2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Roebuck replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I do not think there is a advantage to have a gap between sets, normally the more successful a set/line is the longer the set stays on shelf’s e.g. the modular line with several sets at all times. It could of course be that MTS was suppose to stay a lot longer on shelf so they did not have time to release the next set before that retired and its in the works now. However it do not bode well for retro sets that everyone has retired before they suppose to except the LKC lately -

I hope you are right, but so far not a whisper in that regard so have not high hopes for anything (other that the GWP and maybe 1 CMF) That is one of the problems with the BDP sets, the designers have to behave as beggars and take scraps from other normal sets and whatever is on the menu at the time. If there was no vending machine or Creator 3-in-1 castle on shelf's now the minifigs in the coming BDP sets would be a sorry lot -

Sometimes there is a problem, but at least the geodes was just up on PAB a short time before the set retired right? There probably was a bigger issue in the USA, since one of the services was closed a long time and the tax issues on top of that.. As long as the vendor machine do not suddenly retire I do not think there is a problem with them, however it will take some time before all parts are in stock at the same time again probably. If you are not a member I recommend joining the parts channel on Discord, they you can get a notice when parts you are after come back in stock etc -
Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Roebuck replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
It is a nice set, but probably a lot voted in hopes they would be print, but as you say small chance of that with the 1 new print that seems to be the GWP limit in general.. Unfortunately no animals in this one, should have included a pigeon or two. A lot of the others had animals, but not anything more exciting than 2 pigeons -

I got 2 extra hares and a small printed bee round 1x1 with my last order. Nice to get, but far from the huge number of extra parts some few lucky ducks get -
I think maybe they are sets/parts coming with books from what I understand, so will probably be expensive to get, however nice to se the pigeon in a small "set" for the first time

Yes then it is something else and no huge part budget required, however we have gotten a few brick built dragons lately so not so interesting to me I must say..

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]
Roebuck replied to GreenhouseBricker's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I was thinking about the black knights Idea GWP ship set, but have not seen that confirmed this year so could be next year also.. I agree the micro scale GWP of the Castle this autumn do nothing for me, it must be minifig scale to be of interest -
The big bulk of animals we have gotten from City that made a few years the best ever probably regarding animals. There has been a leadership shift in City with more focus on vehicles and system, and while the system idea has merritt since we do not get a new police-station every year etc. It seems they will use budget on parts that can be used in several sets and connect the system together, so they prefer to make parts like the dog with the vest etc. Just give it a new print and it can be a police-, fire-, coastguard- etc dog and not a piglet, calf that only can be used in farm sets (of course Castle etc outside City as well). I hope I am wrong, but it seems we get less animals in City every year since the shift. I have some hope the new farm logo mean that we get a wave of farm sets in the near future like construction has got with their logo, if so we are likely to get some animals. However animals in City sets just because they are nice to have there seems more rare now..

They probably need the budget of a normal wave of sets to pull anything like Smaug of again, even if they just bring back all the parts of the old one it will cost a lot of money.. I also regret not buying that at the time

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but it could also be that the parts from MTS has not retired from PAB due to a error. MTS was suppose to be on shelf's longer at least 1 more year I think, so maybe the PAB team did not get the memo and the parts are still there because of that Icons 11382 1252 parts Space-themed display model August release Could of course be a modern space shuttle and nothing to do with retro sets We get a Castle GWP and that is it this year and basically nothing in the years to come except Creator 3-in-1 sets and a odd CMF, rather depressing thoughts -

And a decent GWP I could have ordered, but rather wait and get a decent GWP on a big PAB order than order day 1 and get nothing -

Ditto! I guess Castle fans must be happy with every bone Lego trow us, but jester is the least useful category of fig to me... Now animals as accessorizes either and only 3 figs so not a very promising wave I hope you are right however I have not heard anything that support that so far If we follow the Castle, Space and Pirates rotation of Icons retro sets it is suppose to be Pirates next. However according to the latest leak there could come a Space set in September (not sure if its a retro set). With the short shelf like the latest retro sets have had I suppose we should be happy if they continue to make them at all -
Definitely hope I guess it depends on the age range of the movie. New movies brought HP back and that is one of Lego most popular themes now I hope for Edoras and some cavalry (knowing Lego it will have 2 horses ) Think they forgot The Hobbits movies like the rest of us
-
It was suppose to be Pirates turn for an Icons set this year, but seems Space has cut in line according to the latest rumors. However as things are going I suppose we should be happy if they continue with the Icons retro sets at all

I did not mean that LOTR is to blame for why we do not get a Castle wave in 2026, but why it disappeared in the first place. Castle had been around since 1978, then LOTR show up and the themes predate on each other and sell too little, get cancelled and here we are The rest of your post I agree with I know Lego test sets with kids, but do they test them with adults? I only know of the disaster that ended up with all of the coming D2C sets leaked and MTS was downgraded from a premium product to a budget model
-
Well known for sure, but how many kids read LOTR or watch the movies compared to HP? I blame LOTR for the downfall of Castle and that Lego have not tried once to release a wave of normal Castle sets in the years since is rather crazy (and not good news for a LOTR play set wave either)

They will come with the "January" parts, when they will show up is unclear at this moment, probably depends on how much backlog they have after the X-mas holiday ect. What minifigur parts that will show up is unclear, but in September they confirmed the space figs, so I assume that is still the case. Hopefully the rest with the knights also will show up. The parts that do not show up in the next part drop probably never will -
Will probably have some nice figs at least
-
I am not the biggest fan of Creator 3-in-1, but it seems that is the bone we get and starting last year we can now exspect useful minifigs there at least
