  1. I've got my built sets on display in a book shelf unit, however I have run out of space already and have a serious dust problem Anyway I'm waiting for Blakbird to post some more pictures of his collection in here
  2. Amazing! Love the fact that it's jammed to the brim with functions. Gotta love that light bar Also hat-tip for your awesome production values with your photos and videos, just love them.
  3. Be sure togive us an update with some pictures once it's there
  4. It's.... it's.... beautiful! Please feel free to share even more pictures
  5. According to the news on BrickSet, the Lego stand was completely enclosed and by invitation only. Furthermore, no photography was allowed. I guess we will have to wait some more for decent pics
  6. The BrickLink Price guide is usually a useful indicator. In terms of the last 6 months of sales the average price used is EUR 86.84 / US $113.56 and one new set was sold for US $300.
  7. There are some awesome high resolution photos of these two sets from various angles on this particular blog:
  8. As indicated before allanp said "first set to have 4 motorised functions powered by one motor". The 8868 was released in 1992 However 8480 is an amazing set :)
  9. Very slick MOC indeed I'd love to see this in the colours of 8880, so replacing the red with a bit of yellow, although I don't know if the flexible axles have been made in yellow
  10. This review has reminded me that I have a copy which is sitting in a box awaiting cleaning. Actually I have way too many good sets just sitting in a box waiting to be cleaned and built :(
  11. Impressive height and the outriggers look quite nice deployed. However I'm not a huge fan of the look of the crane itself, it seems a bit odd.
  12. Thanks for that, I think I understand the principle a bit better. I guess I should stop being lazy and actually do the research myself ;)
  13. A truly beautiful MOC! This tank looks absolutely gorgeous and the self-leveling turret is a treat to see in action. I still cant bend my head around on how exactly the suspension works though (I need to see an animation of it in action). Also I salute Commander Lucius for handling such a beast with ease
  14. lol, that's pretty awesome. However the most awesome thing about this post is that it means progress is being made on Technopedia
  15. We can only hope that the trend continues (packaging instructions between cardboard; not posting massive unresized images).
  16. Try mediafire or megaupload for uploading large files
  17. I think I saw this posted on setechnic as well. I'm seriously loving this, it is very cute It has the look of an official set and the steering mechanism is very slick When life chills down a bit I may get down and dirty and try build it :)
  18. I wonder what percentage of those posts were started by DLuders?
  19. Wow that plane is absolutely monstrous! Also nice to see such a great looking studded creation I'd love to know what sort of functions it has
  20. I think for me it a great technic set must have good technical functions combined with good looks These qualities are what most of the more revered technic sets (8880, 8480, 8868, etc.) have. This doesn't limit great sets to only the big sets, for instance 8858 (Rebel Wrecker) has these qualities and is one of the best technic sets imho.
  21. Which catalogs are you talking about, I have a few catalogs which are purely technic and in a booklet form, about A5 in size, from around the 1992 - 1995 era. I also have a few technic "Pages", they are basically one A4 sized page with a catalog type format on both sides. Also checkout technica for an image of the covers for most of the catalogs Edit: Removed pointless quote
  22. In terms of playability, the B-Model is certainly more robust. I however still prefer the main model because it has more functionality! It all depends on what your personal requirements/preferences are ;) I do think that the B-Model does look nice but it is severely gimped in comparison to the main model. Perhaps TLG should give grohl a copy and see how many awesome B-Models he can pump out of it Well one way would be to give us hardcopy instructions again If you have a look in this topic you can see my and many other complaints regarding releasing B-Model instructions in pdf format.
