  1. I still have to go with 375. From a technical standpoint it was, and still is, the only truly Lego castle because everything was brick-built. There are no big wall plates and even the horses are brick-built. From an emotional angle, it was the first set I remember MOCing from. There was some manner of model or diorama contest and I used the parts from 375 for my entry. While I didn't win, well maybe I got some BS paper certificate, but mine was way cooler than the kid who just stuck a bunch of GI-Joes on AstroTurf and called it a diorama.
  2. Don't be a drama queen. Removing a photo is hardly jacking around, especially when the photo is low res and doesn't show much in the way of details.
  3. Just wait until your parents are old and they want you to take care of them...tell them to confess or you'll stick em in a home. LOL. I think I lucked out because I jammed many of my old things in a locked foot locker. They were out of sight and out of mind.
  4. A building with an afro. LOL
  5. Or Georgia in the Soloman Islands. He said Woodstock which means USA. I'm down in midtown Atlanta. Mostly Star Wars, but I like Technic and other interesting sets.
  6. This is a great idea and would be a great way to build out the interior of Grand Emporium as well as your great building.
  7. Don't sell yourself short those are quite nice. On the corner store I would... - On the gyro shop, some raised tiles on the building corners would look great, maybe in tan. Look at the current creator houses for techniques. - Keep the second floor windows all white to match the dark grey arch over them. - An animal fig perched on the dark red jumper would be a great detail. - Raise the yellow 1x4 tile on the first floor with a 1x4 grey plate under it. - Try to keep the same inset with yellow 1x4 on the window next to the garage entrance. - Keep the backing depth the same with all minifigs. - Inset the dormer windows half a stud with jumpers. - Look at how the red curtains were done on Green Grocer (brickset.com has instructions) and add some depth behind the first floor figs by doing a curtain between the figs and the white backing. - A couple of light grey tiles scattered randomly on the sidewalk would be a great detail. ----- If you thought about these things but were missing the pieces you can inexpensively buy the pieces you need from bricklink.com. I find that I do a lot of MOC refining after I have completed what I think is my final build. Just keep at it as these have the potential to be super nice. These don't have to be CC standard, they feel more like the Creator house standard, but come up with your own standard and keep at it.
  8. For me it was a toss up between "Order 66 over Cato Neimodia by J4ke" and " That wasn’t a laser blast. Something hit us. by marshal banana". Both have extremely cool ships, the ARCs and the Falcon, but I have to go with "Order 66" because the composition is more dynamic and interesting. It was neck and neck, so good job to the both of you.
  9. lisqr - Dante's guns - 1 Point L-DI-EGO - X-WING STARFIGHTER - 1 Point Captain Blockbeard - Golden Gander SteamPunk Airship - 1 Point
  10. LegoDejc - Crane Truck - 1 Point Its an impressive LDD build Silcantar - 1932 Ford Model B Roadster - 1 Point It reminds me of the Expert Builder sets I grew up with. private_lego - Winny Pooh - 1 Point Just look at it.
  11. I don't think the wagon is out of place. Its 2010 and there are plenty of horse drawn carriages/wagons around. If you can't get around that maybe a lego supermarket is more suited to your sensibilities. :D
  12. Might I recommend 10174. Its extremely cool, and you can still get it inexpensively.
  13. I don't think so as the new UCS shuttle has a realistic price/parts ratio. After comparing the two models, I do feel the differences are great enough that TLG didn't ape his MOC. Without making the new one significantly larger, there are only so many ways to vary the design. While I like the proportions on CG's MOC more, TLG's model has some great details. Ignoring price, I think its def worth buying. Hopefully someone from TLG is reading this and they decide to lower the price.
  14. Weird. I never pictured Cavegod looking like that. I think it would have been cool for Lego to include a similarly sized R2 dome so we could MOC some big OT ships.
  15. is livin' la vida Lego

  16. It's price also reflected the lower piece count.
  17. I'm lucky in that I stored most of my sets away in the boxes which I held onto; thank god for beat up footlockers full of junk. At that point it was mostly Technic/Expert Builder, Idea Books and some Castle figs from 375, 383, and 677. My old Space and Town sets were grouped together with my older brother's bricks and you know how that kind of thing ends. He has twins now so it doesn't bother me as they will be played with. When I started playing again this is what I had...
  18. There are two in 7676 Republic Gunship, and 7754 Home One has a few.
  19. I'd love to see you do a similar ATTE that hooks up.
  20. the top sides of the neck have a very hard edge. some 1x1 slope pieces, for example, would change the 90deg angle and make it more organic. Artizan and I did midi LAATs and used curved slopes on the neck. I have a LAAT/c as well. Click on my flickr gallery to see an example.
  21. That looks great but the neck should have some curves its sides. I think the LAATs are the most commonly MOCed clone wars ships.
  22. Just added my entry to the Historic Theme thread. Cheers
  23. I think it looks quite good and some color variation is nice. Starships are seldom one color. To make the difference less severe, perhaps regular grey and bley.
  24. The grey SNOT work on the actual elephant is amazing.
