your CCBS characters could have quivers for their crossbows or bows? Sheathes for new swords/polerarms? -Cloaks and Hoods. On rare occasions LEGO would include a cloak "piece" in sets (ie Vezon, Furno XL, King Jayko/Mathias). Short of do-it-yourself custom crafting this is the only way to "clothe" a MoC without using armor. A fantasy theme could bring in armor shells or attachements that are also more robe styled, but that wouldnt look as cool as a (Wizard/Druid/Ranger/Elf) with a cloak on their back as well. Fabric hoods vs full plastic hoods that fit on my suggested head piece would become a new debate similar to stickers vs printeds. -Female characters. This is a dangerous subject in a few ways. It is infamous for the fantasy genre to have sexualized female characters. Those (VERY FEW) that were in the BIONICLE universe did not really have this problem as much of a possibility with them being robots and all (although Roodaka sort of tested that pretty hard tbh). LEGO would have to navigate a really sensitive minefield, but I dont really see why that can't at least try to break the terrible 1:5 female:male ratio. I understand what constractions target audience is, but in part isnt part of the problem in selling to female customers alienating them from the theme before they consider looking at it? -Characters that arent robots. BIONICLE and Hero Factory are awesome, but you have to admit that there were barely any characters that didnt look like full-on robots. Even More New Pieces: -NEW FEET. We finally got new feet for CCBS in IFB. Before that it was pretty much either Piraka Claws or hero feet. This would be as good an oppurtunity as any to bring in new foot parts and break this stale building design. -New Hands. For the same reasons as the feet. Also, unless you are wearing gauntlets or other jointed gloves, the robot hands would look like robot attachments on organic characters (see every Ultrabuild). This is the perfect oppurtunity to fix that, with BIONICLE not really leaving space for this. (New Hands and Feet are probably more likely to happen in a series that isnt just one wave) EDIT: Updated HEROICA EDIT2: I feel like the Heroica idea could grow a lot more and I might add to it as the ideas come to me. This is mostly a speculation sort of a thing for me. I definitely feel like the Heroica is the coolest option and would probably go to Cuusoo with it if I had the resources and the know-how. So what do you think? Any ideas?

"Dragonlourd, you of all personnes zhould know why I can non trust--" "Heroes. Running behind as usual, I see." The Dragonlord is the first to look up, but unlike the girl he smiles, a boisterous grin spreading across his face as he sights the Heroes. "Heroes! Good to see some fresh blood in the organization--though of course, a couple of you have done some good work for us already." Dragonlord nods in acknowledgement of Siercon and Kiray, though Count Shadeaux merely frowns more deeply than he already was. "Are you all ready for this adventure?" "Mon Dieu, Dragonlord, you speak like zis is un plaisir voyage and non an imminente catastrophe!" What will the party do? QM Note: Welcome to the Quest, 104ers! Hope you're excited as I am! Please check to make sure your stats are correct, and if you make any marketplace posts, I'll be sure to update these. You have 24 hours to confrim. Siercon, some of your stats were off; if you've used any consumables that permanently altered your stats, could you please link me to them? Also, since you are only Level 6, you can only have one Artifact equipped at a time; I've left the Robe of the Magi since that was what you already had equipped. Daeth and The Chosen Minifigure, you had both included your images as attachments rather than as image links from other sites. I have taken the liberty of uploading them to my Photobucket account (and in the case of Warlen and Quarion resizing them to normal size), you can now use them in the future by typing the following: Warlen: [img=http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii33/poochythegenius/Avatar%20uploads/Warlen_ava.png] Quarion: [img=http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii33/poochythegenius/Avatar%20uploads/Quarion_ava.png] Daeth: [img=http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/ii33/poochythegenius/Avatar%20uploads/YujiDaethAva.png]

With a map from the library, the heroes go for their first foray around Eubric on the job for the very first time. Navigating through the winding trails of the bustling city, they watch as the sky turns from a blue to a dim gray... The pair of amatuer heroes soon see their destination in sight. Those two heroes were... Darksten (Comrade Commander) 35 year old Male Human Ranger Level 1 Power: 4 Health: 6/6 Gold: 5 Equipment: Crossbow (WP: 3) Inventory: Potion, Smoke bomb, Bedroll Hoang Anh (hoanganhbeo) 20 years old Male Human Knight Level 1 Power: 4 Defense: 2 Health: 10/10 Gold: 5 Equipment: Sword (WP: 3); Shield (SP: 2) Inventory: Potion, Bedroll The ranger and the knight, not sensing any confrontation ahead, head towards the toweing Hovels wall. From what little they know of the city, this recently-erected monument was the one thing seperating the poor from the rest of the city... A guard stands vigil in front of the wall, brandishing a spear. He looks at the motley pair, tipping his spear in their direction. "Halt. What is your business here?" How will the party respond? QM Note: Comrade Commander and Hoanganhbeo, welcome to Heroica! If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask: I just request that each of you post in this thread within the next 24 hours.

