Another Brick In The Wall (Ein Kleiner Witz)
legitimatealex replied to legitimatealex's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
Maybe briefly, but then he's going to run for governor of California. -
It's both really. I bought the Battle of Alamut for the black minifigure because I really wanted one but I also wanted a large amount of tan pieces, as well as the new darker sand colored bricks. I also wanted the new arches etc. I don't think I would buy a set specifically for a single minifigure; if the set wasn't alluring on its own. The only instance of this I can of is when I bought the 'Monster 4' board game for all of the minifigure heads that came with it. Either way there's nothing wrong with buying a set just for one purpose. If you just want the minifigures then there's no real harm in buying the set because let's face it, there's no such thing as having too many bricks. If you just want the bricks then you could always sell the minifigures or just hold on to them. You never really know when they'll be useful. Cheers

Will there be more Prince of Persia Sets?
legitimatealex replied to legitimatealex's topic in LEGO Licensed
I can say that I have never been more let down by a theme more than this one in terms of the number of sets. I was kind of crushed when the pirates line only lasted another year but they lacked the inventiveness that PoP has. I think it is a possibility that more sets will reveal themselves around the time of the DVD release, or possibly even before hand to scare up some excitement for the DVD release. Who knows though, maybe LEGO just has some sets under wraps? -
Hello, my name is Alex and I am an AFOL. My LEGO collection is small in size but growing maybe biweekly but I shall continue to strive and find inventive ways to compile and build with them! I also run a little web log with funny LEGO comics that I come up with. I also wish I had taken better care of all of my LEGO from when I was a kid. How ignorant I was. So that's my LEGO self in a nutshell. I'm a sucker for the historical lines of LEGO. Alex

Are the shields stickers? The gray outline around the logos make it seem like they're stickers.

As the topic title suggests, do you believe that LEGO will create and release more Prince of Persia sets, either for this movie or a possible sequel? I know that this is a bit early to ask since the movie hasn't even premiered yet, but what do you think the possibilities are? I'm sure that there are more scenes from the movie that could be recreated by LEGO.

The more people I see rework this set the more I need to go out and buy it. Darn you Toys R Us for running out of stock for this almost immediately.

Any robed minifigure chestpiece will make a nice Persian bystander, as will most people with an open shirt. To this end it would be recommended to look at some of the pirates from previous sets. There may be quite a few Star Wars minifigures to look at, mostly Jedi and relevant Sith counterparts. I know you're not interested in spending any money on these sets, but if you happen to have anything from the Star Wars line, definitely look through the minifigures. As for head pieces, turbans are always great, hair should be limited to black and brown. Any helmet or cap that you can turn to look like a skull cap would also work. Hope this helps.

You're very kind : ) -
Well I was just giving a heads up to everyone else that they're appearing around me so it could possibly be the same around others. Just to get a head start for those like me who cannot wait.

I just visited both my local Target and Wal-Mart in the US and both are now stocking and selling Prince of Persia sets. Only had enough on me for the $10 set though : \ I'm not sure if this has been posted elsewhere or if it is news but I just thought people should now know they can check just more than Toys R Us for PoP : ) Have a nice day.

How open are you about your Lego passion?
legitimatealex replied to Fugazi's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I make little comics out of my LEGO for funny or for worse and just occasionally update my Facebook status to share it with my friends. My family definitely knows as they purchased some sets for me for Christmas. Some people are a little confused. They kind of expect other things in a guy's apartment. Who knows what -

I disagree and agree at the same time. I miss the baseplates that most sets used to come with, however I was happy with the quasi plate that came with the Skull Island. You are right, the fort was rather disappointing and did not make any sense (Looked more like a walk down a dock rather than a fort) but I thought that the other sets that came in the line were decent. The raft was definitely an improvement from the old ones. I liked that I could get the captain minifigure in multiple sets rather than just on or two, and even though the Tic Tac Toe came with Chinese plastic for the most part, I still loved all the minifigures it gave me. I was sad that it was only here for a year but I'm sure they'll bring it back soon enough. -
I'm pretty sure that everyone will want every single minifigure in the set. I don't think I'll curse getting repeats until I'm finally down to the very last one that just forever evades my grasp.
