  1. Yes, it´s working good...... test it yourself. I´ve only used the "old" half bushings because i´ve to many of them. The new bushings are the same. For example, i turn one wheel and the motor shaft turns but the second wheel stops. I´ll do a small video next time to show it. Further i´ve build it in the SAME dimensions as the 9398, so it´s easier to change between some cars or crawlers. And look at the pics, it´s certainly possible to use as an rear axle for 2WD cars. P.S. A differential is only a gear with an inverse function, if you want to have an LSD you have to "brake" the inverse function..........i hope i explained it understandable.
  2. Ah ok, no i have steered. It´s nearly impossible to turn the servo motor if he is under power, prior the gear breaks.
  3. I´ve buyed the electrical stuff i need at the original LEGO shop, i think a good price (new parts). 3x XL motor 35,97€ 3x M motor 26,97€ 2x receiver 33,98€ 3x controller 32,97€ 4x extension cable 20cm 15,96€ 2x extension cable 50cm 9,38€ 2x servo motor 49,98€ Include delivery and 340 VIP points (double points last month) + present 40082 (100points = 5€ discount at the next order) But i think the marketing at LEGO is not really fit in calculation, if i order the parts seperate from the PF tuning set 8293 the price is 31,16€ and the set is 36,99€........ illogical. P.S. I forgot 3 times 8420 bikes, price 33€, 34,01€ and 28,45€
  4. Great, i like it. Where have you hidden the batterie box?
  5. Sorry, i don´t understand what you mean with "bump steer". At the video i´ve tryed to show how strong the servos are and steered the most time right and left.
  6. Hi, @TwentyLeggedHen, yes you are right, i´ve checked my clutch gears and one is broken inside and noisy! And here is my final solution and it´s working great, i´ve tested it today. Now i have to build two new axles, front and rear. Further with the gear of the steering portal axle (92908) the LSD is four up to six times stronger like now. Here is my testpart from today:
  7. Hi, for more pics please see my Bricksafe Page: http://bricksafe.com/pages/Ralf/ The obstacle i have used is 100mm high and i use the standard lego tires, they have not really good grip!!! Here is a small video of the performance but you can see that the shock absorbers are a little to strong and so i have to change the fixing points next time. Further the next days i spend him two limited slip differentials, hard one rear and soft one in front (the tires rub in curves). I hope with the "new" crawler tires (come from south korea...... and i have to wait.... ) the performance should be better. Video: http://www.vidup.de/v/YuW2W/
  8. Hello, now i want to show my new crawler i´ve build the last two days, this time without differentials. At the drivetrain is one XL motor and for the steering two servo motors. I have tryed to build as light as possible (include a lightweight body, looks a little spacy.....) and the most weight should be in the middle of the car. Further i use the small batterie box but with AAA Nimh accus inside (nearly the same power as the rechargeable 8887). The steering angle at the front and rear axle is different, more at the front axle and less at the rear axle. The wheelbase is 20mm longer and the chassis clearence 20mm more (9398). To be fair i must say i have used some ideas of others allready existing crawler, especially the drivetrain (so i´ve not to build the complete transmission new). The crawling power is amazing many times better than my 9398. P.S. Complete weight 1020 gramm! Some pics: Greetings Ralf
  9. Hi, here is my easy, small and good working LSD solution. Today i have tested it and the slip i can change with different rubber bands. Also i have tested two 60c01 clutch 24 tooth gears but there it is not possible to change the slip further the sound (it sounds like "crack") is not really nice. But look yourself:
  10. The Lego company is only interested in turnover and sales. So they create technic sets for the age of 10 - 16 years (it is attested this group of kids have the most pocket money). But maybe i think in the future it is possible to change if more AFOLs build. Offer and inquiry.
  11. Today the bike 8420 arrived and i must say there are many of useful and rare parts! The red bodyparts are very useful for my crawler body, my next project. Black bushings, angle 4 axle connectors, one big shock absorber......... really good parts
  12. Sorry, i have no experience with the crowler tires, i want to test the first set now!
  13. Wow, nice collection! Why don´t you build the 41999, only the box is not really nice. This is the most beautyful car! I wish i have one of them and can build it to show.
  14. The new and sealed sets are in a range of 80-90€ include delivery for example this one: http://www.ebay.de/itm/LEGO-Technik-Abschlepptruck-mit-Power-Funktion-10-16-Jahre-Nr-8109-NEU-in-OVP-/121198674424?pt=DE_Allesf%C3%BCrdKind_Spielzeug_Lego&hash=item1c380101f8 The sets in new condition used are in a range of 65-80€ like this one: http://www.ebay.de/itm/LEGO-Technic-8109-Tieflader-Truck-Abschleppwagen-Power-Functions-m-OBA-/190918363205?pt=DE_Allesf%C3%BCrdKind_Spielzeug_Lego&hash=item2c739f0845
  15. One ask, what is a high price for the flatbed 8109? Here are many of them to buy at a price of 65 up to 90€.
  16. Wow, and in the new promotion it is 10€ more reduced........ Look at page 36-37: http://issuu.com/corafolders/docs/22_10_fz_low_rvb_100?e=1837294/5169128#search
  17. Hi, if you want to buy only one set i would take the 42009 Mobile Crane there are many parts and the building is great (about 9-12h if you are fast)
  18. Yes that´s what i want to do............ a Baja Buggy! For that i need some good shock absorbers with a good look.
  19. I´ve paid 15€ include delivery, and today i´ve buyed one used bike in good condition for 28€ so i have two of them now. My next project is a crawler, my own creation with two servo motors and one or two XL motors to drive. After this i will test with the shock absorbers........... I wish me a Baja Buggy like this: http://dt-c-rallye-r...rtseite//12.jpg P.S. This is what i do beside my Lego obsession........... i restore and collect RC cars of the 80´s: http://bricksafe.com/files/Ralf/4D%20+%20Integra.jpg http://bricksafe.com/files/Ralf/Fairlady%20+%20SG%20F1.jpg
  20. Hi, i wish it would be mine creation ........ but no the excavator is from Jurgen Kroshoop. If you are interested please look here: http://jurgenstechniccorner.com/zorex.html
  21. @skriblez, yes, i like the MOCs because there is many technic inside more than in a standard Lego set. Look at the Caterham super seven.......... i love this car
  22. I hope your solution find a way to the market as an original part! I like this function of flashing lights and my solution is only a simple function with a fixed flash frequenz of 1,5 Hz. The controller for the flash frequenz is inside the 3mm LEDs that is ok for my applications so i need only some resistors. How ever it´s much more better to use finished parts like yours! I´ll support your product devinitively. Greetings Ralf
  23. Hi, here some pics of my small collection but it is growing steadily. Also the 9398 but i have to build it new because my daughter want to rebuild it or further she "tryed" it to change to B-model but with four years..........
  24. Hi altogether, today arrived the shock, verf fast delivery, Austria -> Germany 2 days i was really surprised. The shock is really good you have four settings to use it. 1. long - soft spring 2. long - hard spring 3. short - soft spring 4. short - hard spring (but this setting is really to hard!) I think this shock is a good choice for all kind off buggys or off road cars i´ll see. Here some pics from the settings: http://bricksafe.com/files/Ralf/shock%201.JPG/800x1067.jpg http://bricksafe.com/files/Ralf/shock%202.JPG/800x1067.jpg http://bricksafe.com/files/Ralf/shock%203.JPG/800x1067.jpg http://bricksafe.com/files/Ralf/shock%204.JPG/800x1067.jpg
