Has anybody Bricklink-d this set? or any other Modular sets? Has anybody done a cost comparison? I would think the GG has some rare colors...

I missed on the city hall. it was too big... I feel the newer ones have more detail, each one is cool. Also there are a lot of good MOC out there. that fit in nice. Get what you can while you can....

Is there any chance there is a build for the Mini Falcon? too cool... as well as the others.... haha

I love these mini/midi versions... is there a chance parts list or break down? I would love to see the ghost... I think i have an idea... and your corvettes are very cool!

I am sure lego thinks about how many pieces... This set just never looked that great compared to the show....

Here is my cockpit mod that I did awhile ago. after these pics were taken I have added detail inside the cabin. I have left most of the build the same.

It does look better. How did you do this part? did you lower the "hood"? It always sat high to me...

7676 has structure flaw. the top section is not secure to the mid section. And the wings and engines are also not secure. the newest version fixes all these issues. as for the old sets being bad. I feel they do not count because they are just old. I actually just sold off most of my 99-01 sets. As i feel they were really cool back then, but just outdated and vintage now... they were never bad sets. Just old. 7676 and 8039 are poorly designed/engineered sets... 8039 wins for me as the worst designed set.

So i guess the question is... Is this the worst Star Wars Lego set? I would have to say yes...

I saw that post. And my statement is that it looks horrible, has a bad build. And... is not for play with children. My son got it in 2008, i helped him build it. And watched him play with it. it flexes and falls apart. I have done mods. Untitled Untitled The venator was 09... but the 2008 gunship is the same thing. It looks good, but play wise it is horrible... the 2013 is so much stronger. I saw Sahidko's mod and it is good, but was wondering if there are others... I feel this one is best left alone... and maybe build a nice Midi version.

I have always felt this set is the worst designed set... in fact most of the 2008 sets i feel are bad. has anybody done an update on this ship? I have done some strengthening to the sagging front and fixed the middle.... has anybody done anything else to it? or are we just waiting for a new one?

I feel scale has nothing to do with Lego. look at the technic sets. Or the Ferrari F40 vs the Mini. I think Lego views the sets as detailed. The Hoth set is a UCS: I personally do not feel it is, but its a UCS. I collect what (I) think is cool and looks the part. (slave 1, red 5, Y-wing.. etc....) The hoth set is not welcome in my home.... haha

Thank you, I have the yellow bits, but I just had to do red... I think I would love to see a A-Wing UCS. And the red 5 is the reboot, it devalues the old quick. i just sold off all my 1999-2002 SW sets. I felt like I was giving them away for free... oh well... onto new homes.. :)

I think a Midi would be cool, and in clone wars colors... grey/blue... UCS would be too much I think, and I do not think this is a fan favorite ship.

Thinking of building a Midi Landing Craft. would love to see a collection of others who have built them...

I have to agree with the 1st comment, It is for Kids. And Castle Legos do not sell like Disney star wars etc.. Lego also did Chima, and Ninjago... I have kids and all the friends only like ninjago. most kids did not like Chima, and look how well that turned out...

I also had the same idea and was playing with this idea: Untitled with same idea as yours... the bricks direct was a quick idea.

What do you guys think about the rear engine? I dont like the bricks holding the slopes. but I have tried other ways... this looks ok from the outside...

I am going to try decals 1st, i want Light B grey on the canopy. like the real Y... haha I am also working on red stickers for the nose.
