  1. Opening this topic on 2 April just leads to heartbreak and rage Now please excuse me, I think I'm going to be sick from the dissapointment
  2. I only colelct Technic. But I do have a few regular sets tat survived from my childhood. I also happen to have my eye on the Star Wars UCS AT-ST, but I dont think I'll buy any other SW sets.
  3. And here I was thinking just yesterday, that a studless version of this set would be pretty cool! Nice MOC, it looks great
  4. I second this request as well I'm also looking for good ideas to store sets at the moment!
  5. Although I have not yet built it, the alternative model for 9397 looks quite good to me: Anyone here built it?
  6. Cos' then we would have to ewait even longer for the next installment of technicopedia!
  7. More like Sinner for teh win! Thank you very much! Hopefully they do ship to my part of the world
  8. Very nice MOC indeed, the functions seem very smooth. I also missed your version GuiliuG, will certianly ahve a look at your videos as well.
  9. Thanks for this great review. It reminds me that I still have to build mine which has been sitting in a box staring me in the face for the last while now
  10. Despite being an avid collector of Technic, I've always found the thought of creating a Technic MOC to be too intimidating and have never tried my hand at it. This book seems to be the ideal place to start getting familiar with the technical aspects of building with Technic and making the leap into MOCing. Great work Sariel (I’ve been following your progress on the book on Facebook and your website) and great review Sinner (it's always nice to have an honest opinion, as opposed to one that is only complimentary) – Technic for teh Win! (Edit: adjusted font size. For some reason it was small).
  11. Sounds impressive nychase You mention that only 4 of the sets are on display. How do you store all your other sets then? Any chance for you to post some pics of your set and parts storage setup? I'm interested as I have quite a few sets that I bought in lots which I'm in the process of inventorying and are currently stored haphazardly. In the future I'd like to be able to store them in a more organised fashion in a dedicated working space, so the more ideas the better :)
  12. Love your work Sariel and you photos are certainly wallpaper worthy I like what you did with the wheels as well
  13. It's finished! This is certainly an amazing MOC, up there with the best. Your photography (and your brothers video) certainly add a different level of professionalsim to the presentation. That being said, they are a bit slim on the technically interesting aspects of the MOC. Are you planning on making any additional videos which show off all the functions in brighter lighting conditions? Either way, amazing work and well done on completing this surpurb MOC
  14. Obviously the level of complexity will differ depending on the scale of the model. I find that the instructions of todays sets make putting together the bigger models far easier when compared to the older instructions. Personally I found putting together the sapce shuttle (8480) more difficult than the Crane Truck (8258) simply because you had to do so much more for each step in the older isntructions when comapred to the new ones.
  15. After moving from Duplo onto Lego system my parents introduced me to technic in my early teens, with 8815: Speedway Bandit. From there I was hooked :) Unfortuantely I never got the larger flagship sets, only the smaller models. I'd say I started to lose interest in technic from around 1997. I think it was around this time that the technic line lost the plot a bit and TLG released some really bad sets. I emerged from my dark ages when my wife bought me 8273, and I haven't looked back since.
  16. An awesome set indeed I'm ashamed to admit that I still actually need to build the alternate model. I'm even more ashamed to say that I have a second 8480 set packed away for that very purpose. Perhaps this weekend is a good weekend to start building
  17. Amazing work again Sariel! The production of your video is by far your best work yet. I've been following progress of your build on Facebook and the results certainly have not disappointed. I also quite enjoyed the fact that the functions of the car are quite unique when compared to the other supercar builders (no disrespect to these other great builders). I would love to see a blue version of this with the racing stripes.
  18. Droooool. This is looking like one tasty MOC. Can't wait to see the finished result :) Good luck with the rest of your build.
  19. I love the work you did with video, very slick production! It's a shame you didn't manage to achieve all of your original objectives with the turret but an awesome model nonetheless! I can also relate to your emotion at the end of the video
  20. I dont think the forum is broke, so as the saying goes... Although it could use more topics started by person other than DLuders
  21. I use A4 plastic sleeves.
  22. I keep all my instructions stored in plastic sleeves in ring binders. I havent had any problems with fitting technic instructions in the plastic sleeves, even the old style single book instructions.
  23. Very sexy indeed. Would like to have seen some videos of it actually turning on the spot though.
  24. I've got my built sets on display in a book shelf unit, however I have run out of space already and have a serious dust problem Anyway I'm waiting for Blakbird to post some more pictures of his collection in here
