If we get a green house set and second quidditch based set they should be within your grasp Year 5 I think is unlikely they have in that wave and Knight Bus is is highly likely in year 3 I would say, other that that I think you have some good guesses
-
That is a interesting thought! Maybe the first waves have most HP sets, but the later waves have more FB sets. I saw the designers where complaining that they more or less where working in the dark designing Grindelwald´s Escape - 75951, because the security with new films are so high they barely get any info at all. With HP and when FB films are released they have all the source materiel they can dream off.. The other reason there are few FB sets are most likely because Lego are not sure they will sell well.. Hopefully they do so we can see the shift in a few years from HP to FB, maybe those waves will have some HP sets that where for some reason not in earlier waves like COS I agree! Should be doable, hopefully we see something like that soon If you have read or looked at a designer interview about HP it is pretty clear that first wave focused on year 1-2 (" We based these sets on movies 1 and 2 with a few bits from 3 added for flavour")! So no we have not gotten year 3 yet just a flavour from it, next wave most likely is 3 and 4.. With your logic we can say that the GH set is from every movie that has the great hall in at least one scene etc

I have a few of the older sets, but the minifigs in this series is a huge step up in detail. Now I have them in hand I am even more impressed with them At least we can agree on White Fang reviews and the return of the normal CMF I finally got my box and as usual I feel the packs and identify them before opening them. Series 18 was probably the easiest series so far, this one was really hard, but practice makes perfect
-
At least in Norway the price in cheaper in some stores and there are always campaigns several times a year with up to 40% off in some shops.. Personally I think Rowling has very little to do with it. I wild guess could be that Lego expect them to sell a lot, so they release them to different times in different countries to spit up the first rush of people buying the sets. So they do not end up being sold out everywhere at the same time with no chance of restocking in the near future.. As long as people buy the sets I guess Lego are earning plenty no matter where they sell them

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Roebuck replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
The reason it got a long shelf-life was probably because it was selling so good -
Well modular buildings sell enough and they are just buildings.. Who said anything about them being grey, a set like that would obviously focus on the fantastic diverse interiors and not necessarily the outside of the buildings.. I am not saying they will make 3 more, but that they easily could. At least 5 characters from the first would be in the next series as well etc and do not forget FB, we are missing a minimum of 10 characters from the new movie + the possibility for updated characters we already got.. That is a valid point, but so far it is looking good at least

Time will show how many sets/waves we get.. If Lego want to they can keep the line going for many years: Hogwarts parts set is easily 10 sets if they like They made 40 CMF figs from batman so 100 from HP/FB is no problem Diagon alley could be like winter village with a set of one shop per year for a long time Ministry of magic from each country (FB will most likely visit several more in the future) could be a huge D2C set series So far we have gotten 2 FB sets from 2 movies, we could get plenty more from those two and the 3 next films Etc Several members mention the LOTR as a example with its huge fan base, but how many of those are children in the Lego buying age?! Very few I would guess compared to HP.. I am sure Lego will make a second wave in 2019 (or 2020), after that it depends on the sale how many waves we get.. So better get everyone you know to buy the sets for themselves and/or their kids

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Roebuck replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
The sheep is long overdue! Duck, goose or a updated mould for the foal maybe But to be realistic we could very well get a combine harvester in the great vehicles sub-theme without getting a farm sub-theme.. Most likely a farm theme would show up in summer as well, winter has usually the boring police sets etc -
Not confirmed, but more likely than not
-
Well it is still a bit early, have not heard any rumors in the other themes I am following either, so would not give up hope yet

@Graupensuppe I am with @LegoFjotten on this one, but I agree with you about the Basilisk at least Thanks for all the nice HP reviews the last days @VBBN By the way the link for this review on the front page send me to the WW set

When we get some I am sure they are here before you can say "Accio Ollivander"...

