The April Lego Store Calendar states that "new elements from the official Series 1 minifigures would be available at the Lego store through the build a mini program' April Store Calendar According to a store employee, this will include torsos, legs, heads, hats and hair but no accessories. I'm actually excited about this because it will be a good way to get exactly what you want without having to use a bar-code system or dot-code system, especially for army builders. So what do you think? Will TLC release other series into the build a mini bin? Or is it just series 1 because it was sold out so quickly?

Fantastic! I love all the action going on in the scene and the height of the tower. Keep up the good work.

You can always order it online for a store pickup because the online price is often better than the store price.

I think he is getting the set number based on the number printed on the engine. Edit: sorry, a few minutes too slow I also noticed a door/hinge piece on the engine. I've only got an EN and not really into trains, but is that a new piece? Also, the flat piece with the sticker is similar to a piece on the Star Wars T-6 Shuttle. Have those 2x2x2 containers been in brown before next to the service truck? I do like the look of it and it would go very nicely with the Cargo Train.

Great New Piece for Castle: Baldrics!

I agree that it is a great piece, but probably won't fit if the figure is using the armour piece. -
Whitefang here at Eurobricks reveals Series 6?
MCNwakeboard replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
In the Lego press release related to the 2011 International Toy Fair, it stated "Collectors will rejoice over 48 never-before-seen LEGO Minifigures, each sold separately in unmarked packaging ($2.99 each)" which would indicate a total of three series for 2011. I am assuming they are counting the series 3 since it had an official release of January 2011, so you may have to wait until January 2012 (read November/December 2011) for a 6th series. I would actually prefer them to slow down the collectible minifigures a little if it meant more time was put into the design as some of the figures for series 5 aren't too appealing to me. -
General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread

This is slightly off topic, but I noticed the Barnes & Noble has had the POTC sets on pre-order for a while. They often have 20-30% coupons that are for members only. I wanted to see if anyone has been able to use the B&N coupons on Lego sets before I plunck down $25 for their membership fee or better yet, if anyone pre-ordered POTC sets from B&N and was able to get an additional discount from a coupon? Thanks -
General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread

My impression from the pictures: All the torsos look great but I'm disappointed that the fleshies won't mix very well with my 2009 pirate collection, but some of them are going to be great. The new gold bars look very nice and appear more metalic than the pearl gold pieces. I wanted the London escape set to have a more detailed house, but it does have some nice accessories. The carriage is rather lame but I won't mind getting more dark green pieces. I like the new hats with the gold printing on them. on Blackbeard's sword -
Being that the dragons do not have a decent castle to date...I decided to copy the King's Castle design and substitute the grey for black and the red with brown/dark green. While I realize that very little creativity is needed to swap colors, I wanted to post to picture in case anyone is interested in what it looks like. Most of the blacks are from my collection with the exception of the wall panels that I procured from bricklink. I'll be changing the gatehouse to incorporate a wind-up drawbridge in the near future to something similar to my Lion Castle. Comments are welcome Flickr

I'm also excited about the visored helm. The 2011 wave overall looks pretty good to me. I think the accessories that come with the Mill are great, although I am a little disappointed with the design as I expected something closer to the MMV style and I am not too fond of the barn roof. The prison set looks good and reminds me a little of Lagoon Lock-up with a small outpost and prison. So far the Lego Group is following a similar release pattern with the Kingdom Sets as with the Fantasy Era; we have had a large 'good knights' castle, with a mid-size tower for the opposition. We are getting a similar "Return of the Opposition" for the second year, so maybe we can expect a large Dragon castle in 2012 as well as a Lion Tower, though I wouldn't mind the Kingdoms line goings for more than 3 years.

You can kind of see what I mean about the cheese bricks and rounded bricks in this picture. -
Thanks for all the comments. Merrry Christmas

Yeah, I really like the gold knight, and luckily was able to convert him to the Lion Faction with the King's armor from the Castle set.

I saw an interesting clip that I wanted to pass on. It has a short portion on the Lego brick. My link

I thought TRU had a policy that if you returned a B1G1 50% off item and only the un-discounted set, than they would subtract the discount from the amount of cash/credit that you received. Though it seems like a confession would bring on the wrath of the forum, has anyone been able to return the full price set without a problem?

Thanks for the input. I could possibly see the sets being purchased in a ToysRus deal, but since everything is 30% off that wouldn't leave much room for profit. I have no idea how they could profit from the lego gift cards. -
MOC: The Building of Evesham Watchtower
MCNwakeboard replied to Ye Olde Pirate's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It is looking good so far and I know you are working with a limited space. I would consider improving the road to give it more of a cobblestone effect and perhaps making it less straight. You might want to have the tower further along in the process so it is easier to tell what they are building, maybe a couple bricks higher with an empty archway for the door. I do like what appears to be a mason mortering the stones. You could also add a wood/stone/dirt floor to the foundation to get ride of the grass floor look. Good Luck! -
Thanks for the suggestion. I finally figured out how to post pictures. I think I just have to wait for the moderator to approve them before they show up.

Here is a picture of the castle, sorry I didn't get detailed pictures, but it's an example of two castles put together. My link

I initially created a castle with a larger "footprint" before making the taller version. It had a stable as one of the wall extensions and a small keep/hall as another. The main thing that I don't like about the tall version is that it is hard to access the interior, but it does look a little more imposing. I'll drop a link here if I can find some pictures of it.
