LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 9 Rumours & Discussion
Lego_Hero replied to muscleman's topic in Special LEGO Themes
What's sad is that someone saw that picture and didn't understand that it was what amounts to fan-fiction. Who looks at that pic and thinks, "Oh yeah, that's definitely up there in quality with what Lego puts forth on a regular basis. I think fines and sactions are in order. I've already tracked the original poster's home computer. The strike team is in a van across the street, waiting for a moderator's signal. Okay, it's not that bad. Can just anyone post pictures there? What if the list is actually correct in general and just very poorly translated? No, it's 100% bunk. Some of those are great suggestion, though. I was hoping the Mr. Freeze was a guy with a bubblehead helmet. You know, like the Spongebob squirrel? -

My TRU in Tyler Texas has them. I found a half-full box that I had assumed was picked through, but I managed to find 15 and an extra batman. Someone did manage to get all the conquistadors before me. I'll pick that one up when they show up at Wal-Mart. I may pick up more divers at some point, but I'm done for now. -
Hey all, I have no use for the trading cards that come with various sets, mostly Ninjago. Is there any interest in these? I don't know anyone who plays with them, so I'm willing to trade them away. I have Ninjago, Lego NBA Basketball, POTC, and a few from the Adventures sets (I guess Oriental). PM me for details. I also have the spinners that come with the characters. I'm willing to trade the spinners and their tops, but no other accessories. Again, PM for exact set names. If there are more than a few responses, I will itemized them here. I will trade for minifigs and minifig torsos.

Friedchikenfairy's Purist Marvel Minifigures

You know you did a good job when someone can say they could name them without looking at the names. Lizardman was pretty easy. Taskmaster because you went with that skull was automatic. I think its the eyes because in the comics he's usually depicted with pupils. Mysterio was also easy because he has such a unique look, but I would have gone solid green over Riddler's torso. The only one I would have missed was the Chameleon. How about Voldemort's head? Chameleon doesn't have a nose so that would be perfect. Now that I type this, the Chameleon's first appearance looked more like yours with a featureless white head. So great job on the classic Chameleon! -
Okay, I made a trade and now have 3 martial artists, 1 gymnist, and 2 divers that I don't want. I need a weight lifter and an archer. PM me if interested.

Thanks Wardancer. I think next time I do wings I'm going to put them on a neck bracket instead of gluing them directly to the torso. I just don't like that you can see the neck bracket. Maybe a cape over it made to accomodate the wings?

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion

LOL! Maybe in the 1980's some high school kids used it to intimidate others, but its not anything like that. Anti-glare is right, but with so many games played at night now its really just become style. Where it used to be grease marks to cut down the glare and keep sweat from collecting under the eyes, its now an adhesive strip, usually with writing on it. Brand names and bible verses are printed on them now which to me seems like it would be distracting. -
Yeah, definitely better off a Satyr. The flute is indeed a hacked grill. From the proper angle camera magic makes it look like a complete flute. From any other angle you can see space between each reed. Still, its as close as I could get.

I chose that head to exemplify the wild aspect of his nature, but you're right, for a god he does look a little rough. If I do a group pic, I'll change out his head. Thanks for the comment.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion

First, I'm stunned that someone got that lucky. I managed to get 20+ Bricktober minifigs for a penny a piece, and I've gotten some ridiculous deals in my time, but getting a future series packed in the current series? That's pretty crazy. How much do the new picks change your opinions? I like that the fairy's face is decorated. The robot's face is awesometastic! Evil mastermind ala Doctor Doom much? -

And $7.11 in the U.S.? Not even Toys R Us has that kind of mark up. Thanks for the pics though! The evil robot torso and legs look awesome! And the conquistador legs are cool too. That's the first I've seen of them. -

My point with the armor was that the shoulders seem wider. More like the hockey player's. Now, you can clearly see the midline crease that is customary of the normal armor on the black package, so I'm sure you're right. Your football wouldn't work for carrying. We don't carry it by the tip. Your way would work for the kickoff, though. You meant kickoff instead of punt right? Putting the ball on the ground for a punt would make the coach really mad. LOL! I don't have a golden hook, so to me the pirate's golden hook is a reason to buy it. I think they've been going with gold lately for the wow factor. Silver or pearl grey would have been much more accurate. Put the conquistador next to the Aztec. Notice a pattern forming? Did everyone run around in gold armor back then? Maybe Lego is making a political statement about the exploitation of the native population by European fortune seekers... I mean explorers. Of course I wouldn't be here if not for them, so thank you gold conquistador helmet! -

I didn't realize the cheerleader's hair was a new color for that mold. All the more reason to pick one up. I don't mind that the contours are not evident in the torso. It can be used more that way. Had they given her red arms, she'd look like she was wearing the team's sweater like some do when the weather turns cold. -
Okay, so there is no Olympian theme... yet. This is Pan, god of nature and chasing nymphs (sorry, my Greek mythology is rusty). I'd love to do a group of Greek customs. I'll have to scrounge up some togas! The first thing I thought when I saw the series seven mermaid king was that the crown would make great horns, so I bought an extra and went to work. I did the rough work with a box cutter blade (my weapon of choice) and filed it for detail. A little acrylic paint later and I had a shaggy mane with goat horns! The belly is from the sumo wrestler and the legs are from the minotaur. Thank you, CMF series! Any comments would be appreciated.

