Wow. That actually was a pretty good episode. Ekimu's voice is no longer annoying, he really does sound like an old man (though he doesn't act like one ) and there was at least a bit of explanation about stuff that was going on. Still wondering about the "they call him Skull Grinder" and when we're going to see the Toa ask Ekimu about their memories of him (please LEGO, don't make it an entire year away)

I completely forgot that that was a thing. CM4Sci, is Onua also using the Star Wars torso? edit: nvm, already been reported. Well, so much for Onua being a walking six pack I don't suppose the "feathery" attachments coming out the back of the Toa's masks could be a new eyestalk designed to "catch" the light better? Assuming they're transparent, that is.

I suppose I could have worded that better. I'm fearing that the Star Wars torso is going to become commonplace in the future. I've got five sets from three different years that heavily used the Inika build, and four of those actually used it. It's such a large piece that puts even more limitations on how much stuff can be put into a set and still look good. Think about the amount of armor coverage/weapon builds the Star Wars sets had. If that torso has become the standard in the new Toa, without adjusted price points (or entirely new limbs) I can't see any way to have the gearbox match the price point. You do raise a fair point, though.

These sound amazing. Also, someone other than Kai, Lloyd or Zane on the box!? THANK YOU LEGO! And *only* seven sets. Good, good, that means I can get Fallout 4 and XCOM 2 and still be able to buy most or all of these.
-
Wait, what? No gearboxes!? If this is true, it's because of the Star Wars torso becoming commonplace. I swear, if the Star Wars build becomes the new Inika build I'm never touching constraction again.

Hence why I said visually active. The Mangai is recognizably a volcano from a bird's eye view, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone ever mistook it for a crater. Pretty fair points. Always bothers me when they make an awesome location or concept and then just leave its potential untapped. Karda Nui's Av-Matoran stalactite villages and arguably Okoto (so far) have or had so much potential that just hasn't been used.

Eh... I'm getting mixed vibes from the descriptions. And not over any dispute I have with their legitimacy (you DID say you wanted to fake leaks the other day, Twistlaw , but just what they sound like. Star Wars torso on all of them sounds eh, reuse of the Skull armor on good guys sounds eh, and the masks sound stupid (ESPECIALLY Kopaka's). An abundance of trans-blends sounds awesome, but on the contrary I hope they're not going to kill MOCing with them like the Protector's masks do. I don't understand why LEGO's designers think slapping copious and arbitrary amounts of gold and trans pieces somehow magically makes a set look better, the humble color schemes of the Toa Mata are a testament to this. Gold and transparent pieces should be reserved for stuff that's meant to look important (eg, Ekimu's armor, MoCr and MoCo, the golden masks, etc). Creatures sound cool, though I'm a bit sad to hear that they probably won't have unique functions as hard as that would be to implement. Still, these are probably prelims so I'm not worried about most of this.

2006 was when multi-biome settings were replaced with one-note locales? Because I'm pretty sure Voya Nui clearly featured ice, desert, jungle/forest and a visibly active volcano. You couldn't even see that the Mangai was active in most, if not all, imagery of Mata Nui from above.

Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitsu TV Show Thread
Mandate replied to Lance's topic in LEGO Media and Gaming
Had to give it a Like within the first 30 seconds. Seeing Mark Oliver's face while performing the "Garmadon laugh" and the rest of them while performing... more entertaining than quite a few episodes of NINJAGO- 4,591 replies

I can see where you're coming from, but it's all down to personal preference. Over the years I've seen plenty of people complain about the voice of Lloyd in NINJAGO, even though I have no problem with it. In games such as the Borderlands series, I had no problem with a robot named Claptrap yet absolutely hated another robot named Gortys simply because of how annoying I found her, and for quite a few people it was the opposite way around. The problem I have with Ekimu's voice isn't just his voice, but also what he says. His final line in the episode was perfectly fine, but the two before it were nothing but spouting lore and exposition we've already heard. Ekimu's voice is too high-pitched to sound like the guy that made powerful masks and fought Makuta. I don't think you've realized that it's not just a matter of people disliking voices in cartoons and nothing else. People dislike other people's voices in real life, too. I can't speak for all of humanity, but there are plenty of people I know whose voices I just don't like. As for the reasons behind disliking voices being petty, do you even need a reason to dislike someone's voice? It's a matter of personal preference, really. Sometimes people have a length of reasons for why they support people like Greenpeace and sometimes they can't offer an explanation for why they dislike the color red. If you actually hate the person for something out of their control (unless of course they're changing their voice just to annoy you) then that is petty. But when something can be controlled, such as the voices used in a movie, cartoon or video game there's a lot less of a reason to be "understanding" about it when there was the ability to change it.

Please use spoiler tags when discussing new episodes. You can do this by using [ spoiler ] and [ /spoiler] (without spaces). For example edit: Anyway, now that I've seen the episode Any news about the web version of MoCR getting an update?

Probably not. Quite a fair bit of stuff in the sets didn't make any kind of appearance this season, which is a real shame because there was plenty of awesome stuff. I'm not sure if even the Morro Dragon made much of an appearance, it just seemed to disappear after Morro learned Airjitzu.- 4,591 replies

The best and worst designed 2015 Bionicle Skull Villains
Mandate replied to YellowCorvette's topic in LEGO Action Figures
Good Guy was a polybag, he doesn't count. Even if he does, you can pose him or use him as a Halloween prop which is more than what you can do with Scorpio. -
Vader has looked far too bulky and angular to me since I first saw him, and I don't know why so many people like him. Still struggling to understand why they went with gunmetal for his upper armor when it's actually silver.

Technically they all do share the same face. Even the villains.

inb4 it's a collectable jetpack Ekimo deleted from their hard drives because makuter I hope it hasn't been cancelled. It makes perfect sense to reintroduce mask packs next year, what with the theme seemingly being an actual hunt for masks rather than being led along like donkeys by the Protectors.

I'll check the game in a sec. Episode 14 "Beware their tails!" is live and accessible from the front page. Edit: It's a decent episode. Nothing particularly special about it, though No new content for the app game. Though that could be just the LEGO.com version, not the app itself.

Yet they forgot to put Soul Archer in the list. Edit: I had not noticed before how lazy the design team was with the ghosts. Really LEGO, 3 sets of outright clone figures?

Is that why Chima's show debuted so late in 2013? Because if it isn't, I'm having a very hard time believing NINJAGO's return affected Chima's launch budget when NINJAGO returned in 2014, an entire year after Chima's debut.

The lack of a BIONICLE mention is very... interesting. I had expected BIONICLE to be a smash hit, but if it had been it surely would have been mentioned. Still, best to wait for direct confirmation about G2 in particular before assuming anything.

Grievous isn't as big as I expected, but he's still huge. He's going to be my #1 priority once I see him in stores around here. Love the armor coverage, I was a bit worried about him being too skeletal but I think it fits Grevious very well. Can't wait to get him.

Hope that's not a canon representation of the Toa (meaning, what's been depicted here could theoretically have happened). Onua was flying just seconds ago, Lewa's flying, Pohatu is flying, Gali is wall-running, Tahu is Batman and Kopaka is still too slow.
