  1. People really need to take a step back and get some perspective in their lives.
  2. 4 Points 10. French Navy Xebec or 16. Telesell Mods, both Xebecs are spectacular and I'm not sure which I prefer. Bearing that in mind, please give my four points to which ever Xebec was built first. In this case originality trumps which ever refined details the later may have. 2 Points 2. RTS Zavala I chose those two because it seems like everything else was just the same thing. Its nice to see builders do something contrary to the crowd. And yes, I know this is the pirates forum. 1 Point 9. Nuestra Senora de la Concepcion This gets an honorary point not only because its spectacular, but mainly because it has its own source of bacon.
  3. Its quite excellent and I have only one criticism. It feels like there is too much brown. I feel that you should have used colors other then brown on the interior so it doesn't all blend together.
  4. While it does look good you need to rework the wing connection. Those bare grey technic beams look bad, but just changing the colors isn't going to make it any better. The shape of the fuselage isn't accurate either, it need to be more trapezoidal. Making an all-white one really isn't a solution to a brick-built version because the color would be all wrong; however covering the wings with a single layer of plates would not only allow you to be color accurate, but would also allow you to fix the gap between the wings and the fuselage.
  5. And I like my Midi LAAT/c and LAAT/i better than the official mini ones, but that's easy to do with a larger scale. And while I like the new Brickmaster Slave 1, Eichorn's (sp?) midi one is nicer.
  6. Yeah, but how cool would it be to stumble across a box of 15yo sets you forgot you stored and then get to play with them now.
  7. While most people like displaying and/or playing with their built sets it would be cool to figure out a creative way to display MISBs. In a similar vein I have two rows of framed albums on the staircase wall in my house. Some kind of framing system, even one made from Legos, would be a very cool way to enjoy your MISBs without opening them.
  8. Suit: We have top people working on this. Indy: Who? Suit: Top people.
  9. Its a good design, but I doubt it would work in real bricks as the top horizontal arm would sag from the weight. Perhaps some flex tube curved from the vertical to the horizontal would have the necessary bracing. cheers
  10. Its fine to differentiate your building but that's not really the point of the contest and could hurt your chances to win with what is otherwise an excellent MOC (and one of my favs btw). If I were you I'd make the time to revise the roof. Its not like its a complex technique ya know.
  11. I'm not heavily into this theme but I have to say the new Burrows and upcoming Daigon Alley are my favs.
  12. There are some excellent techniques at work here, but the most obvious issue to me is the roof. To fit with the rest of the theme, which is the point of the contest, you need to use the same angled plate construction as the rest of the sets. Otherwise its not going to blend with the other winter buildings.
  13. While cool and all that still doesn't make up for "The E.N.D.".
  14. 1. Calculate to price to replace bricks used. 2. Make a virtual model so you can recreate it with new bricks 3. Add whichever markup you want 4. Make a profit without loosing anything.
  15. The subsections that you are assembling, like the dorsal wing, are so large that one step takes up an entire page to display.
  16. I'm still fascinated by how the model balances securely on just two feet. One question though; the white "hull" pieces attached to the landing gear tend to pop off easily due to a little bending and flexing on the bottom. Is anyone else having this issue?
  17. A actually think its a very good looking set; its just the original price was too high (which has been discussed and argued in detail). TBH I think the new Imperial Shuttle is a far plainer looking set.
  18. Do your research on Brickset.com before hitting Amazon. Most of the sellers have unrealistic prices on their sets,
  19. Mine was from eBay. Although Lego has it on sale for 75 USD.
  20. What about putting it on its side?
  21. When I was a kid I sometimes chose one super-cool present over several smaller ones. Your kid might as well.
  22. I just finished building this set; I landed it for 80USD shipped which was a far more palatable price. While its not a very long build I found it to be very satisfying and lots of fun to swoosh. It looks great on the shelf, its pretty large, so I highly recommend this set if you can find it at a discount. The designer used a log of nice colors, it was gratifying to see that instead of light-bley 1x round plates he used the metallic ones.
  23. The internet contains photos and information on this set. More photos and information will be available by the time this set is released. Or...internet. :D
  24. I really don't see any resemblance. The bumpers are completely different, and as far as the use of wedge plates, well you might as well have said that both cars are grey.
