  1. Modular Bridge & Watchtower. Class: LDD + Real Bricks Approximately 1800 bricks. The idea is that this is the first section of a modular bridge that could have any manner of buildings or structures on top. As with all good modular buildings its connected by pins. The house is hinged, the roof is removable, and the top section is removable from the bottom. The house's color scheme, which I didn't realize until I finished, is kind of Apple Tree Houseish. Point of interest, the guard by the door and the sword and shield inside the house are from 375, my very first castle set. My LDD file differs from the final model because in keeping with the spirit of the contest, I designed it initially in LDD and changed details as it was built. It was originally gong to be a bunkhouse so there was a bed inside. The colors in my LXF are off from the original, mainly because I used LDD to flesh it out and I knew I'd finalize the colors when I built it. Flickr Gallery
  2. Assuming you like all of them, buy them in this order. Due to GG being the oldest it will be the first out of production. 1. Green Grocer 2. Fire Brigade 3. Grand Emporium.
  3. Hit them with a can of compressed air.
  4. I don't have screen shots but I would think use a turntable, 4x4 plate and the second level of bricks. Rotate the turntable however much you need to and then just move the bricks on top of the first level.
  5. 7141 vs 7660 7180 vs 6208 7134 vs 6207 Most obviously 7144 vs 8097 Sure the newer one is a little larger, but can't imagine a larger 7144 being truer to the ship's design regardless of whether you think the colors are right or not. The newer models have more complex shapes which are truer to the vehicle design.
  6. This is superb, but do we really have to say its better than TLG's? I mean, that really goes without saying because considering the piece count and huge number of minifigs, there is no way they could bring it in for a price that would sell well.
  7. I wonder if TLG has plans to release LDD for the iPad.
  8. Is it ok for the real brick model to be different from the LDD model? I developed mine initially in LDD but as always the build out always changes. So while they are the same MOC, the final execution has changed. I'm assuming its ok as the contest is also supposed to show how LDD can be used to develop your ideas. Cheers
  9. Sheesh, excuse us for being excited about a set.
  10. I'm just happy that the various guys who built UCS AT-TEs haven't created a bitchfest like this.
  11. What's even worse is that they both ripped off the shuttle from the movies.
  12. Looks great, but the real barge feels very steampunk to me.
  13. Because I don't have to have a bunch of figs or interesting pieces to enjoy a set. The Falcon reminded me of a cool MOC. Its also very.swooshable
  14. I agree because when you get right down to it, we're all borrowing techniques from TLG.
  15. Big Piece of Plastic. I would LOOOOOVVVVEEEE a UCS Slave 1.
  16. I thought the Midi Falcon was awesome.
  17. I'm not buying if it is.
  18. I quite like the one without the engine part. What about four 1x1 rounds on top to represent velocity stacks?
  19. Come to America, we'll turn just about anything into a stretch Limo.
  20. I have to order mine. The ones I like come in a blue tin. When I get home I'll post the brand. PS. Lets not forget about Cafe Noir cookies by Verkade
  21. Try removing the front mudguards and exposing the front wheels.
  22. I feel that there is plenty of fantasy and magic in the new sets. You have reapers, skeletons, wizards, goblins, etc. But is a well rounded theme as there are plenty of historical aspects to it.
  23. Maybe they're saving all those awesome ideas for a later time. May we do a spin on a movie scene, not something that is explicitly depicted in the movies?
  24. The Yavin base was built in the ruins of an old Sith stronghold. I'm not saying there would still be a body, it would just be a humorous detail.
  25. Considering what the Yavin base used to be, it would have been funny if you had added a sub level with an entombed Sith fig.
