  1. The closest you can get to scale is a 1x1 plate.
  2. Looks good. I really like the shape of that ship.
  3. The overhang gives it a Tim Burtonish feel. I think you need to emphasize that.
  4. Well minifigs are yellow. lol.
  5. Quick update, I changed the second floor tiles to tan, turns out I had enough...who knew. I kept the now tan plates and used 2 2x1 tiles instead of 1 1x4 tile. Having the line separating the two tiles makes it work visually. I know that the backs are usually sealed up, and I do like my bricked arches but I'm thinking about opening up the back like the new family home set because this would allow you to see the interior without having to lift the higher floors or roofs off. What do you modular builders think about doing something like this? One of my fav joints is the Imperial Fez. as they have bellydancers, Princess Leia here I come. The ends give it a tassled appearance so they work well.
  6. We got the Winter Toy Shop last year so we'll most likely get this one. Maybe he's not into threesomes. :D I'm getting this set, and I'll probably winterize MMV for a big ol diorama.
  7. Is it the mix, or do you feel the contrast between the white and dark red is too great regardless of the plates or tiles used?
  8. Thanks and not yet. I don't think I've seen them used that way before. The trans-clears underneath the awning are lights for the table.
  9. I took advantage of B&N's 40% off coupon to pick up Battle of Almut. Then I had to figure out what to make with all those great POP colors. Not only is it my first town MOC, but my first attempt at a modular building, my Bridge & Watchtower not withstanding. I was going to wait until the interior is finished to post it, but I'm anxious to show you guys it. Any suggestions are always welcomed. Cheers
  10. MegaBlocs cost less than Legos as well. ----- Instruction viewing aside, I'd like an iPad version of LDD.
  11. Its a combination of mostly tiles and a few studs to keep the above floors from sliding around.
  12. a bridge...and some ducks.
  13. Looks great. My suggestion would be to give the chimneys some details as they just look like 2x4 black bricks.
  14. They look great together, but I have to say that I much prefer the one on the left. Something about the colors or shapes isn't quite working around the dark gray wheel arches you have over the windows. On the French house you should expand the entrance tiles out one brick towards the street and give the front door a step so it sticks out from the door. You should also think about some kind of awning support like 6754.
  15. Added. LXF in my Brickshelf folder when public.
  16. I would have voted for Slave 1, but I'm disappointed its not UCS. So for me its a tie between UCS Shuttle and Jedi Starfighter. The former cause its big and awesome and the latter because its a cool model.
  17. New pics with the now shortened nose.
  18. I really like sets 30050 & 30051 so I modified 6967 to blend in with the recent minis.
  19. Thanks.
  20. If you place no value in MOCs that don't have figs then you won't be excited by this set; however, if you like models then you'll dig it.
  21. I really like the small Creator sets like 5867, 5866, and 6743, but not always for the main models.
  22. I never thought they were leaked, and there can be a myriad reasons why TLG would request they be pulled; however, acting like this is somehow jacking AFOLs really shows an unflattering sense of entitlement. We've seen the initial images and we'll get to see the final ones in a little. On the plus side, despite the price being very dear I get really excited about boxes that contain over 4000 pieces.
  23. The tower has such nice details that the smaller building looks flat by comparison. The roof should be more than just flat plates and the walls need to have a little depth to them. Looks great otherwise.
  24. This is such an excellent display sets, and it is terrific to build.
