  1. About the new parts that eventually appear in the new sets i did manage to save some of the text from Technicbricks before it was removed from the side. The Dog Bone beam (LBG) is a new type of beam/frame. A 3x5 beam with a form similar to a dog bone. Somehow resembling the recent Technic frames like the 5x11 (64178). Long axle pin with friction ridges (in DBG). It is a 3L pin similar to 43093, but with double length on the pin side (2+1L). A very useful element IMO, which I've been missing occasionally when building with Technic. A new type of worm gear with 3L overall (DBG for the pre-production seen in one model, LBG as seen in the catalog). It has axle bush connectors at each side, hence it does not have the sliding function from the traditional 2L worm gear (4716) anymore. The worm gear itself is quite shorter than the former one and it is placed in the center module. Given the differences between them, I think it is unlikely that the new element came to replace the previous one. New steering elements for small scale models Steering arm with rounded towball socket (LBG), similar to 57515 but in a single beam form factor. I mean 1L wide, hence no fork shape like in previous steering arm elements. New type of connector that works with the new steering arms above (Black colored). A small element not easy to describe as I don't remember all the exact details, but it has a 3L shape with one pin-hole in the center. Steering gear (Black if I remember right), similar to 32186, but where the 3 ball joints connect directly to the center pin-hole, instead of two and one third with 1L displacement. All in all, the new steering elements will allow to easily add steering functions, into even smaller classes of LEGO Technic vehicles. A new type of Tire for the 56145 wheels (30,4mm x 20mm), with higher profile and a tread similar to that on 32019 or the much larger 92912 Unimog tires. The same approximate proportions and appearance in a smaller tire. Didn't remember to memorize the tire dimensions, usually embossed at the side of some LEGO tires like these. In fact you may eventually recall that Niels told us once, we were going to see new tires in 2013 and 2014 [1] ... And finally new 3 x 11 Technic panels (White). The same we have seen images some years ago, used into an early prototype of the 8110 Mercedes-Benz Unimog U400 [2].
  2. What a cool machine, i like when you drive it in to the water. But poor technic guy.
  3. About the steering parts. its about 10 parts only. not much more than that. the tractor alone will be about 100 to 120 parts included pins when finished. That whats i'am hoping for.
  4. It's time for the second model. A small tractor that will pull a trailer. In the background you can se my new smaller an improved forage harvester.
  5. Have just visited techlug. somebody have made some links to the new 2014 1H sets. They look okay for some of the smaller sets and have downloaded the pics on my computer...
  6. all right. thanks Jim, i think that i can scale my model down a bit more. But it might loose some functions. I will see what i can come up with.
  7. After have seen the other entrys in this contest, i have been concerned about my harvester is going to be to big ??? I know that they have to be from medium to small scale models. But how small is medium scale ? Because i don't think i have the necessary tires to build such small models .
  8. Here is a updated version, much shorter. But still worried about the size If i have to make it even smaller it will lose some of its functions.. But judge for yourself.
  9. I think it has about 250-300 parts now, still missing the cab and ladder + the cutter head. Have shorten it some more, but not to much. more pictures will follow.
  10. Well ! i'm not entirely sure about the exact numbers of the cutter head yet. i have a look then.
  11. Thanks D3K ! I know i am getting there fast about the parts count, but have considered to shorten it by 5 to 7 studs. Because the cutterhead will use 20-30 parts alone + the cab to.
  12. Some more progress of my forage harvester. But i got a little doubt about the size of it, i know that it has to be medium or small scaled. So i hope not it's to big for the contest ???? So if Jim can clear some things up about the sizes i would be glad ..
  13. DrJB are we talking about New Holland ??? or another make. Sorry but this time it's blue, because i have a lot of BLUE parts.
  14. This is going to be my contribution to this great contest. A forage harvester. Later on i will build a trailer and something to pull it. Sorry for bad photo, but it's night here were i live and got only a small lamp at my building table.
  15. Ohh ! I must have overlooked that . Time to read all the threads then.
  16. What about chain links ? Do they need to be counted as well ???? My one model uses some chain links .
  17. After reading this thread, i might participate in this contest. Thats why i asked those questions about to build a track cab. I have got a special truck under ways, but not entirely sure that i have got the first truck under the parts limit per unit (forgot to count during build ) but i think i am close to it.
  18. Thanks alot everybody ! I will see what i can come up with.
  19. alright. Will try that Jim, thanks.
  20. Seeking some advice on how to build a truck cab. I have always tried to build one, but always failed. I can't somehow get them right, they always seems to get to bulky or look wrong. So it would be great if you guys can show me some simple designs and how to get at least one made.
  21. This idea is from Rune Kokholm who is a member on the Danish LUG Byggepladen.dk Keep voting for it on Cuusoo. I have.
