Might be a good pose if he is being 'tossed' from the cave entrance.

Looks great! Thanks for sharing.

Here is a picture of the ship with three masts. I actually think it looks less crowded and better proportioned, so I'll probably just leave it like this. Flickr

Avalonia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
MCNwakeboard replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in Guilds of Historica
Our lands were recently devastated by earthquakes and fire; thus we seek refuge in Avalonia. In return, we pledge loyalty to King Artorius Rex and the Kingdom of Avalonia. If it pleases the guild, we will take up a small amount of land north of the Wither Woods and commence building a settlement. With luck, such natural calamities will not befall us in our new home... -Sir Mattius -
I am going to be attending (and displaying) my first Brickfair this year. I've heard really good things so I am sure it will meet my expectations.

They will give it back as long as you open a tab with one of your credit cards.

Bricklink.com is a good place to find specific pieces, although it can be a bit more expensive than buying bulk. I've purchased bulk lots off ebay in a specific color so I knew that I would receive all gray/etc. You might also try buying lots of specific themes (Castle, Harry Potter) so they pieces will be more useful for the type of theme you are going to focus on. I mostly use bricklink now that I have a few lbs of each color and just buy what I lack from Bricklink. Some people have luck with second hand sales or classified posts so that might be worth trying.

Very cool! Does the green knight always win? Would be great if you can post larger pictures of the castle.

I didn't want to create a new topic for this but I just posted a stop motion animation of the Orc Forge. Comments are welcome. edit to post video

Thanks for the advice, it is fairly easy to switch so I'll adjust to three masts and we can make the comparison.

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
MCNwakeboard replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
It looks like that list is part fiction/non fiction if you look at the comments below. -
I used parts from two black pearl sets to build this model along with about $50 in bricklink orders. Most of the brown/dark tan tiles came from a pick a brick cup and I had some of the common black pieces in my MOC bin. The lights were around $50 and this set was based on instructions which cost $20.

Lego Polar Xxpress 2013
MCNwakeboard replied to legomilk's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I am just taking his word for it from past experiences when Legomilk announced other upcoming Lego themes. I am guessing he knows someone in the Lego group and it would be in his/our best interest not to reveal his source. -
Wow, that looks great. Everything looks so natural, it'll win best in show at the Brickfair!

MOC of Bag End from Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit. It could be any other hobbit hole as well since I don't have exact floor plan of Bag End - Bilbo welcomes an old dwarf friend, though he is disappointed that it wasn't a formal invitation. Stay out of Mr. Bilbo's rose garden! Comments welcome - More pictures on Flickr

Feedback on Lego price comparison website
MCNwakeboard replied to a topic in General LEGO Discussion
Great looking site and it looks good on the iphone as well. How often do the prices update? When I was on, the site indicated that it was "last updated: 56 minutes ago" so it seems fairly often. Also, the search feature is great because it is fast. One cosmetic detail that I noticed was that the set headings seem to overlap on the search box so it took me a second to find it, though the problem doesn't show up on my iphone so maybe it is just my old laptop that has issues. Should be a easy fix. -
Great set modification. The tower bridge was actually the only Crownie set that I purchased (besides a couple MMV of course) and the drawbridge works fairly well. I hadn't thought to turn it into a Lion outpost, but the bluish grey works well with the red accents.

I didn't want to start another thread with the same ship, but I purchased the instructions available through Brickstruct and made some minor modifications and added Lifelites like I normally do. Here are a couple shots. More pictures on Flickr

Wow! Great use of parts for a finished look and awesome details. Are you going to sell this manual?
-
Wow, that looks great and very entertaining.

There is a bit of interior detail shown in some of the flickr pictures but I'll probably revisit it during the holidays.
-
Very nicely done. It fits the carriage style well.
-
Looks great! I really love the way the cannon ports are curved and the tiled deck. Looking forward to more progress pictures.

Thanks for the comments, I'll take them into consideration as I rebuild and modify. The extra mast is an issue but I included it as some models of the pearl have a third mast close to the helm and the my ship design didn't allow for that. The shorter and longer cabin length is something that could be improved as well. The extra ship cost was alleviated by selling the crew off on eBay since they seem to be selling well right now.
