  1. Every time those pics come up I have to sit and admire/drool over them. It's amazing how many of those have been used so far. Imagine going to a company with ideas and having the majority of them used right away. I'll bet once he left his first interview the Lego interviewers giggled like little school girls.
  2. And third of all, why are you asking mom? You know she has a contract with Mega Blocks! She's just trying to fill your brain with ideas like vegetables are good for you and such. Okay, kidding. No mom jokes allowed. As much as I don't care for a Santa, I think this series could be up there in the middle of the line. It has a handful of potential hits that could make it just as popular as some of the stronger series.
  3. If this list is legitimate, I have mixed feelings. With so many pirates already, I'm really not interested. If the trader is a frontiersman, then I'm all for it. A stock trader would be too generic. A fairy in any form would be a winner. A cowgirl would be cool, but the ponytail hat combined suggestion would make this phenominal. Evil female alien? I guess it depends on how they do it. A new alien head mold would be nice. Evil robot? They've hit homeruns with their previous robots, so I'm optimistic. If the vampire is a goth kid version, that would be cool. I'd buy tons of the diver if he has the old school fishbowl helmet. Santa? Wierd timing being out in September. I think between the gnome and the Yoda Santa there are enough parts to make one without wasting a slot here. FOOTBALL PLAYER! If its an American football player I'll have to make a team. I see a lot of customization coming. The thespin could bring new parts to the grecko-roman genre. I missed out on the first conquistador way back in the day, so that would be cool. If its a club dj I think it has potential. The bavarian kid could be cool. At least there'd be a new torso. Skier? Cross between the male Skier and the female snowboarder? OR a water Skier? Any version of a cheerleader would be awesome.
  4. Looks purist to me. Nice job on all the details. The only thing I would change would be to spraypaint the dark blue in the helmet black. Of course then it wouldn't be purist, but a nice gloss paint would give the color scheme a boost in the arm.
  5. Yeah, I don't see how the other entry could be termed an 'imitation'. Honestly, Marvel Comics has had a Nighthawk for decades, so I wouldn't make any originality comments. While we're on that subject, I also used that sticker for a torso decal (long before this entry, so no copy cat comments needed), but I cut out above and below the actual sticker to make the decal larger. That's one thing I don't like about Lego stickers: the sticker itself is cut smaller than what is printed on the sticker sheet. It took some practice, but I was able to line it up to make the sticker larger (even then, it didn't cover the whole torso). That being said, let's focus on the sheer awesomeness of this entry. Where do I even begin? The spread arms technique is well done. I can't imagine a better way than that. The costume itself is a nice color combination. I love that new helmet from the CMF line! And the vig is the best one so far. It took me a second to realize he's bursting in through a window. It really takes a few viewings to really appreciate the layout and camera work. Very well done! Easily the best so far! The only thing I would change would be the safety stripes. Who's he trying to warn? LOL
  6. So he tatoo-ed his face? Dude, face paint! Face paint! It's not an alter ego if you can't switch from one to the other! LOL. It's a nice look, though. The hugeness of the ax is hilarious in the flamethrower pic.
  7. I also think this one is a keeper. He reminds me of the villains that you would see in the 60's Batman live-action TV series. I can just hear the announcer, "Will the Mime silence the Dynamic Duo? Find out next week, same bat time, same bat station!"
  8. He would be a common Gothamite if this were 'Batman: the Animated Series' from the 90's!
  9. First off I have to say, variant of the CMF Bandit or not, I still like the look. The star-on-black face and custom coat give him that comic book feel to me. And "Lone Star" says alot about the character. He's a solo kind of guy and the star stands for him being a stand-out in his chosen field. Still, he'd need more than those guns to be a match for the Caped Crusader! Well done!
  10. Hey guys, I'm interested in a few of the Olympic minifigs, but living in the states keeps me from having access to them. Is anyone interested in making a deal for a few? I could trade minifigs, if necessary.
  11. I wouldn't say you suck at MOCs. That's quite an ambitious build! That's a playset that I'd keep together. Way to brick! I especially like the great hall/throne room.
