This so reminds me of those ol' Toa-Turaga and Toa-Tohunga posters! Also, Tarduk's mask is FRIGGIN' COOL! -Ikk -

Holy Bejesus. No offense meant, but that's just about the most nonsensical rant I've ever read. It's basically a summary of the first eight years of Bionicle, and then here and there you dump in things like "that was crap" and "that shouldn't have been there". Even if this is just how you feel about the story, it still gives no reasons for your dislike, and most of it seems like you trying to establish your feelings as fact. Doesn't work. XD Bionicle had some slow sales in 03-04 -- with 2009 the line boomed upwards, and has been rocketing to the skies ever since. I've been unsatisfied with a lot of what's happened in those years and evidently you have too, but most people think it's better now than ever. And 2009 is absolutely revolutionary in that new and old fans are equally excited about it. Can't see why you dislike this year, or Metru Nui for that matter, but no problem if you do. Just have to realize that Bionicle made the some wise choices in 2006 and has been doing so since. And from the looks of it, 2009 will be the best yet, popularity-wise. It is light years from dying. -Ikk -

Ahahaha XD SPI remains the funniest guy ever is Bionicle history. Brilliant! -Ikk -
And I think that's great, because the more people who buy 'em, the more likely LEGO is to produce such large and intricate sets in the future! I simply prefer another style of sets. On a side note, I can't wait to see the Bara Magnian vehicle designs. Given the wilderness of the land, I hope I'm not setting my dreams to high when wishing for legged and winged crafts! -Ikk

BORING VEHICLE DESIGNS????? They are the most amazing vehicles I have seen! Do not ever diss the mistika veicles! Mataniu911 out Edit: I mean for that to be a quote. I guess i did it wrong. Look above for who posted it if you wanted to know I think I need to clarify this a bit. I love the inctricate builds of the vehicles, the way clever techniques are used all over and how pieces fit together, However, as far as the actual LOOKS of the sets go -- their very appearances -- they are dreadfully dull. Two thirds of them resemble flying armed refridgerators, and only the Jetrax is remotely interesting in this aspect. I want vehicles with an actual design, vehicles that ideally are based off beasts. That is what rocked about the Vahki transport seen in LOMN or the Boxor or the absolutely fantastic Swamp Strider. I am a great fan of the way the vehicles are constructed, but their appearances strike no chords with me. BTW, fix'd your quote tags. -Ikk

www.bionicle.com has the final update. And as the wind blows across the wastes of Bara Magna, it feels like standing on the beach of Ta-Wahi for the very first time, overlooking an endless sea... This time, an endless sea of sand, and a new beginning. -Ikk -
Okay, I admit I forgot about this awesome specter. But even so, we got hints of super-advanced machinery in BL10, and all it does is activating an elevator. I'd also hoped to see that closed-off half of the Codrex mentioned in the Mata flashbacks... unless that was the bottom section, in which case there's some severe lack of consistency between books. xD -Ikk

FINALLY! CRISP PICTURES! THANK YOU! The crappy pics we've been getting so far almost scared me out of wanting the sets, but this looks fantastic! -Ikk -
Sets Pros: -- orange and yellow -- Tridax pods -- Krika and Takanuva -- spiky visors -- superlarge sets -- Toa Phantoka resembling ol' Nuva -- Makuta looking like true Makuta -- innovative Mistikuta designs -- Swamp Strider -- Ignika in plastic -- plenty new masks Cons: -- grey and silver -- clones and rehashed designs all over -- floppy necks and limbs -- low-quality plastic -- boring vehicle designs -- new joint types -- Toa Mistika looking zilch like ol' Nuva -- Takanuva's size Story Pros: -- return of the Nuva -- great Makuta characters -- tons of revelations and hints -- DID and BIA rock -- OOMN-BOM war -- fantastic conclusion -- return of the Makuta for good -- Mata Nui awakened, risen, and revealed -- no more Matoran universe! Cons: -- fairly dull progress until the end of the year -- Dark Mirror -- lack of spiffyness and power in fights -- horribly dull setting -- poor Matoran characters -- lack of Rahi -- lack of exploration -- too sci-fiey until the end -- stark good/evil contrast -- too predictable, never feeling anxious for the characters -- rather dull Awakening and interior of the Codrex All in all? A fairly good year, with by far the biggest problem being the dullness and unability to feel empathy for any of the characters. Gorast and Krika were, all things considered, the only ones that invoked any kind of feeling when reading about their actions. Without a doubt the biggest pro of 2008 is that it wraps up the first Bionicle saga in such a fitting way and sends us off to a year that looks awesome! -Ikk

Thanks for the info -- I think you just convinced me to add Skrall to the list of 2009 sets I'm gettin'! Question though: is it possible to stick a plud-rod all the way through the hand, or is it blocked midway like the old joints? -Ikk -

ET on the idea that Vastus is Gresh: That guy... it's incredible how much authority he tries to take on, brandishing every one of his ideas as fact, yet he's almost universally wrong. >_> -Ikk -

This chapter was confusing, flabbergasting, mezmerizing, but it was anything but stale. I'm glad to see something other than endless fights happen. EDIT: -Ikk -

I have NO clue what all this means, but The Shattering and The Melding do indeed sound like opposites. And with the existence of forests and such, I don't think it's unlikely that Spherus Magna is Paradise. Now, I read this chapter expecting some more fights and repetition of the characters' respective missions, but this just blows everything away! -Ikk -

Well, this year they have at least one solid reason to stay away from big, chunky blasters: the smaller the launcher, the better it'll look in the upcomin' movie. Imagine the Metru carryin' around Cordak blasters all the way through their adventures in LOMN! So I say the Thornax launcher is a pretty good estimate at the size of summer sets' versions. -Ikk -
