8440 also used the hoses for engine detail. That was my first ever technic set as a kid and I thought that aspect was amazing

I'm excited for this; these big complicated technic builds are my favorite, and my son loves them too

MOC: 7898 Cargo Train converted to Power Functions!
Carefree_Dude replied to Carefree_Dude's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Wow, I posted this almost a decade ago. This train has been boxed away for years. I probably can't provide more pictures, but I can tell you that I used some good ole fashion snot techniques for the tank below the train plate. The design is similar to under the maersk train -

I got the lights for the trains, and they work well. So far I am disappointed by the line do the the lack of motors.

Chances of an Emerald Night re-release?

Man, so much eliteism here. Sure it may not conform to your ideas of what a steam engine should be, but it is a fun set and an interesting build, which is all that should matter in a mass produced childrens toy. -
Man i wish I could live in Germany so much. My wife isn't okay with leaving her family though.

Man I wish my rent was only 1500 a month. People here don't agree with the high rents we have to pay. We just don't have much choice in the matter.

I'm impressed: Not because of the building, but because It didn't get leaked as far as I know. (i know it being a garage was leaked, but I didn't see any pictures?) As far as teh buildig goes, i don't know if I i like it yet, but I'll probably buy it because Lego could create a modular building that looked like a giant turd and I'd probably still buy it.

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Carefree_Dude replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
I don't know if I like the idea of a garage but I'll wait for official images for judgement. I doubt the model will be bad, and I'm sure it will have some great building techniques. Even if I'm not a huge fan of the model I'll probably buy it anyway like the diner -

I love your loader more than I like the A model. I'm curious what it looks like with the 42030 bucket on it. I"ll probably build it once I get the set. out of curiosity, do you have a picture of leftover parts? -

I made a mistake on the bugatti set (positioned a beam wrong by one stud) and Had to disassemble hours of work in order to fix it. Haven't made a mistake like that since! -
Hey, at least this cycle isn't as bad as the Modular Building cycle "The current modular building is great!" "I bet the next one will be (insert unrealistic expectation here)" *"Fakes" get posted* "Wow, these really meet my expectations!" *pictures get leak* "There is no way that is the building because it isn't (insert unrealistic expectation here) *leak gets confirmed* Well this building is just terrible, there is no way I'm buying it. *set comes out* Well this building is terrible but I might as well buy it because I have all the other ones (Loop to beginning)

Replace Rubberband Treads on 9V Train Motors
Carefree_Dude replied to Phoxtane's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I forget the exact size, but I just went to an auto store, showed them the rubber currently on the wheel, and asked for a similar size O ring. They provided me a small bag of them for a few bucks and they worked perfectly.- 16 replies