  12. That would certainly add some excitement to the mix.
  13. As long as everyone understands that this is based largely on opinion and isn't so much an analysis as a "Hey, here's how I rank the series." I've been watching long enough to know that there are so many different opinions on which minifigs are "excellent" and such. I have to admit, I used to rank the minifigs in each series, but the longer this line goes, the harder they are to compare as a whole. I think it would be interesting to see a top ten pole of all the CMF line through Series 7.
  14. Now that availability is not the issue it was in the first few series, I see nothing wrong with the frequency of releases. For my budget at least, they're coming at a steady pace. Of course this is me and my individual interest. To each his own. I don't get those people who say they wish the line would end. I don't want to buy steaks at the market, so we should all stop eating beef, right? All these new cars keep coming off the production line. I can't buy them fast enough. They should stop making cars, right?
  15. Yes, Brickforge has them, but I like modding. It's the journey taken and all that.
  16. I've done everything from the search function here to Google Images. Does anytime have a pic of the inside of a lego horse? I want to take one apart to build a centaur with the body and maybe a horse-headed minifig. Pics of skeletal horses don't count. Nevermind. I opened one. I had no idea it wasn't glued together. A moderator can delete this or this could be the beginning of a horse mod discussion.
  17. My mother owned a vacuum cleaner and wasn't afraid to use it.
  18. Wow. Just wow. I'm a minifig guy and these booster packs and Zane are above and beyond! I know I'll have to wait until I get a really good deal to pick up Zane, but the booster pack prices are quite reasonable. As for Zane, the lightning pattern is awesome. One question, though: is that a knife attached to a throwing star on his weapon. I don't think I have a golden knife like that. The Lizaru minifig is cool. I never thought to combine those parts to make his axe. I'm going to us that somewhere. Are those snake attachments transgreen? Bytar is also awesome. I think I may get two just so I can file down the fangs on one to make a dinosaur creature!
  19. Since no one is replying with input, on the off-chance this is a serious post, I'll weigh in. On a positive note, your pictures are quite clear, so there's that. I'm surprised a moderator hasn't addressed the size of the photos. You should resize to 600x800 so people can see the whole picture at once. There's a tutorial on this forum. You've made a nice choice for Superman's face and hair. He definitely has a heroic look. The torso decal, however, needs some work. I sometimes use envelope sticker labels. You can go the the brand's website and resize to your desire, then print and cut out. That way you get a cleaner print than you'd see on construction paper and you don't have to worry about the lumpiness of tape. Keep at it! The only way to improve is to practice and try new ways of doing things. Wow: resized while I was typing this. How's that for service?
  20. As cool as it would be to have a Celtic theme. I think Lego may be licensed out for the near future. And since this belongs in the dream license thread, I'm moving it. Just kidding I'm not a moderator. I just wanted to beat whitefang to it.
  21. My local TRU has series 5, 6, and 7 but I'm not paying $3.50 a pop. My local Wal-Mart has series 7 on an end cap two aisles away from the Lego aisle. That wouldn't bother me except that in their Lego aisle they have MB shelved in and along with the Lego boxes so unsuspecting patents/kids think they are the same thing. Nowhere else do you find two competing brands interspersed in such a way.
  22. There are two boxes at the TRU in Tyler Texas. I picked up one of each and extra space marine, Aztec warrior, and knight. I did have something new happen to me, though. While feeling the office guy's packet, the bottom popped open and the contents spilled across the floor. I recovered everything and bought that packet. Very pleased with the whole lot.
  23. I just don't buy that video. Let's ignore the poor camera work for a second and ask ourselves why someone didn't just link the Flickr page instead of filming it. They should be way beyond the rough work stage in this series, but none of those were finished products. I wouldn't buy most of them and I just buy for the parts in the first place.
  24. LOL, yeah that one! I'm always on the phone when I read this.
  25. This is going to sound like I don't knowwhat I am talking about, but what about the visor from that castle line with all the funky colors? I am on my phone so I can't post a pick.
