They could end up being neither. They might not even be aligned with the toa, like, they will stop anyone who attempts to get the masks, toa OR skull spider. On a side note what do you reckon the chances of us getting Kaita are? I would love to see combiners tied into the story again.

I sssooo want it to be tan. Vorox made me want to moc tan things, and we haven't had much to work with since then (other than the thornatus, but that was mostly technic beams).

That would be difficult to do with the Mata as the main characters. It would become pretty clear whether the past events hat involved them happened or not. However, the stars taught us that Lego are perfectly willing to revert the Nuva to Mata if It means capitalising on nostalgia, so there's no telling what else they'll be willing to change.

While I think it's too early to say that the star wars reboot will be bad, Bfahome, I agree about the other 2 franchises. Regarding Bionicle though I would like a continuation simply so we don't re-tread the same character development. The toa Mata had to learn to work as a team, I don't want to see them learn the same thing again. I would also prefer if Jaller and co. were still Toa, rather than stuck as Matoran, or just non-existant.

I don't see people's problem with a continuation in any way. It wouldn't have to make the story convoluted. Just take the old story , and replace the name "Mata-Nui", with "Spherus Magna". Just Have a great being instead of Makuta. Only a vague background would be needed. You don't need to have encyclopaedic knowledge of Bionicle lore to grasp "the great beings created these guys, and now they're trying to destroy them".

I love the propellers on the back of the water defender makes it look like an old timey diver. I initially thought Onua's eye were dark green, but they look more purple now that people mention it. I miss the days of varied eye colour too. My mocs that use metru heads are severely lacking in variation as a result of me not getting properly into Bionicle until 2006.

I always cringe when I see old movies republished like that, particularly with MLP, as its essentially a sub-par old show trying to cash in on its much more successful successor. With Bionicle,however, it seems encouraging that this is happening. The sheer fact that Bionicle's return might be generating enough excitement that companies are dusting off the old movies pleases me.

Kalhiki, it seems highly likely that the toa have 2 size classes. If you look at Tahu's lower legs, they use hero 2.0 chest armour He is going to stand a lot taller than say, Gali, who seems to use much smaller shells.

I got into Bionicle way too late to buy any of the mata, but I think Pohatu and Onua will be the first of the new sets I pick up. (unless Pohatu has white instead of tan, in which case, he's getting dropped for Lewa :P)

Just found In my picture folder some screenshots of Bionicle.com, which must have taken in a panic when I first heard about it shutting down.XD Also, insert obligatory hype train comment here.

I just thought, do you reckon Lego will put "from the makers of hero factory characters" on the boxes like they did with Bionicle in HF's first year? I kinda want them to, just so I can see Bionicle purists' heads explode XD.

yeah,I can't seem to find Front's quote now. :/ Can't say I'll miss HF all that much, but I really wish they had resolved Von Nebula's escape, and the stolen Factory blueprints.

Didn't Front say that there were no plans to end HF any time soon? I realise that this is Front I'm talking about, so any post he makes could literally mean anything, but that seemed like one of his less ambiguous ones. It would be quite a lot of contstraction sets for Lego to release at once though. :/

according to some Russian Bionicle fans on youtube, Lewa's element was always jungle over there for some reason. :/

that smile is horrifying. o_0. One the new one, I can't really tell what the mask looks like. It looks almost Hordika-ish to me.

actually, those gold pieces are all copies of the respective Toas' masks, presumably to reference the 2002(?) storyline.

These are the people that gave us voltix. All bets are off regarding colour schemes XD. btw, I wasn't suggesting that jungle was a mistranslation, rather that the actual names weren't given, so the were improvised based on what was seen on the boxes.

I doubt Lewa's element has actually changed. These are preliminaries, so the person writing the set listing may have just seem the jungle-y background and written what he saw. For the same reason, I suspect the "defenders" may end up getting other names.

Pohatu looks like he has gold running up one arm, but that could be a trick of the light, and the tan you talk about on lewa looks gold to me (though it looks orange on the defender).

I see 2 shells on the upper torso, but what's the bit going down the middle? The only piece that looks remotely like that is the 1.0 foot, and I doubt they would use that :/. Time will ell I guess

next year,we already know this summer's sets. (wave 2 of invasion from below, e.g. queen beast).

Gali almost looks like she uses the trans-blue from stormer and frost beast. I also notice that the toa all seem to have their original eye colours... could this mean we're getting 6 different colours for the head under the masks? I certainly hope so. I was disappointed when Bionicle switched to just the trans neon yellow eyes for good guys. And yeah, It's possible summer will focus on villains if we're truly returning to Bionicle's structure.
