BEWARE: Collectable Minifigures US Online Purchases
legitimatealex replied to legitimatealex's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'm glad it worked out for you. Here is my crop of 5 crash test dummies. They might all be smiling and happy, but my mood is more like this guy over here... -
There is currently a problem in shipping in the US where the warehouse is sending out the same minifigure in each order. They are not random at all: you will receive all the same minifigure. I contacted LEGO Shipping over this and the representative I spoke to didn't attempt to hide the problem. The warehouse that all the items ship out from is putting 5 of the same bags in each order. This representative said she had had the same conversation with 10 other people today who were calling to question the 'randomness' of the packages. She said I could return them for my money back or trade them but LEGO couldn't do anything besides that. So this is a warning: unless you want 5 of the same minifigure, right now do NOT order collectable minifigures online in the US from LEGO.com.

D2C Designers requesting feedback for 2012 models
legitimatealex replied to CopMike's topic in General LEGO Discussion
1. No. I would buy them because they represent a particular architectural feat or wonder. 2. I buy specific models because of individual appeal. I really like the Atlantis line. I hate the Neptune Carrier though and wouldn't buy it unless it was on sale. It just doesn't look very impressive and the manta ray creature is so underwhelming with the rest of the set. The ENTIRE line has to be good if I were to buy it. 3. The Sphinx 4. Another Medieval Market. 5. Don't use Chinese plastic. The garbage they use is already breaking and doesn't look right with the rest of my figures. -
Thank you. The trolls were easy to do since the torsos had been included in other sets but with the werewolves I had to get a little creative. Eventually I plan on doing the devil and the pumpkin, although I'm not sure how exactly either will work out at the moment.

New Lego Architecture 21006 The White House
legitimatealex replied to GRogall's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Much better than those awful $20 amateur sets they tried to force on us! -
I didn't even know what deeplinking was until I got involved on these boards. Now its super simple and pretty quick. You'll get the hang of it/stop worrying and learn how to love the bomb.

Hey I've been there before! To answer the question Stroopwafel They are FREAKING DELICIOUS. I've yet to find any outside of the Netherlands though It's really a shame. I bought a whole ton when I left and I polished them off on the plane...I'm salivating. Anyway, on to the topic at hand. Good Modular The ornaments at the top of the building and the little alleyway detail are my favorites.

Doctor Hasn't A Clue (Doctor Who humour).
legitimatealex replied to Doctor Sinister's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Don't you touch my Dr. Who!!!! Haha at least the series made a comeback in the last two years I like your TARDIS. Probably one of the best I've seen. The Doctor and the TARDIS seem fairly popular to recreate in LEGO. Wonder why? -
Let me be the first on congratulating you for building these awesome vignettes! Truly an accurate representation of ANH. I bought Luke's Landspeeder two weeks ago and I watched the first three twice since then. The Princess Leia vignette is my favorite, although Darth Vader boarding the cruiser is quite amazing too. Excellent work.

Use the little safety buoy and a pannier (usually blue). Put one on top of the other. Insta toilet! If not a circular flat piece over two up slopes works too. I think both have been posted here already though.

Very...powerful Seriously though I like it. The arms are the best part I do believe.

If you visit my Flickr you'll find those figs there Or, for convenience. Werewolves: Goblins:

Ever since I bought Monster 4 I wanted to make it minifigure size. I knew it would be fun to do but I put it off for quite some time until now. For comparison, the actual gameboard is posted above. I hope you all enjoy this. The images can be found here: Legitimatealex's Flickr For those of you not familiar with Monster 4, the rules are quite simple. The goal of the game is to get four of your monsters in a row. Skeletons count for both sides. The board is split up into four quadrants, 2 light gray and 2 dark gray, each on the opposite side. An example is this: D L L D There are 6 different possibilities for the dice outcome. Light Gray: Place a figure on a light gray spot. Dark Gray: Place a figure on a dark gray spot. White: Place a skeleton anywhere on the board. Dark Gray/Light Gray: Place a figure on either a dark gray or light gray. Multicolored: Place a minifigure anywhere on the board, even if someone's piece is there. The last one is Black: Place the spider in a quadrant. Every piece is scared off of their spots in that quadrant. The game continues like this until somebody places all four of their monsters in a row. EDIT: I wasn't quite sure where to post this so I assumed that the 'Other' forum would be the correct choice.

My older brother does it as well so my family was kind of already groomed to the fact. As for partner attempting to stop you, not in the least. She enjoys building too. The funny stares never stop though. Some people just don't understand a passion or a hobby. No one rolls their eyes when they say they play a musical instrument or build models. Throw in LEGO though and it just seems silly to them. Also try walking across a university campus with a new LEGO box...That gets you some stares.

1 point to each of the following in a random order 2. Tanotrooper Capture of the Eagle of the 45th (Waterloo) 9. Aalak Battle of Hagelberg 18. Etzel The "Kalabalik" at Bender Etzel, you have by far my favorite. Good entries all around gentlemen!

I like the razor branch the best : ) Your treant looks much better vs the Crystal King. He has more meat on him. The Crystal King looks like an anorexic mountain to be honest.

Wow, congratulations, you just won the prize for being awesome. Everything is so well detailed and, having played the video games myself, am happy to see that most of the traps and challenges are present somewhere in here. LEGO should have done something huge and ridiculous just like this. How many pieces exactly are there?
-
At this rate Oky wont have to shop for LEGO anymore. He will just enter contests.
-
I read this as 'Gundam Sentry' and was sorely disappointed. At this point however I have to say that I like it : )
-
Let the records show that I voted for all but one of these sets hehe. Great contests, great entries, great prizes. Good job Eurobricks and thanks for everyone who entered.

This is really a pretty good set, although I am a bit scarred by those pants : \ The finish line is what really makes this great though, which is kind of strange for a racing set. The flames are just too good and complete this set really well. Good review.

MOC: Power Miners Hard Suit
legitimatealex replied to Oky's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
You're a bit useless here, aren't you? So what if his MOC is held together by the minifig? It's still functional and looks good. My only complaint mirrors a previous one. Purple stripes don't look right. -
With that hair they're totally emo kids.

Good lord this place is ridiculous! I love it! The amount of purple is just Willy Wonka to the extreme. Have you thought of a Flickr account though? That would be easier for displaying these pictures I would think.
