  1. Must be an ex-parrot.
  2. I got the last of the pieces I needed so here is my third-floor mod; I also added a row of plates under the tiling at the top. You can also see that I increased the height of DO's third floor by a row of bricks to the bottom of the blue half and the top of the brown half.
  3. Lego could do a relatively inexpensive skyscraper, but it wouldn't have all the cool details you see in modular sets. The ground floor could but not the bulk of the building.
  4. I saw it at Brickfair Alabama, stunning.
  5. You can use the primary colors for the side walls which you never see from the outside.
  6. This is really great.
  7. I like the new houses
  8. To be honest, your buildings don't look finished. They need to be taller and have something like a roof.
  9. Best way to approach this is to figure out what 31065 has that you like a lot. Nothing wrong with duplicating details and then when you are happy with your buildings you can change those details.
  10. BrickLink will be your safest bet then.
  11. Selling the set does not necessarily mean selling at an inflated price.
  12. You can still find them on eBay for regular price. Especially if, like me, you don't really care about the boxes or if it has previously been assembled. I just bought my third of that set and will sell the two pet shops as I was most interested in having a row of townhousees.
  13. 7738, 60125, and 4439 are cool as well.
  14. Neither of them really appeals to me because of the large fuselage pieces. Have you considered 4473, 7741, or 60046? I even like the dinky 10720.
  15. Buy two of the Creator houses, like Corner Deli, to have them look similar in size to the Modulars. Consider not building the sides which aren't visible in order to maximize bricks.
  16. He's pushing Darth Baby.
  17. Sure, you could also do that by just making AS on two 32x32 baseplates and increase the space between the two sides.
  18. I'm extending mine up using an extra set of windows on the third floor section instead of the second. This makes it as tall as the Detective Office's blue building.
  19. Since they are still affordable, consider buying several Pet Shop?TownHouse so you can make a block of townhouses. Four would look great and you could change some of the details so they look like different families live there. Shouldn't be too hard to sell just the Pet Shop.
  20. Sure, but the market for a $1000 set is probably a lot smaller than a $250 set.
  21. Love it. Seems like there should be a little snow on the blue building's ivy.
  22. Don't display everything. When you build a new set/MOC replace an older one. It will keep your display looking fresh.
  23. If you can get the Fire Brigade for close to the price of the GB set, it would be foolish not to. You could then sell it and buy two GB sets. You can also build the GB set smaller so it fits with the rest of the modulars.
  24. It's always wise to buy the oldest sets first so in this case Parisian Restaurant (or Palace Cinema if you really like it). Not sure what your budget is, but check eBay and maybe pick up Town Hall if you can find a deal; personally I wouldn't have a problem with buying one which was previously assembled because I don't really care about the boxes.
  25. Very nice building and nice user photo.
