Well, when I'm right I'm right. XD One thing I like about Bara Magna is that given their lack of understanding of greater technology, it won't turn into a pothole of weird. As rad cool as the MU's wacky tech was, it's nice to see a place where the physics themselves won't get outta hand. =D -Ikk -

I think there's some confusion over whether the original poster meant the entire wingspan or just one arm. -Ikk -

Aye, I see your points... I guess a part of my dislike stems from it being so vastly different from the original feel of Bionicle. The immense amount of story events that got little coverage contributed to what in the big picture looked more like something from Hitchhiker's Guide. That's awesome, and chaos is cool in any story -- but I think the alternate stuff went over the top. =P That, and more focus on individual events would've been great. Having said that, the early parts of BIA were some of my favorite ever in Bionicle. No matter how nice it was seeing Paradise, I really wish the Mazeka-Vultraz conflict had reached a greater climax more in line with what was established at the start of the serial. =/ -Ikk -

Nothing we've heard of, but if sales are high on this one, it's not unlikely at all. -Ikk -

I said 'crappy fanfiction', as in the kind of stories that realizes every fanboy's dream -- in the case of Bionicle, that's good Makuta and evil Takanuva galore, Spherus magna, super-Brutaka, Vezon everywhere, etc, with little regard to the coherence of the story. IMO the summer serials started out great, but all went down the gutter somewhere midways. =P BTW, I write fanfiction myself, and besides it'd be silly of me to insult a whole 'genre' simply based on its lack of canonicity. =P -Ikk -

CALL GUNNAR We need you to convince Greg to publish this story somewhere in English, if possible on BZP. =P EDIT: I hope the serials will fill in the role of the books at that point, instead of being the crappy fanfiction they were last year. I think he was just emphasizing that since the Makuta were created by Mata Nui, there is no way they could exist anywhere but within him. But at this point, either way remains possible for the shapeshifters. -Ikk -

Random 2009 stuff. 'The Science of the Oasis' would be a perfect guidebook title. xD -Ikk -

The Thornatus is growing on me... as someone else pointed out, it looks like it's slapped together from whatever the builders could find and is ready to fall apart any minute. As long as it doesn't actually do that in set form, I think it fits Bara Magna excellently. =D My only gripe is the abundance of silver weapons... but again, adds to the slapped-together look. -Ikk -

Bink's blog I believe... old news by now. XD But yeah, the graphics rock, especially for an online game. It looks like it may the same designers who did Backlot. Tho wasn't that Templar? -Ikk -

Isn't it possible the Secret of Certavus tells the tale of someone finding the Book of Certavus? That'd make sense to me... maybe it's even the scroll Vastus was reported to find in one of the other level 3 readers. After all, an item which only figures in a L3R and a serial would be of little significance to the main story. -Ikk -

MATA NUI HAS GOLD IGNIKA WOOT WOOT Ahem. On a completely unrelated note, I love this ongoing search for the Book of Certavus. Reminds me of the fabled Book of Thoth of ancient texts... -Ikk -

2009 just got possibly more awesome. If they're again using images in story that hold super-significant meaning, like the Mata Nuian Man or the UDD Map, or even the Island of Mata Nui, the mystery and coolness of the story just got increased by a good bit. Maybe this has connection to the Maze Valley mentioned by Tuma in EOTS? -Ikk -

While the apparent lack of beasties is a tremendous shame, Greg DID imply we'd see a two-headed Spikit with a wagon. Would love that so much. <3 Might Baranus be a wagon, then? Skopio is the only one here that truly stands out. WHile the others are either uninteresting looks or have no fancy riders or both, Skopio is literally A GIGANTIC quadruped mechanized steed! SOme of you may know my love for Rahi-based vehicle designs, and I'm in awe that the single largest Bionicle set to date will be of such a kind. If the figure is a yellow and orange Vorox as it would appear, that'll be further win, though a primitive Vorox piloting this thing makes no sense. Ah well. Can't wait for clearer shots of this beauty. Also, I got Berix and Vorox today. The only thing that drags down Vorox is his head attachment and mask size, which will look awesome still when posed right. Berix, however... Berix is the single most breathtakingly cool set EVER. Brilliant colors, a FANTASTIC water/blue fire flow pattern, blue to light blue fading mask, blue fire sword, dark blue Mata feet, limbs reminiscent of Mata ones... and that beautiful mask. So simple, so very original, and so unmatchedly cool. Getting Berix totally threw me back to the time when I got my first set, Gali, and could not take my eyes and hands of her. Such a little piece of ingenuity. EDIT: To you Jinzo, since you're viewing: Coolest and most insightful book I've ever read (signature). =D -Ikk EDIT: Truth is stranger than fiction. Definitely more strange than even the Bionicle universe. (Wish he'd not added that he thought the returning Nibiru stuff was "fact" on the last pages of the book. The rest of it was awesomesauce however.) -JINZO -

I actually hope they won't be joined together. That'd basically be Voya Nui & the Cord all over again, and by the time it actually happens in story it would be redundant because everyone practically guessed it already. Fortunately, I believe Greg said it was too late for the Melding to happen in the main universe, but he may have been referring to the way it happened in BIA... -Ikk -

Very nice, good job. ^_^ Here's hoping we'll see -- though not before at least a couple years have been spent on Bara Magna -- a celestial body of ice, AKA a moon formed by the Northern Frost. With pine tree foresting. -Ikk -

Here's a thought -- what if the retailers who listed Mata Nui as a yellow set was referring to the gold? Eyes unfamiliar with the shades of Bionicle looking at sets like Brutaka and Tarix could easily mistake that for yellow. He may be tan and gold after all. =D -Ikk -

I reward you the internet for being awesome. So you won't have to use the phone. Apparently, Danish toy stores now have Agori! =D I could not resist getting Tarduk despite the impending arrival of Vorox and Berix from S@H. Even though I'd been wanting to build Berix first as a homage to my first Bionicle set ever, Gali, Tarduk with his unique junglish vibe and tasty mask tempted me beyond restraint. And here he is, completely apelike and very spiky. I reversed his arms so that his elbows are facing backwards while still keeping the posture. I love him. <3 -Ikk -

I think that's a very likely supposition, and it makes me wonder what's beyond the Black Spike Mountains now! Also, come to think of it, we still do not know why or how the Bara Magnans are biomechanical... maybe the effects of EP? -Ikk
