So I went to the local flea market as my LEGO addiction makes me do almost every Sunday. One of the places had a used 7702 Thunder Fury with instructions for ~14 USD. Now, that price is usually too high for me for used bricks, but it was the first time I have ever seen a first-wave exo-force mech and the TF just looks very cool live. I had to get it. Then I kept on walking and found one place in which they usually sell minifigs. This time , I noticed an iron drone standing on the green plate. As I was asking for the price I noticed there was another drone in the opposite side, so I was about to get both when the seller told me if I wanted more of them. It turns out she had 5 iron drones and 2 devastators, so I got them all for around 5 USD. I have recently gotten officially hooked by the exo-force robots' sets and the robot minifigs. It seems that the exo-force gods blessed me today, I really wanted a chance to army build the minifigs and it is always good to be able to get a robots' mech I didn't have before. Only complain is that two of my three new devastators are of the trans red kind, which is my least favorite, but I am nitpicking.

It's Prince of Persia's protagonist, whatever he is called. This video is truly amazing, the animation and the effects realy make it look well. What did you do with "explode"'s arms? I think those pieces have been customized.

REVIEW: Ninjago 30083: Dragon Fight
vexorian replied to pombe's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Heh, that dragonfly may not fit Ninjago but it is very cute and I think in regards to pieces it is superior to at least 2010's Creator impulses. I wouldn't mind getting a cute creator impulse plus a ninja for 3.49. I just hate that these polybag sets don't seem to arrive to this country. -
Series 1 Minifigures re-release! Lego store exclusive

But not in the least expensive set. It will be hard to mass it :) Sounds like the one in 5981: -
Series 1 Minifigures re-release! Lego store exclusive
vexorian replied to MCNwakeboard's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I think it is most likely that the elements added will be the same as the ones in the CM1. Else they wouldn't use CM1 for the advertisement. We do not know which actual elements, I doubt they will include all the new parts from CM1, but I bet that most of the new accessories will be available. As for torsos, heads and legs, that is unlikely - It would reduce the value of the CM1 figs as collectibles. I wonder if TLG will do this for every series, wait a year since their release and then make some of the series' elements available as exclusives. I hope this means the spaceman's gun is being mass produced and will be really easy to get at bl. -
Could it be that they were patented and the patent expired? Well, I don't know but that's plausible since Gundam toys seem to have been around for long enough to make it make sense. It is obvious now, but I don't recall anyone in the fandom suggesting it or finding out that's the way the gundam toys work.I just wish these bowling ball joints appear in the system joints as well. A lot of things about this wave are great, the look is a lot more compatible with system. The new build system is more 'flexible'. Even piece counts are much better than what Bionicle and HF 1.0 were delivering. My only rant would be the way the heroes look from behind. I just wish that in August, once my store gets 2011 sets, they bring the 2.0 wave and not just the 3.0 one (like they did last year, they didn't bring the stars :( ).

So, that's where all blacktron I figs were hiding.

CONTEST: Design a Direct-To-Consumer (D2C) set
vexorian replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
About the prizes, does it mean Eurobricks will go to S@H's site, buy the sets for you and ship them to you (no matter if you are in a S@H-blessed location or not) ? -
A request to TLG to start doing themed collectible minifigs.

Isn't the Dragon prison set as inexpensive as a set with something that resembles a castle can be? At 19.99 you get bricks (including gates and prison jails) for your castle, an armored horse, a cart thing, four minifigs. It is a weak set until you notice the price, imho. Edit: I just noticed that DaleDVM had already said basically the same thing. I am not a castle fan, I think this is the only set I will get from Kingdoms this year. Edit: That's until I saw the Blacksmith set. A hen, golden "crystal" (I guess it acts as unprocessed minerals), two fire things and a humongous amount of weapons.

