  1. I disagree strongly with the notion that a set should come right as you want it -- this is LEGO. It's bricks and builds, with imagination at its core. The set you buy is nothing more than an outline, a suggestion by Lego of what you can build. If you dislike a certain aspect of any given set, you are by no means restricted to keep it that way. I can definitely see the problem of parts shortage, but in the case of slapped-on launchers, I'm afraid there's not much of argument there. In fact, that's the very thing that sets Lego sets apart from other toys -- YOU get to be the one that designs the action figures or playsets you want! Comparing launchers to colors... doesn't work. If you dislike the color of a set, it'll take a whole lot of parts supplying to change it entirely, if it's even possibly. In the case of an ugly launcher, you just take it off. Not much of an excuse there, sorry. XD -Ikk
  2. How on Earth can launchers ruin a set? They're not glued fast, people, take 'em off! -Ikk
  3. 1) No, they are not same species. Zesk were once Agori, like the other villagers, albeit physically a bit different -- and Vorox more like other Glatorian. Post-disaster, they regressed and have become little more than beasts. 2) I really haven't decided how new beings come into being, but no, that is no longer taboo. In fact, it is established in story early on that Gresh is considerably younger than some of the other Glatorian .Gresh being the youngest of the bunch... now they're starting to use scrapped 2001 ideas! CAN this get any better? -Ikk
  4. Does certainly look like the Arena is indeed labyrinthine, in the shape of of this pattern and the Skrall's shield! Unbelievably good and crisp design. -Ikk
  5. Say hullo to Fero and Skirmix! -Ikk
  6. Now it's just getting gross. -Ikk
  7. A long staff with a golden Tahu Firesword on top. =D -Ikk
  8. Moustacha Nui... I like that. =D You know, dark tan, tan, and copper gold would be a perfect mix for the Great Spirit in Toa form. -Ikk
  9. ... didn't Greg confirm that Fero wasn't a Skrall? Given his size, I'd say he's definitely an Agori. -Ikk
  10. Random story tidbits. It's mostly goods or services. For example, if you were doing a job escorting a trade caravan, they might give you some of their goods in payment (like armor or weapons), or they might give you water and food, or they might give you something else of value that you could trade elsewhere. Yes 2) No. Let me explain how the social system works on Bara Magna. Let's say I have a village, and you have a village. One day, one of my Agori stumbles on an oasis halfway between our villages. I claim it, but so do you - and there's no way to prove who saw it first. In a lot of places, that might lead to a war over a resource as precious as water is in a desert. Not Bara Magna. I send my Glatorian, you send yours, and they fight. Whichever wins, his village gets the claim to the oasis. The Glatorian system was set up so the villages don't waste lives and resources on wars. -Ikk
  11. SKRALL IS A SHE -Ikk
  12. I think Greg has a screwed up sense of the word 'clarify'. -Ikk
  13. We spent less time in Metru Nui, but it was almost as exciting. And neither of those locations are anyway near the size of Bara Magna... they could easily pull off a trilogy there, set in different geographical regions of the planet. -Ikk
  14. Just dug up the old list of 2009 names -- lookie, guys, and see what I've deducted... In each of the three groups -- the IMPULSE and twin COREs -- the sets are listed after color! Black, then red, green, blue, white, and finally tan. Even though Gresh and Vastus are switched around, Gresh is still in the green spot of the second CORE group. Now, look at the bottom ones. Zesk, Vorox... Mata Nui. Mata Nui = Tan. I rest my case. -Ikk
  15. You know, no single person has ever complained about all these things. Every member has a few things he or she dislikes, and when those things are presented in Bionicle, their complains will be voiced. It is the ignorant fans who put all these people and their valid issues in the same group. There will ALWAYS be someone who is not favor of a certain trend or change in anything, and instead of swallowing the crap they either rant or contructively critisize it -- most people doing the latter. If you don't want negativity, however, I suggest browsing BZP. There are thousands of fanboys there claiming the Mistika are the greatest pieces of art in human history, so that oughta do it for ya. ;-) On another note -- could it be that there are so few complains in regards to 2009 because it is actually a GOOD year? :D -Ikk
  16. I gotta be honest, I thought the Toa Phantoka had plenty resemblance to their old forms -- where they failed were in their overly rehashed designs. <3 Pohatu for his orange and for his mask. =D But next year the set designers not only know that they are mortalizing Mata Nui himself... they are doing it in a year where so far all the sets are fantastic. That's a great promise, and I can't wait to see what they can do with the summer batch. -Ikk
  17. What would we do without you, Pencoin. On the subject of the Mata Nui set, though, I'd just like to remind people that the set designers DID know who they were creating when designing the 2008 Nuva sets. This shows in the Phantoka, though not in the Mistika, where the original Nuva-esque prototypes were rejected by focus groups. If focus groups desecrate Mata Nui, there will be mayhem. =P -Ikk
  18. Yep, plus the readings of The Rising and The Truth. Just wish Bink had put an "I will return" for the guy to read aloud. =| He voiced Makuta perfectly, really. -Ikk
  19. I say Tony Wedgewood should do Mata Nui's voice -- he's the guy who's been narrating all the recent stuff in so epic a way. =D -Ikk
  20. GOOD NEWS! Yes, they did know. This was a rare year where story came before set design, because the story had to be done early for the movie. 2009 just keeps smashin' all other years away! -Ikk
  21. My dream set of Mata Nui would have him being tan and gold, which, given the return of exactly those colors, may not be a vision too farfetched. =) -Ikk
  22. Thanks, that way it'll be much easier for people to judge its veracity -- and this goes for everybody, m'self included. ^_^ On an unrelated note, I sent Greg a PM asking whether or not the set designers knew who they were creating when they designed in 2009 Mata Nui set. His answer will once and for all decide our reaction to the set before we've even seen it... -Ikk
  23. Anyone can edit Wiki, so obviously anything found there should be taken with a grain of salt. Might've helped if you'd told us your source back then. -Ikk
  24. I'm most curious about the relationship between the Agori and the Glatorian -- I would've thought that there were only one of each Glatorian, with the small guys making up the bulk of the tribes, but now it seems as if it's either the other way around, or they're different classes within each tribe... would be awesome to see the Agori as individual priests in tribes of larger, stronger beings. Either way, very intriguing. -Ikk
  25. Because he's nothing but an endless bucket of bad jokes -- no character or background, no reason or development, just comic relief, or a prime example of Greg's devastatingly bad sense of humor. That's why. -Ikk
