Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
TheBatstan replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
It wouldn't be the first time that Venom could do something like that. The Spider-Man: Web of Shadows video game had the exact same idea as the final boss fight for the game, where you fight this giant symbiote (nicknamed "Venomzilla") with regular Venom inside it: -

So they're both getting their own separate theme again, just like in the early and mid 2000s. -

This Venom definitely looks to be inspired more from his classic appearances (compare the bottom part of the minifigure's spider logo to how someone like Mark Bagley drew it, they look identical). I am definitely going to get him, I missed out on the first Venom and by getting another of his torso piece, I'll have 99% of a Black Suit Spider-Man minifigure (thanks SDCC). Now if Lego would re-release that Carnage minifigure that came out a few years ago... EDIT: I didn't even see those new Sandman and Vulture figures until now, my wallet is starting to cry. -

He's already been back to wearing it for the past month or so. I just hope Lego manages to get a minifigure of that suit out before he switches to another one in future comic issues, it'll basically be the original 2006 Lego Batman minifigure but with updated...everything! -

And especially since Batman is going back to wearing it in the comics soon, it would be the perfect time to give remake that Batsuit again. Though I feel like they'd just make the suit in Dark Bluish Gray instead of Light Bluish Gray this time, with the belt printing being Tan instead of Yellow, and dual molded boots. -
Found a speed build of the Knightmare Batman accessory pack and IMO it's worth it just for the Knightmare Batman minifigure alone, he's even got arm printing! And that Joker tile piece is perfect, even if it did take them 12 years to decide to make a new one.

Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation

I wouldn't put too much stock into those rumors, the guy who originally posted the whole "Year One" thing has a TERRIBLE track record. Frankly, the only info you should 100% trust is the one that comes from Matt Reeves. -
Always nice to meet another fan. And I noticed that this is the first time since the original Lego Batman line where we're getting a Joker card piece, the previous one only ever appeared in the first Batwing set (I don't count the one that the Jester had in the Minifigures Series 12 line). About time, that old one was getting expensive on Bricklink.

I am drooling over that Knightmare Batman pack. I always loved the design (and I'm probably the only one here that actually loved the Ultimate Edition of the movie), and the fact that it comes with a cheap way to get two Parademons (traditional green ones too, instead of the weird yellow ones from the JL sets), and a small Joker card print, it's perfect.

It's a good thing that the Poison Ivy minifigure from next year has the perfect hair to give to Mera.

Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation
TheBatstan replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
(Probably off-topic) but at SDCC today they announced that Batman is going to go back to his Batman: Hush era suit in the upcoming issues. And since Lego usually is good on releasing the same Batsuit variant in a set around the same time that Batman is actually wearing that suit in the comics, does this mean that there's a chance that we could get an eventual updated version of the original 2006 Batsuit (which is pretty much the exact suit that he wore in Hush). I'd know I'd do anything to get my hands on that minifigure, it's still one of my favorite Batsuit designs that Lego has made to date. -

Technically all the Robins could use the new legs since they were all kids/pre-teens when they became Robin. Hopefully the leg pieces eventually come in different colors, then we can finally have a proper teenage Robin who isn't as tall as Batman. I already know Penguin is going to benefit greatly from those new legs, he'll finally be able to move after all these years. Even the Credence Barebone figure in that series can now give people the chance to make a DCEU Barry Allen (since they're both portrayed by Ezra Miller). -
I think it's supposed to mimic his classic appearance from the old Filmation 1967 Aquaman cartoon/Super Friends cartoon, given that the box is supposed to be a VHS tape box that would be from around that period (though now that I look at it, Fred's hairpiece from Scooby-Doo would've fit a lot better).

Future DC Super Heroes Rumors & Speculation
TheBatstan replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
It's because James Wan has said that he wants the VFX to look as perfect as possible before they release a trailer so that people don't start complaining about how the effects don't look good. And Black Manta looking just like the comic minifigure isn't surprising, since those who've seen what he looks like at CinemaCon have said that appearance wise, Manta was ripped straight from the comics. -

So the next Direct-to-video Lego DC movie is going to be Lego Aquaman: Rage of Atlantis. And aside from characters like Atrocitus and Mera making their first appearance, Jessica Cruz is also showing up as well. Pretty sure that leaked minifigure of her from a while back is going to be the one that'll be included with the DVD. And seeing Jessica with the Plate, Round 1 x 1 with Handle piece in Bright Green and a 1x1 Round Tile with the GL Corps logo printed on it makes me hope that Lego releases the handle piece in that color one day so that I can finally stop using the Trans-Clear version. -

Actually, Spielberg had his eye on a Blackhawks movie since the early 1980s: https://www.newsarama.com/39565-spielberg-has-been-interested-in-blackhawk-since-1980s-according-to-marv-wolfman.html -
I wouldn't have minded if we got a Avatar: The Last Airbender pack, since the last time we got anything related to that was 12 years ago with a failed theme that only got 2 sets.

That Lex minifigure looks pretty spot on to how he looked in the early Rebirth issues:

TT Games and Lego did make a really good recreation of it as a display model for LB3, maybe they'll use that as inspiration?

I always saw the Asylum Batmobile as what would happen if you mixed the Burton Batmobile with The Animated Series Batmobile (and maybe a small bit of inspiration from Nolan's Tumbler with how rugged it looked), but I get what you mean about the AK version being chosen instead, it's very unique. Now I wonder if this one will be able to convert into a Battle Mode...

This was unexpected. I didn't think we'd ever see the Arkham Knight Batmobile show up (though am I the only one who prefers the Arkham Asylum version more?). And by Talon, are we talking about the assassins for the Court of Owls? Cause I always wanted one of those as a minifigure, and it looks like my wish is coming true.

The LEGO Batman Movie Set/CMF Rumors & Discussion
TheBatstan replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
If you live in the GTA, I highly recommend Mastermind Toys. They had most of the new TLBM sets for the past week, as well as the regular DC 2018 wave, Mighty Micros, and the Series 2 CMF's. And they were all at retail price instead of going the Toys R Us route of jacking up the price as soon as it releases. -
If only Lego made the SDCC Shazam figure in a set instead of being an exclusive that goes for hundreds of dollars, it looks so much better than that weird custom figure. At least we'll get a DCEU version with the movie (I hope), or a New 52 version with the hood (which I'm surprised hasn't been made yet).

I knew that Black Vulcan torso would work perfectly for Black Adam. And that Killing Joke Joker and Dr. Sivana are just perfect. Nice job!
