  1. I've added an extension to the Prison Tower Rescue set which makes it a bit larger and secures the back side of the building. The extension is on hinges, so it opens up for modular playability. See more pictures here Comments welcome.
  2. is looking for legos

  3. what is "A new windstorms set"?
  4. I can't imagine that this set would not be designed in a similar style to the MMV. TLG gives me the impression that their target customers (i.e. children) prefer the castles and battle themed sets, so it would make sense for the Mill to be targeted toward AFOLs who have been asking for civilian sets in the castle theme. They would reach less of an audience if they offered a <insert that tiresome argument> Medieval Mill.
  5. http://www.bordersmedia.com/coup/20101012item33.html has a 33% coupon, but it is only good through today. edit: Sorry, I overlooked your comment about tomorrow or later...
  6. I also agree that there shouldn't be another new faction until the Dragons get at least a fair castle, although I have no inside information on what is coming next year, I would imagine that we will get some news sets a little later in the year due to the fact that the first Kingdom sets weren't available in the US until May/June.
  7. Somewhat. From what I can see in LDD, the detail is even and appears flush, but I had to use slants and curves to achieve it, so there are cheese bricks and rounded pieces combined. I would have preferred only rounded bricks, but I could not get anything to flow with the angle I was working with. There are also some spots where the blue "morter" look is not continuous because of the angle. I'll post some pictures later with a better view of the front.
  8. Let me know if you figure out something for the roof to give it a finished look.
  9. Thanks, I've been enjoying your different winter MOCs with the train station and postal office.
  10. I'm not sure what you mean by real bricks. The model was designed in LDD with available Lego bricks, but I have not actually built it with physical bricks. I'll be sure to post it if I ever do buy the set. I'm kind of waiting to see what the next modular set it, so I don't end up with two banks.
  11. Thanks for all the comments! The lamps have lifelite LEDs that are wired into them. Most of the lamps are brickforge custom lamps but I also wired a lifelite LED through the bakery lamp, and I think it actually looks a lot better because it has a better reflection. The wires all run under the platforms and the battery box is in the toy shop. http://lifelites.com/products/163 I know it is a little early for Christmas, but I was excited to build it after finding the Village Bakery at my local Lego Store.
  12. Updated Photo with semi finished bank.
  13. Here is a pictures of my recently created Christmas Scene. I've combined the winter toy shop with the village bakery and added some lifelites to the lamp posts, Christmas tree, and skating pond. Check out more on flickr.
  14. The house looks great! I really like the staircase and the spiral stairs; awesome detail! The roof looks really nice and I know those can be a bit of a challenge. I think the grey railing looks nice, though I personally would have just been consistent with the torch holders instead of using the skeleton feet on the second floor balcony, but it looks like you were going for a slightly shorter railing on that floor. Great job and very impressive! Care to post the estimated price?
  15. I only just started collecting Castle again after coming out of my dark age, so my collection of different factions is limited to just Crowns, Lions, and Dragons. My crownies are associated with the Lions as the town guards/tax collectors, but they don't really fight side by side with the Lion Soldiers. Of course the dragons are on their own for the foreseeable future.
  16. I like the look of the set and will be happy to add it next to my Winter Toy Shop. The wagon will probably be changed to a sled as I think I've got a couple of those long white skis that would work well.
  17. 1. No 2. Usually I buy based on personal interest, but I do have all the CC type modulars 3. Neuschwanstein castle 4. Large Modular Castle that fits the Kingdoms theme, but incorporates a modular design. For example, the castle would be the main set, but additional sets like a great hall, stable, king's chambers, armory, etc could be added on to enlarge the main castle because each set would be an expansion set to the castle. 5. Looking forward to more modular city sets and the next wave of kingdoms!
  18. I've been working on a modular bank (I've only got the first floor so far) and I am looking for ideas for floor design and other suggestions before I start on the second level. I'm trying to get it to blend in with other Lego modulars and will probably use large brown double doors for the entrance. All the blue legos in the building are the regular blue. Please leave comments and suggestions. Thanks! Check out pics on Flickr UPDATE WITH NEW PICTURES
  19. First post; but I can't help admiring this building! From the initial pictures it looks as if the building has some kind of high ceiling atrium (at least starting from the second level) because I can't imaging the chandelier would be so big if it was wedged in the top floor. Also, I don't know if it is a lighting trick, but the chandelier appears to have a lot of light in it. I'm wondering if a white battery light brick (similar to the brick in the winter toy shop) was integrated in the chandelier?