I wonder how quickly the sets will sell out at shop@home, or if they have made plenty this time and manage to withstand the first wave in a few hours time

If we get those 3 time will show, but I am pretty sure the coming years will be great to build your collection

I as always prefer a moulded animal in this case the dragon! They have made quite a few moulded dragons over the years so maybe they can reuse some of the parts to keep the cost down.. If someone think a brick-built ninjago dragon looks better than Smaug, I would recommend they take a trip to the optician It is not right that every animal in WW are brick-built it is only the basilisk, Fawkes, Aragog and erumpent (and "Pickett") and they definitely looks most unrealistic The thunderbird and Occamy are partly brick-built, but have several moulded special pieces and therefore look muck better The moulded animals are luckily in majority; thestral, niffler, Scabbers, Crookshanks, Hedwig, Nagini, Cho's owl, spiders and frogs So moulded is Lego's preferred way of doing WW animals I would say, but they ran out of money for new moulds so they made some brick-built or partly brick-built as well. Next year is is a fresh mould budget so everything could happen, the dragon have a 50-50 chance I would say between moulded and partly brick-built, less likely with a completely brick-built.. Since they did not make a new small mould for Cho's owl (or new cat for Crookshanks), I do not think that is very likely

I think it is a fair chance your wish is granted, time will show The 2010-11 waves sold well I think, but since the movies where finished then, Lego stopped the line also.. The fan base have only increased since then, the original fans have produced a new generation of fans, HP is the most asked for theme not for sale in toyshops around the world and the second hand prices on the old sets are high. Lego would never release a HP lineup like this if they where not sure the sets would sell very well, FB on the other hand are they not sure about at all and they have a much more cautious approach to that line.. If FB sells well also we most likely will see larger waves in that sub-theme in the future

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Roebuck replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
Apparently it is never too early for another police theme, if you expect one every year you won't be disappointed, but might be pleasantly surprised every decade or so I really hope for a new farm theme, 10 years since the one hit wonder theme -
First of all it looks fabulous as a display piece Pros: looks amazing price Nagini is a perfect scale for the basilisk (looking at you small worm in GH) Cons: the nanofigs do not do it for me stickers orama Notting is a day 1 purchase for me, not this either.. I will wait for reviews and a even better deal, but will not be surprised if I end up buying it someday For people just buying the minifigs, be prepared to pay a fortune (unless you are in luck and can buy them from B&P)

Lego City 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
Roebuck replied to TheArturro's topic in LEGO Town
Yes please The police sets are impossible to avoid, but as long as they give us new animals like this year I do not mind -
If the theme keeps on keeping on, we should see the set sooner or later, we are still missing all the figs for the COS scene even Ginny We are also missing 10 figs from FB in this poster, so Lego sure need to gain some speed in releasing sets over the next two years too keep up before the 3 film in 2020

Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them Film Discussion
Roebuck replied to Robert8's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Well hardly see that happening since; "By the beginning of the 1990s, he was retired and living in Dorset with his wife (Tina) and their three pet Kneazles, Hoppy, Milly, and Mauler" And he still is "alive" at least in 2017 Maybe he was talking about members of the order of the phoenix, most ended up dead or worse.. Do not remember if it was said only in the film or the book as well? The film do not matter much and even in the book we know J.K. Rowling was planning years ahead in the writing, but I doubt she was taking FB film events into consideration when she wrote HP -
Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them Film Discussion
Roebuck replied to Robert8's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I assume the girl behind Newt in the boggart scene is Leta Lestrange and she is stiff with fear, so I wonder what she will see (definitely not a desk).. -
Well I guess it was convenient to the movie so they did it.. It is like the FB book, it is only a small thing with a few pages J. K. Rowling wrote on the side for charity, they can not let that limited them on a huge 5 film epos. So they introduce a lot of new beasts in the movies that is not in the original book, then instead update the book as the beast show up.. It is mentioned in the HP books that he used to teach transfiguration, but that do not necessarily mean that he have never teach anything else in his life..
