Macro is key. ;-) I'm using a Canon g.9 with 12.1 MP. 12.1 MP is WAY more than I probably need, but dealers tell me this is the best camera without spending thousands on an SLR. I'm very happy with it ~ it's my best friend, when it comes to taking pictures, at least. X-D But if you ever need to take poster-sized images, make sure you get plenty of MP! ;-)

A contest entry for "Resonably Clever's" Steampunk Impulse Contest: Build a steampunkish creation with 50 pieces or less. Almost done, just putting the finishing touches on it. I will tell you this: the concept hasn't been tackled yet. ;-) It's too wacky, and goofy I guess. :-$ Gotta put together a good minifig combo, though. It'll be done tomorrow. I can promise you that, so keep your eyes peeled! :-)

Here we go: Violin Concerto In D Major: Op. 77: III. Allegro Giocoso, ma non troppo vivace by Brahms, duh! ;-) In other words, the end credit music to "There Will Be Blood". Wasn't on the soundtrack, though. Had to do a lot of snooping to find it. :-D
-
Wow, nice for your first! There so much detail crammed into there! And the use of the elephant head as the main body of the craft is, well, resonably clever. ;-) I like the use of the plumes as smoke, too. Great job, and good luck in the contest! *sweet* I will say, however, I'm not too fond of the torso. Much to futuristic, IMO. I would suggest a suit for steam-punk, but if you want a mechanic look, i'm sure the new Ep. I Naboo Fighter Pilot would work. *y*

I see where you're coming from. I guess it's rare to find a happy medium of a good, quality set, playability, and pieces. An example of that type of set would be Cafe Corner. ;-) The factions need to be developed more. Kinda like the Adventurers line. We get characters with names, an in-depth story-plot, etc. Do the dwarfs or trolls have names? ;-)
-
It will generate an increase in profits from AFOLs and children alike, but my concern is that they're not taking enough time to design quality sets. I'm sure they have plenty of people working on it, but more people working at a faster pace doesn't techincally equal plenty of people, (or less people) working at a slower pace, working the kinks out.........wait, does that make sense. *wacko* I apologize for my babbling. I do that sometimes. X-D IIMO I'm not particularly inpressed by some of the newer castle sets. And that's coming from someone who bought bionicle playsets. :-X ...... :-P ........... ;-) Just my two cents. ;-)

When I was first thinking about possibilites for torso for oil prospectors, this one was literally the first to pop into my head. But alas, it was at the bottom of one of my many buckets full of destroyed MOCs and sets that were gonig to be moved into the garage while the basement is under construction. Luckily I found it, because, frankly... it's perfect for a prospector! *wub*

IMO, TLC is taking on different factions MUCH too fast. They need to slow down and perfect the other factions (dwarfs/trolls/knights) before they jump into a whole new realm, no pun intended. The dwarf and troll thing was really cool a few months ago when we saw new pics, but now elves? Slow it down, LEGO, you're gonna bankrupt me sooner than I'm expecting! ;-)

Just say this ob B-B too, very well done! Tha landscaping is superb, and certainly alows another dimension. And I like your trees. *wub* Good luck in the contest! *y*

Sorry about the thread. :-$ Well, my entry is posted. I've been pretty busy lastely, so I decided to get it out of the way early. X-D I built it prett quickly, hence the lack of deatil but I feel that its sufficent. ;-)

What book are you reading right now?
SirNadroj replied to Norrington's topic in Culture & Multimedia
"The Great Gatsby" currently (a classic ;-) ), but I haven't started the "Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster", yet, and I'd like to get my hands on a copy of Upton Sinclair's "Oil!". -
Entry posted! *sweet* And see, I technically did build it on a 1 x 1 plate! :-P ;-)

Makeshift Oil Derrick Chamber This is, obviously based on the movie "There will be Blood". Yes, just like Sweeney Todd, you'll be seeing some TWBB MOCs pretty soon! Brace yourselves! Now, I was thinking of doing some goofy torture device, but that'd be no fun! So I thought: why torture the bad kids? Why not make them perform serious, time-consuming, gruling work to make EB wealthy? Well, why not!?...... So, the chamber is not just a dungeon, it's a place where the baddies are forced to work....then once they are of no use, well. You know what comes next. Meanwhile, the rest of EB watches in enjoyment, in a land of milkshakes and honey. My warmest thanks to Exo-Builder, , and for letting me use their sigfigs! The Bad Kids are random, BTW. Thanks! Good luck to all the contestants! *y*

Hello fellow EBer's! ;-) I present to you my chamber contest entry. I decided to make it it's own thread for discussion. ;-) I put it in this subforum since it is an oil derrick. Pretty western, if you ask me! ;-) This is, obviously based on the movie "There will be Blood". Yes, just like Sweeney Todd, you'll be seeing some TWBB MOCs pretty soon! :-D Brace yourselves! X-D Now, I was thinking of doing some goofy torture device, but that'd be no fun! :-$ So I thought: why torture the bad kids? Why not make them perform serious, time-consuming, gruling work to make EB wealthy? Well, why not!?...... X-D ) Vader and Exo-Builder Me looking down with a milkshake: *yoda* drinking the kiddy's milkshake. He drinks it up! :-D Oh, yeah. I actually built this on a 1 x 1 base. Consequently, this could technically be considered one of the smallest, if not the smallest vig in the world. *y* But that's if you consider everything else overlap! :-D Thought I'd get my entry in there very quickly. ;-) Well, that's that. Feedback is always appreciated, and thanks to Exo-Builder, *yoda* and *vader* again! *sweet*
-
Maybe, but I don't think it'd work for my concept. X-D It's almost done, and should be posted today or tomorrow. :-) I will say that I've included plenty of milkshakes! :-)
-
Thanks. *sweet* And I'm gonna literally build it on a 1 x 1 plate. X-D
-
I've got an idea that'll be on a 4 x 4 base, but built very high. I was wondering if it has to be on an 8 x 8 base, or if 8 x 8 is the max. :-)
-
I don't think this question was asked yet, but: I assume we can go smaller than 8 x 8...say... 4 x 4 and build it high? X-D I'm askin' just in case I start, and it has to be 8 x 8 (+ overlap). ;-)
-
I love the harpsicord ~ one of my favourite instruments! ;-) 8-

Great, as always! You add some very nice detais/touches to your MOCs. Great weapons/turrents/guns, too. Very creative and realistic! *sweet* Can't say I like the name, though. :-P :-D Kidding. ;-) Oh, nice photography, BTW!
-
Wow! Two entries already~ great job; very funny! *y* While I'm waiting for a BL order to arrive for a project of mine, I'll be able to conjure up some evil entry *skull* . Chamber ON! (or OFF! ;-) )
-
Thanks! I was just coming over here to update the thread. ;-) Nannan had so many fantastical entries he had to choose from, and I'm sure he liked yours. *y* I did ~ you had some extremely clever part uses! *wub*
-
Another great contest! The only problem is, I won't have time to enter all of them! :-D I'll see what I can do for this one, since it's only a vig. ;-)
-
Thanks for providing that link! A couple other folks also did some nice TWBB MOCs, and a really funny video! :-D Derrick: http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/imag...op=mss&ei=UTF-8

Wow, I wasn't expecting something like this! *wub* Most people did very scary, creepy creatures, but this is very different, like Lt. Veers said, it is kinda cute! *y* I like the head, main body, and legs! The whole thing looks great, and all the parts compliment eachother nicely! Well done! *sweet*