Greetings, Peeps! I took these pics in case I decided to enter the Batman Custom Minifig contest and then got sidetracked. This is Silver Seraph. Little is know of her before bursting upon the scene shortly after WWII began. Some say she was sent from Heaven to fight against the evil Axis powers. Most agree that she was just another in a long line of heroes looking to do some good. Regardless, Silver Seraph fought alongside Paragon and the rest of Spearhead, splitting time stateside sniffing out sabotuers and smashing tanks in the European Theater. I like how the helmet turned out. That's just silver spray piant. The wings are from some bionicle blades cut to fit what I was looking for. I think the torso is Princess Leia. The legs are from the series one cheerleader. Any comments would be appreciated.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion

The sooner everyone starts speaking english and uniting with a world capital city in San Francisco, the faster we embrace the future that is Star Trek. Kidding aside, I want to throw my two cents into the mix. I'm super excited that we now have some pics to go by. It sounds like the peanut gallery is split on the over all quality of this series, but I think it's just as good, and in some cases, better than previous series. I'm going to rank them from best to worst (in my own opinion) and add comments. Now keep in mind that the majority of any series is used as parts for my super heroes, so some of my choices may seem odd to you. The DIVER is my favorite for this series. I've beeen waiting so long for that helmet. The Steampunk implications alone are staggering. The MANBAT is next because of his arms and hair/ear piece. I wasn't about to drop that much money on the Monster Fighters set just for him, so I'm glad he made the series. The next three are in a dead heat. The EVIL ROBOT is my next pick because I just know there is a crazy-awesome face underneath that helmet. His torso is cool too. I can't wait for a better image. Getting the arm in black is also cool. The CONQUISTADOR is goldgasmic. I don't have that helmet, so I'm happy there. That looks like a new armor piece with shoulders. It looks like a cross between the regular torso armor and the hockey player torso piece. The COWGIRL beats out the rest because of the legs assembly. BOOTS! I'll end up buying extras just so all my cowboys have boots. I'm glad they didn't make them pink. The THESPIAN comes next in the pack with great torso and leg printing. I'll have to find a use for that neck piece as well. The rest of the series comes down to what parts they have that I would have use for. Of all the rest, what parts do I want the most? The FAIRY has wings. I want those wings. The wand is nice, but I think I already have a few. I'm curious about her torso print. Would it make a good toga? The hair in a different color is also nice. The FEMALE ALIEN is next because I don't have that head. I'm looking forward to seeing what I can do with the brains! The torso is not bad either. I'm not a big fan of the wedge dress piece, so there's that. How many of those space guns are we going to get? Let's move on to a new one already. The FOOTBALLER's shoulder pads would be alot more useful if they didn't have a number on them. Oh well. I like the helmet in that color. They should have gone with a football instead of the trophy. All you'd have to do is hollow out the ball and have a small bar handle inside of it like the pom pom. The CHEERLEADER is nice. The skirt in white and red could be useful. I actually like the red shirt A. I'd put some red arms on it and use it on a hero whose name starts with A. The PIRATE is low on the list because I have so many pirate minifigs and not a huge use for them. Still, the hook in gold would be nice. The BUSINESS MAN has a black bowler hat. I almost painted one of the clown's bowler hats black not too long ago. Glad I didn't. The SKIER has nice hair, face and torso. I really like the legs because, again, there are boots printed on them. The BAVARIAN... well, ther's the feather in his cap. The DJ may ove up my list with a higher resolution picture. I think the shirt has those sound level bars in the shape of a minifig head. I guess the hair piece would be useful for a military radio operator. Finally, there's SANTA. none of that is useful to me. I know there are alot of Santa fans out there, but as a minifig- humbug. If he'd at least had BOOTS printed on his legs, he'd have shot into the middle of the pack. Imagine red legs with black boots. Those would be some popular legs. Army builders? Obviously the conquistador. From then, the manbat, diver, and football player. More than some series, less than others. -
Brasso is really hard on places like faces where you have to be careful of the other details getting damaged. Your safest bet is an exacto knife/razor blade/box cutter. I use a box cutter blade. Just gently scrape until its gone, but apply only the lightest pressure necessary.

Your torso is my diving helmet! You'll be seeing that piece again soon. Nice use of it. She's really creepy.

I can't believe that no one has commented on this one. The vig is hilarious! That is one dedicated reporter! -
Nice vig. Not to nitpick too much, but gold is a soft metal. To use it as a weapon, you'd have to be really careful not to rely on it to block other weapons in a fight. How about a gold composite/alloy?

I love the helmet with stickers. The burnt cape is a nice touch. -
I bought extra Aztec Warriors just for the super hero possibilities myself. The big is great. Lego gold is awesome. I can see this character being the day to Batman's night.
-
I was hoping for an archer since most characters with arrow in their name come packing a bow. Very nice minifig, though.

Who would give away gloves that turn things to gold? Someone who has a new pair of platinum gloves, of course! -

He's probably talking about the pirate picture from the calendar. Believe me, if there were pics, it'd be on the front page news.
