Very nice modular building . I like how it is quite unique compared to the "standard" modular building format. Also, cool use of the golden microfigs

I've got my first title! Don't go beyond that door... Given to me by WhiteFang, and I suspect it has something to do with my latest MOC

Very nice detailing. I love the fountain and the overall look is just gorgeous

Thanks for the nice comments everyone Not every kid can have a perfect costume I like to state my source(s) of inspiration

Inspired by TheBrickster's article about decorating the city layout for fall and halloween, I've made this little halloween scene with some kids trick or treating. There's a few more pictures in my flickr account. Happy halloween

Halloween Mini-Month Avatar Contest! VOTE NOW!
Cecilie replied to Shadows's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I wonder what has happened to my avatar. Is this her true self? I hope not -
My only complaint about the new icons was that they seemed to be a bit too large (increasing the size of each row), but now they seem to have shrunk to a more appropriate size And I like the style, I agree that it fits better with the style of the forum in general.

There was a DJ having a disco all on his own in my mailbox today. He has now been brought together with some friends to party with. Thanks WhiteFang -
Very nice building I can't help but notice the dirty plate in front of the door in the corridor, is that on purpose to create a door mat effect? If so, I think it looks very cool

Didn't see these comments earlier, guess the staircase is kind of divisive, either you like it, or you don't Thanks for the comments Yeah, I've seen your review of the old one, and it was actually what made me remember seeing that set in a catalog as a child, which again sparked the idea of making this one Thanks

Thanks for all the nice comments everyone Yes, I agree about the staircase. I wanted the garage to have some stairs, so my minifigs wouldn't have to jump down . I thought a spiral staircase would take up the least space, but after building it, I had trouble finding a good place to put it. I tried to make it fit behind the car wash, but it just blocked the exit of the car wash. The current placement is actually the best I could do, although it does look sort of out of place. Any ideas about a better placement for it, or a more suitable type of staircase are welcome. The staircase is actually quite stable once it's put in place, but it was a bit of a pain to work on it. The car ramp just works by pushing it upwards, making the wheels roll along the technic axles. If you've build the 7633 - Construction site, you'll know how it works. In this set however, the ramp is light enough to be able to stop anywhere an the axles (one of the wheels has a tyre on it, creating enough friction to hold it in place), but mine is so heavy that I have to support it with my hand or it will drop down pretty fast... Thanks, and I will! Yes, I thought about that. I also thought about tiling the parking floors, but I would have had to buy way more tiles on bricklink for that, so I decided that tiling was for paving the sidewalk, and driving areas would not be tiled. But I agree that it might look better tiled...

I've had the Town Plan (10184) on display at home for some time now, and wanted to expand the gas station into something inspired by the old Metro Park & Service Tower (6394). After bying 7633 - Construction site, I got some inspiration for a car elevator. I initally wanted to combine the gas station from the Town Plan with 7642 - Garage, but I ended up scrapping most of the stuff from that set, except for some things inside the service station, and all those white pillars. The end result is the size of two modular houses, and can be used in a layout along side them (although i haven't tried this to see how it looks, as my display space is somewhat limited at the moment). The construction is modular in that it can be separated into two times 32x32 just like any modular house, and all the floors can easily be taken off. The only floors that are attached with some studs for stability are the roof above the gas station and the one above the car wash. But enough talk, on to some pictures: More photos can be seen in my flickr account. Hope you like it

This is the best adaptation of the Pizza & Bike shop set from LEGO into a modular house I have seen so far. And I love the way you have made it possible to remove the back wall for added playability

Vote for your favourite Category A entries
Cecilie replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
There are so many entries in this category that it's really hard to choose a favorite, but after much consideration, I award my points to: 16) Lifeguard Entry (Build by Plissken) - The idea is spot on for this fig 15) Traffic Cop Entry (Build by Profound Whatever) - Of course the cop is going to be hanging around in a donut shop 28) Mexican Entry (Build by Mariko) - So many nice details! And funny idea too -
Vote for your favourite Category B entries

Finally had some time to look closely at all entries and pick my favorites. I award my points to: 19) Skater Boy & Spartan Entry (Build by Etzel) - This one really made me laugh, and it's a very beautiful MOC - 2 points 10) Robot & Jungle Explorer Entry (Build by Darkblane) - The half-and-half with contrasting colors is just brilliant. - 1 point -
Well, I guess I'm bad at telling when people are making jokes when I can't see their faces

I guess it's a matter of the rules of the contest in question. The minifig contest here on EB is a contest about who builds the vig most people like, it's not a "who has more friends"-contest. However, the Kylie contest actually says to rally up friends to vote using facebook or whatever, so it really is a "who has more friends"-contest, and hence, there's nothing wrong in gathering EB-members to vote in that particular contest. In my opinion anyway...

If you haven't figured it out yet, I'm guessing he's talking about this: http://amodularlife.wordpress.com/2010/10/01/10217-%E2%80%93-diagon-alley/ (this is the only place I've read about it, but I'm guessing it's posted somewhere in the Licensed forum as well)

Voted :) Gotta love the creativity (and the hair piece!), even if I'm not a die hard Kylie fan

Very cool, but also very disturbing... I feel sorry for all those poor pigs and cows Anyway, great Stonehenge And of course, I like the use of a male human sacrifice

Thanks for this handy guide I'll definitely try out this technique sometime.

After reading the first few lines of your article, I immediately had this exact idea I think I might actually create a small trick-or-treating scene. I don't really have a town layout (or space for one) that I can get ready for the fall season, but I can always create some vigs

I think this a very accurate MOC of a Japanese temple, and I don't mind the studded roof at all, I think it looks great the way it is

Yey, my first time winning something at EB The DJ isn't one of my favorites, but this one is going up on the wall as a trophy to remember this glorious event This contest was both a lot of fun and very frustrating (yeah, the weightlifter...), but it was also somewhat educational to someone who is pretty new to EB
