DC Superheroes 2020 - Rumors & Discussion

Or in some cases, no sets at all (yes I'm still a little peeved we never even got a single Shazam set). But I feel like The Batman will be the exception and we'll get 3 sets for it instead of only one. -

This year's sets has to be the one that it comes in, I tell you. How much longer can they continue to use the Rebirth Batsuit minifigure (the light OR the dark grey version), by this summer it'll be 2 whole years that Bruce has been wearing the Hush Batsuit in the comics. -

Hot damn, that looks even better than expected! Though when I meant standard cowl I was talking about the long eared version, but the overall figure looks perfect. -

Has anyone tried switching out First Appearance Batman's hands and cowl for black hands and a standard cowl to see how it looks? Since Lego doesn't seem to want to give me an updated Hush Batsuit anytime soon, this would be the next best thing. -

It IS a stunt Batsuit, that's the stunt double wearing the suit. -

If a Series 2 happens, I could easily see Alan show up as a figure to compliment the other JSA members we got in Series 1 like Jay and Stargirl. And if Lego really wanted to, they could do a reverse of what they did in Series 1 by having the Golden Age Green Lantern and a Modern Age Flash like New 52 Wally/Wallace West or Impulse. -

You might be on to something, I can definitely see the ears curving outward in this (very blurry, but it's the best we got so far) shot. And it's also interesting to note that the symbol on his suit is the same style as the First Appearance symbol with no bat head being on it. -

I'm hoping this will finally be the wave we get the updated Hush Batsuit too, how long can they keep reusing either of the Rebirth Batsuit minifigures? Though I'm still wondering why we're getting another red Nightwing. The New 52 color scheme has been outdated for the past 4 years now in the comics, he's been back in blue ever since Rebirth. And I know this is a long shot, but it would be amazing if the Robin we get is Tim Drake with his suit from the recent Young Justice comic run. Ever since Damian showed up in the Joker Steamroller set from 2014 it's like Tim vanished from the sets (besides the Black Manta set from 2015 where he was in a scuba suit), even though he was Robin for the first 2 years of DC sets. After that, all we got were either variations of Dick as Robin, New 52 Jason Todd, or more Damian. I know most of us want Red Robin, but Tim's dropped that costume and name for a while now and has taken on a terrible new name and costume recently (search up "Drake"). But his Young Justice suit is a perfectly updated version of his first Robin suit from the 90s which means we could get a new version of the original 2006 Robin torso, maybe with dual molded sleeves this time: -

Besides the Lego Stores, Toys R Us, and Mastermind Toys near me, I've yet to see the CMF's in other stores as well. My closest Walmart for example STILL had the Disney Series 2 CMF's out, with another unopened case behind it. -

I guess eBay doesn't rip you off all the time after all. After going through a few different sellers I managed to find someone that was willing to sell me an unopened case of 60 figures for $235 Canadian. The shipping is going to bump up that price significantly, but at least I didn't have to pay $300 for it if I went to a store to get it. -

Looks like Toys R Us in Canada already has the CMF's out, or at least they do in one Toronto store thanks to @Ashnflash's new haul video. -

A close up picture of the 4+ Mysterio minifigure leaked, and he looks great. Any problem I had with the MCU minifigure (the overly busy design on the torso primarily) is fixed with this one. A little disappointing that the checkered printing doesn't continue on to the legs, it just looks incomplete without it. -

Man that Batmobile continues to amaze me the more I see it in pictures. I hope my eBay order of it gets here soon, I can't wait to build it. And it might just be me, but the 2006 Batmobile holds up pretty well next to it. I'm still waiting for someone to take a picture of it without the stud shooters and some tiles in their place though. Side-note, I recently noticed that the GWP Batmobile is very similar in terms of design and appearance to the version that Lego made in Lego Batman 3. The only real difference is that the fins on the video game model look a lot more accurate than the fins on the actual physical release. I might just have to modify mine, it looks simple enough. Here's the link to the instructions if anyone else wants it: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-2495/GreenLantern/lego-batman-3-the-batmobile-1989/#bi -
DC Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

90% of the "hate" I've seen for this series is people asking/crying about why DC got another series (which is not really true considering that the previous two Batman CMF series were mainly joke variants, D-list Batman villains, or characters based on how they appeared in the 70s, not a serious attempt of making a series with comic figures like we got with this one) but Marvel, or more specifically the MCU, didn't. And it ticks me off because these people apparently can't spend a few minutes to google and find out that Lego LEGALLY can't make a Marvel CMF series because of Hasbro being the only company to have the rights to sell the characters as individually packaged figures. Why do you think the Marvel Funko Pops are always bobble heads, but the DC ones are regular vinyl figures?. -