Lego Universe - RIP?
vexorian replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Depends on the country. Where I live paying in cash is the norm and not the exception. So nobody really needs a credit card. Realizing that your family doesn't have any debt is a great feeling, but not being able to buy stuff internationally is kind of a hassle. -
Lego Universe - RIP?
vexorian replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I think something LEGO could do is turn the game free-er. It sounds like crazy business but it could be something like set purchases giving you a month's gameplay. Or even making it have no fees and be just a mega advertisement for LEGO. Yeah, far-fetched. -
Subjective. Squid launchers were pretty useless but the things on witch doctor's back are a more subjective issue, I am not sure if I would have preferred a more empty back, this messiness reminds me to actual witch doctors that do look like having some clothe mess. I am still not sure about how official the images are.

I think it is not reliable, and what happens is that your browser's cache makes you think it works (happened to my brother when he submitted the picture to the raffle thread, it seemed to work, but then when I used the computer with another OS it did not. Right now, the only reliable way is to use thumbnail links. Or to ask eurobricks to register their domain to imageshack. Edit: It seems not even thumbnail links work consistently enough. I refreshed my browser's cache and they stopped working.

Hmnn, image doesn't work for me, but it seems to work for Churchill. It is because of changes in imageshack policy. This is how it looks to me: Edit: Ok, I've seen the forum page. I think this happens when the person opts out to make his/her birth date a secret in the forum's options.

This is going to be OT, but it is sort of beginning to affect the site. I noticed it last night when my brother's entry to the raffee got turned into a frog. The frog is beginning to appear in some parts of the site, mainly some signatures. Because of browser caching, the people posting those images are not noticing. What happened is that just recently imageshack modified its terms and now for you to hot link images posted to them, the site in which the images are being posted must 'register' with imageshack. More info here: http://guidesandstuff.com/imageshack_picture_photo_problem_issue.html For example, JCC1004's looks wrong now with tons of frog and messages saying "domain unregistered". I would submit a screenshot, but imageshack no longer works. Edit: Ok, here is how his signature looks:

There is no need to rush in getting the results if real life has to be dealt with. However, if the deadline ended, I just think it would be better to close the thread, because a lot of people are posting in it without being aware that it did. Regarding the entries that were already posted after the deadline, that's a decision up to the staff.
-
Weren't the entries posted after Tabris' posted after the deadline ended? Or did I misunderstand "February 23rd 1 AM CST" ? I think the current time CST is ~11:00 AM, is this correct?

Worse, if you look carefully, Truck Optimus and robot Optimus are different sets. edit: Ok, not really. I just got confused by the way fbtb named the pics. Anyway, I found out the prices: http://tformers.com/transformers-toy-fair-2011-official-looks-at-kre-o-transformers/15147/news.html The piece/price ratios seem about equal to higher LEGO's o_O, you would have expected megabloks pricing, but I guess they expect parent fan boys to blindly buy them. Hasbro owns the brand. So in effects, the shows and movies are the ones licensing from Hasbro, not the other way along.

For real, the fighter jet alone is going to be a classic. Unless there are very hideous surprises only found in a review, I think the HQ is going to be one of those sets that you would really have to get if you are into space. I might actually get it if I manage to get enough money after massing alien sets (because I will mass alien sets).
-
I have over 9000 about 30 figs, I think.
-
I just wish the pics were still preliminary and TLG would add an alien gun to the smallest set. Just replace one of the joysticks with it. :) I would recommend the second smallest set, but its minifig has been a victim of the teeth plague. Note to TLG: People don't grin all day long, specially not when driving a buggy to war.

(click smaller images to get larger versions) Arax It is basically a mod of the Atlantis crab set. Well, basically the only things that are left intact from the crab are the legs. I was just experimenting with that crystal ball thing and noticed it looked like a great head for an evil robot, in my search for a body, I sacrificed the poor crab. It is a bounty hunter robot with two canons. Eliminator I wanted to make something of those gun metal pieces. I wish I had more because I really like this fellow and would be cool to have three of them. Blue Well, it is just a cute blue droid I adapted for the bounty hunter job by giving him a powerful, excessive plasma gun. The Mind Just one of many villains, probably the current leader of the UFO people.

4 eliminators Space mime has made his one last mistake. Four eliminator bots were sent against him. Made me notice I don't know how to take pictures. Close-up pics of some of the bots : http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=52348
