  1. I'm not saying bend it in half, all you need to do is introduce enough minor flex to break the seal. If that's enough to break a baseplate then Lego is suffering from some serious quality control issues.
  2. The time required depends on how OCD your sorting method is. My general system Slopes Bricks Plates Wings Technic Then you can get more specific, like 1x1s, 1x2/3s, Plates. Tiles, Kinds of slopes, kinds of arches. Bigger pieces, pins and connectors, studded technic beams, smooth studless beams. Then, depending on how you build you can separate greys from colors of certain parts. So greay, black and white bricks, old-school bright color bricks, newer muted color bricks like POP sets.
  3. Its alright if you like that kind of thing. :D You should trade them for some arena advertising.
  4. I bend the base plate slightly which breaks the brick's grip enough to easily pop off.
  5. You should spend some time reading the instructions for official sets as Lego has used magnets on their UCS models before. I think that's one reason he used them on the Executor, to mimic official building techniques.
  6. Nah, they would have been like the tiny invading fleet in Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. :D
  7. Unless it bumps into 10130. :D
  8. I'm doing it as a MOC and I can't find any good images of the roof. Do any of you UKers have a photo(s)?
  9. Photos are your easiest route. Take a photo of the bricks needed for each step and then a photo of your MOC with those bricks added. Put them together in a photo layout program.
  10. That's great. My first real MOC after my dark ages was a midi-gunship. You should try make some if that stan out of transparent bricks as you kind of loose the shape of the ship with all that black. Regardless, thumbs up all the way.
  11. Same here, perhaps the OP is in the process of replacing them with better pics. I think the price is fine and you could buy a couple to mod into a more complete fleet like a Venetor and Acclamator.
  12. On a model like this, the lack of an opening cockpit bothers me far less than the lack of landing gear because its not like I'm going to put anything in the cockpit. Had this set been priced reasonably, I doubt we'd be nitpicking quite as much as that extra $20 would cover the bricks needed to solve those issues.
  13. Assuming your beach is the ocean, you might want to turn the wind generator so its catching the wind coming off the ocean.
  14. This is a neat MOC and great idea. While I have never liked the gaps you get around those two small windows on the front side, one of the MMV buildings suffer from it as well, there isn't a lot you can do about it without increasing its size. I do think the forest floor should be a combination of green and brown bricks.
  15. This isn't a bump for me, but if you hunt down my thread for Nizam's Persian Restaurant MOC it has other usage examples of the POP elements. There was also a big POP MOC contest a little while ago which shows other parts usage, albeit heavier on the POP feel.
  16. The modular buildings are excellent parts packs.
  17. Except we don't know how far away from the DS that shot was taken. While Wookiepedia should have the dimensions of all these things, the UCS DS's star destroyer is good to base scale from.
  18. It looks great. I think I'll use those clear panels on my Nizam's Persian Restaurant so you can see the interiors without removing the roof.
  19. Two POP modulars at the same time, what are the odds of that. LOL.
  20. Whatever you do, don't get rid of your existing collection, in 10-20 years when you get back into legos, and you will get back into legos, you will really be happy that you kept everything. If you are worried about how your Legos look to girls...well no one can teach you to think for yourself. Look...having some legos out won't stop you from getting laid, if she's in your room its pretty much a done deal, but do you really want to date someone who wouldn't want you to be happy. You can just keep them in a tub(s) and bring them out when you want to play. You really need to get over that...its going to happen so just deal with it.
  21. Why do you care if its considered cheating? Its part of the structure you will never see and akin to worrying that you are using different color bricks on a part of the wall no one can see or using illegal connections like a combination of round bricks and 1x2s to get a curved wall. Relax and build it however you want.
  22. Looks great, but why is that third yellow chair facing the stairs? Is that where Harry sits? I especially like your facade work at the top. Are you going to realize this with bricks?
  23. And now for the backstory... In the ill-conceived comic sequel to Sands of Time, Nizam opens a restaurant. Life gets zany when Nizam and Tamina hire a young bartender named Dastan. Nizam's partner Amar recently paid for some much needed upgrades, like street signage.
  24. I would raise the base by one plate, that way you can have the tiles disappear under the curved wall.