I'd love if the GWP Batmobile didn't end up selling out and it would come back again at a later date, but I already know that's wishful thinking for me at this point. This GWP isn't like the Avengers Tower where it's just a (in my opinion, useless) minibuild, with the main incentive being a Tony Stark minifigure that is only specific for a single scene in Age of Ultron. This is a 100% movie accurate 1989 Batmobile that can fit a Batman minifigure AND is in minifig scale, something that I'm sure hordes of people have wanted Lego to officially make since the original Batman line back in 2006. It'd be absolutely amazing if it came back, but I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being sold out by December 5th. -

I found some reviews for the GWP Batmobile recently this past week and besides the fact that it looks even more beautiful in the review pictures, it's also completely in scale when you put a Batman minifigure next to it. Interesting thing to note, I just found this set on the Australian Lego Shop at Home page where it has it priced at a $50 value, which when converted to USD is approx. $33 or $45 CAD: https://www.lego.com/en-au/product/mini-batmobile-40433-40433 -

Wow, these Spider-Man sets must be eco-friendly since they love to recycle. At least the 4+ Mysterio set actually gives me a reason to pick it up for that classic comic book Mysterio, it's about time he showed up. Now Lego needs to make a yellow and green Electro with the headpiece and the first Sinister Six lineup would be complete. Fun fact, the set is actually named after Mysterio's first appearance story. -

"those who purchase the set between 29th November and 5th December will receive an exclusive mini replica of the original model as a free gift available in limited quantities." Welp, looks like it's off to eBay for me. -

I can almost guarantee we'll get sets for The Batman. He's already Lego's bread and butter for their DC sets, and I'd eat my shoe if we didn't end up getting at least a few sets to tie-in with the movie when it comes out in 2021. And we could finally get a Mad Hatter minifigure that way since Lego doesn't seem to want to include him in a comic Batman set or the CMF series at this point. -

As much as I'd like to have that UCS Batmobile, I really don't have the space for it. While gorgeous looking, I really can't go through with it since I'm really just going to end up blowing $300+ CAD for a giant display model. I'll end up buying the minifigures separate, though I don't see much use for the Keaton Batman thanks to that new cape piece that prevents him from either sitting down or sitting in a vehicle. And since the cape is connected both to the cowl and the logo, you lose it all if you take it off. That minifigure scale 89 Batmobile is another story. It's what I've wanted ever since the original Batman line and after going through countless "inspired" variations of it that Lego has made over the years, I'm finally getting a 100% accurate rendition of it that can fit a minifigure. Just remove those stud shooters and replace it with some tiles and it's good to go. I really hope it isn't a GWP with the UCS version, otherwise I'm going to have to go through a bloody bidding war on eBay where I'll probably end up paying triple the price for it. But I guess if it comes to that, I'll just Bricklink the pieces and make it myself. -

She was pretty much the third main character in the movie behind Keaton's Batman and Nicholson's Joker, which is probably why we're getting her instead of someone like Pfeiffer's Catwoman since the set is based on the 1989 movie instead of Batman Returns. Though if this Bat-vehicle D2C could get a third minifigure, I'm now wondering why the Tumbler D2C couldn't fit in one more figure that everyone would've wanted like Two-Face or Hathaway's Catwoman... -

Huh, they actually went with the blue boot Rebirth suit. I for sure thought that Lego would just skip straight to the Reborn suit design instead. I'm not mad though, I really liked his Rebirth design, it felt unique (and it was the only Superman suit design that Lego could use to validly justify why they didn't give him any red boots ). That new heat vision face is going to be a lot more useful than the other one we've been getting since 2013, where Superman looked like he always needed to be filled with rage to use it. This one could easily represent him either being extremely ticked off, or just trying to focus his heat vision on something that needed his absolute concentration. And now this adds up to 2 suits for the Post-Crisis/Pre-Flashpoint Superman (his classic suit we've been getting since 2012 and now his Rebirth suit), while New 52 Superman is probably never going to see the light of day as a minifigure anytime soon. TDKR Joker turned out really well too. The white suit could also double for Black Mask's suit, but the standout pieces have to be his head and hair. I wish it was in the standard green instead of lime green, but at least we finally have the Twelfth Doctor/Peter Venkman hair in some shade of green so that a proper Arkham games Joker could be made from it. The head to me is probably my second favorite Joker face behind the 2006 face. Heck it looks like an updated version of that one, all you need is to just swap the hair with the green Dracula hair. Bat-Mite...looks like Bat-Mite. I'm glad they gave him the floppy eared cowl and everything, it really completes the look of him trying to emulate his biggest idol.