My son and I were very excited when Heroica and board games came out. They were fun and interesting and had lots of customizations open. We started to play around and also watch for new sets but a while back Lego announced that the board game line is now discontinued. We want more heroes and monsters so have been going nuts with making stickers. They allow for quick customization, many different humanoids, and don't damage the original ink. Heads and bodies can be swapped also. Works great! There are many other pics posted at the Knotty Toad Custom Lego facebook page, and under Heroica X on flickr.

I'm just emerging from a LEGO dark age after a 4 year break, mainly due to 2 relocations and not having enough space for my LEGO until now! Anyway after grabbing a couple of new sets, I have decided I want to get back to doing some software. Mostly I've been inspired by Heroica, since it reminds me of the Quest part of my Java game I was previously developing. I'm interested in what people think of the official Heroica game system, is it too basic? or does it have lasting appeal? Really I just want to be able to build simple MOCs on my iPad, but the thought of adding a simple game system like Heroica also has a lot of appeal :) I see from the forums here that part of the community have already extended the basic rule set into something quite interesting. I'm wondering if something like that would even translate into an online turn based game, or would it take the fun out of it? I'm just interested in opinions at the moment! The fact that Heroica has been discontinuued is a bit discouraging...

The tale I am about to tell you is, at last, the final chapter. The final chapter of a much, much longer story... That began over three thousand years ago. There is a lonely, remote island in the North. Three thousand years ago, the mages who resided there were slowly dying. The harsh wintry climate allowed neither cattle or steed to survive. Each day for the mages was a constant struggle against the cruel snow. The land was barren and infertile, and desolate of life. Thus, slowly but surely, the mages died one by one in the frigid cold. The greatest evokers among the mages sought to end the misery that plagued their people. Utilizing their greatest treasure, the Lifespark, they banded together and conducted a ritual atop the highest mountaintop. By the ritual's end, they had created a new type of lifeform: a new species was born. The Proggs. Little did they know that their own creation would eventually doom them to an even worse fate then before. The Proggs, when their population grew large enough, rallied against their masters. Led by four freedom fighters, The Mythrogg, Eve, Primii, and Prometheus, their human slave masters being driven into absolute extinction. This human genocide would be reignited once again in Luosh, controlled by the vile Prometheus - now calling himself The Regret. The Proggs were thwarted in this attempt. One by one, the three leaders of the Proggs were vanquished at the hands of the Heroes of Heroica. The Proggs were stopped on that day. But The Regret lived on. Five heroes assemble in the atrium of Heroica Hall. The party stares out of the Hall's many windows as the morning sun lazily rises, absentmindedly sorting their gear for the hardships that would befall them. Silently, each one recalled the wrongdoings of their foes, remembering the injustice he had inflicted upon their organization - or, in one man's case, recalling the atrocities of the "ally" that would be accompanying them. Four heroes make their way through the thin, stone-strewn roads of the Redstone Kingdom, one of the smallest domains in the Low Kingdoms, though a prosperous one. Many a stone- and blacksmith seemed to inhabit the walls; the heroes could hardly walk a block without passing by heated kilns, broken stone, melted metal, and strong, burly men doing their straining work. Housewives seemed to chase children around, warning them that the furnaces were hot and the metal was sharp. Those heroes were... ________________________________________________________________________________________ Annienal Anavir (Kintobor) "19" year old Elven Female Level 1 Knight Power: 4 Health: 10/10 Defence: 2 Equipment: College Shield (SP: 2), College Halberd (WP: 3) Gold: 5 Inventory: Potion, Bedroll Francis Barkley (Captain Settle) 22 year old human ranger Level 1 Power: 4 Health: 6/6 Gold: 5 Equipped: Long Bow (WP 3) Inventory: Potion, Smoke Bomb, Bedroll Alexander Vandangant (Wedge09) 99 years old elf Hunter Level 23.33 Power: 35 (LVL 22+WP 13) Defense: 5 (Chevalier of Charis armor + Tricorne) Health: 36/36 (6 + 20 + 6 + 2 + 2 Chicken Drumstick) Gold: 215 Equipment: Fauxthril Crossbow (WP: 11 13 due to Hunter's Quiver, darkness-, ice-elemental, Hollow Blade upgraded [nothing stored]), Chevalier of Charis armor- (Artifact, bodywear) (Maximum health +2, SP: 2), Tricorne (SP: 3), Hunter's Qiver (WP: +2 to bows and crossbows, allows the hunter to favour two typers at the same time) Inventory: Delfrin Crossbow (WP: 7) • Duplovian Helmets of the Guard (SP: 2, Immune to Magic and Healing), Sterile Gloves (Immune to Poisoned and Bleeding; handwear), Trickster's Mask of the Gender-Swap • Grand Potion, Potions (10), Remedies (2), Tonic (2), Venoms (6), Nostrum, Smoke Bomb, Dirt Bomb, Ice Bomb, Holy Bomb, Fire Bomb (2), Military Grade Fire Bomb, Lightning Bob, Elven Bomb, First Aid Kit (Consumable), Meads (3), Weak potion (2), Weak Regeneration Potion (1), Weak Regeneration Tonic (1), Smelling Salt (2), Mithril Shard (1/4 of a piece of Mithril), Big Apple, Bones (6), Skeleton Decoy, Charcoal • Bedroll, Shovel, Telescope, Magic Compass, Magnifying Glass Bartholomew Docken, Dragonslayer (Brickdoctor) 34-year-old human male, Warden Level 44 *Gains Triple XP* *Takes Halved Damage from Free Hits* *Scary* *Immune to Defense Reduction, Removal of Positive Effects, Confusion, Blindness, Poison, Fragile, Fire, Earth, Wind, and Sudden Death* *Counterstriking* Power: 54 (Level 44 + WP: 10) (Power Bonus: 0) Defense: 23 (SP: 20 + SP: 3) Health: 76/76 (base HP: 6 + Level bonus: 43 + Class bonus: 8 + permanent boost: 19*) Gold: 1166 (1 Gold loaned to Lord Lawrence Boomingham [Zepher]) GP: 27 Equipment: Darksteel Crossbow (WP: 10; Blinded-effect), Mythril Shield (SP: 20), Dread Hat (permanent Scary-effect; immune to Defense Reduction, Removal of Positive Effects, Confusion, Blindness, Poison, Fragile, Fire, Earth, and Wind; Headwear), Mail of the Renegade Commander (SP: 3; Damage of all Free Hits is halved; Bodywear), Cobweb Cowl (immune to Sudden Death; Backwear), Medal of Glory (Mark of true talent that allows the wearer to gain triple experience from battles; Accessory), Counterstrike Gloves (After the wearer is struck by a Free Hit, he counters with strength equal to his Level; Handwear) Inventory: Iris Shield (SP: 15; reflects physical Damage back to the attacker regardless of Row or Defense, if the user survives the attack.), Pan (WP: 1; +1 Max HP; suitable for all classes), Fishstick (WP: 7; deals double Damage on ships; club) • Large Water Canteen (Carries 6 portions of water; Accessory), Aqua Gear (Adds Water-element to physical attacks, immune to Water, Accessory) • Potions (2), Grand Potions (4), Health Cores (4), Remedies (11), Phoenix Essences (3), Phoenix Incense, Meads (2), Smelling Salts (2), Mulled Wine, Smoke Bombs (5), Water Bombs (5), Lightning Bombs (14), Bones (12), Venom (5), Deadly Venom, Skeleton Decoy, Teleportapple, Adamantite Shards (2/4 Adamantite) • Bedroll, Shovel, Magnifying Glass • Silver Ore (60 Gold) ________________________________________________________________________________________ They made their way to the center of the city, nearing a tall manor made of light grey stone. The size was far from impressive, but the stonework itself was intricate and beautiful. In some places, the stone rippled like waves; in others, faces and people danced and sang. Obviously the work of some sort of professional. The heroes approach the manor, gazing at the masonry before them. Their inspection is cut short as a guard emerges from the doorway. "Halt!" He commands, slamming the butt of his spear into the ground. "State your business with the Stonekeep." A muffled voice echoes behind the doorway, the guard stepping aside. Out strides a regal-looking woman in a flowing red dress, holding her head high. She smiles faintly as she recognizes the heroes. "You've come," she smiles. "I was beginning to worry that you wouldn't show... I'm a little unfamiliar with Heroica's policies..." She introduces herself with a tiny curtsy, bowing her head. "I'm Andrea Stonekeep, the Duchess of Redstone. Welcome to our manor." She holds her small bow, glancing at the heroes. It seemed as though it was courtesy to introduce themselves as well. You've got 24 hours to confirm OOC: Alright! It's up! Feel free to ask any questions, correct me on any stats or inventories, and point out any spelling mistakes I may have made (I went over it like twice, there shouldn't be that many). Please keep in mind this is my first quest and I've got a bit of a mix-and-match party, what with Docken and all, so if you guys have any issues with anything I'm doing as far as the Quest itself or battles go, please draw my attention to it! Also, if I make any mistakes, let me know. Without further ado, Quest 109. Let's have some fun, yeah?
