  1. It is small, but it is dense. I think this is preferable for us AFOLs to for example, the mothership which is very large but not very dense.
  2. I'll go and guess that the canisters are still the same size, aren't they? Boxes, specially the ultra thin ones that TLG have been making are not really that great for storage, a tupper is better, really. You will be able to find pieces more easily as well.
  3. The bar with the flat top is very common among large Bionicle guys. I like what I am seeing, and since the top of the tripod can become a cool UFO, I think the only non-small stuff from the bad guys I will get will be two or three of them. Even though it seems a little small for a 20.0 set.
  4. Jetrax99: Thanks for the pics. I think this will threaten to make design-by-me-esque stuff mainstream.
  5. I don't see the point of the dancer. It is like a clone of the singer with the mistakes that made the lifeguard look wrong (why couldn't they use a yellow torso and print the top instead of printing skin on a pink torso?, it would look so much better) The other are much better. Even the snowboarder is decent because of the printing on the snow board. I think the gladiator will have a great expression behind the mask. Still can't get over the lack of a coat or pipe in Sherlock Holmes, but at least the sideburns almost make up for it. I will be looking for the graduate, the new clown, godzilla and the cavewoman.
  6. More than only a sticker, the ship itself seems pretty inspired on his designs.
  7. It can't be helped. Megabloks lack of good designs and overt focus on cheapening things makes them unable to compete without getting licenses, so they will try and try very hard. I think we probably need less licenses. But I think that the Mickey mouse stuff is probably not a new thing for megabloks. TLG won Disney back last year and perhaps we will have the Mickey theme back. I would get non-construction toys for the licenses and non-licensed LEGO if she really likes the construction toy stuff. Overall I think that having a license is not a great reason to buy LEGO or clones. Specially because licensed tend to be more expensive.
  8. I think TLG are doing fine. What I would like to see one day is more of the old themes to be remade in a spin-off kind of way with fresher designs and a different story yet providing good tools to MoC and adapt the new sets to the old themes. Like it has happened Life on Mars, Space police and UFO.
  9. One of the reasons to overlook it in the review is that we have known about this tribute since the toy fair pics appeared. It is cool nonetheless. I'll be honest that I ended my dark ages after Nnenn left us, so I couldn't see much of his work, but it is nice that this happened.
  10. Although pics of the recon heroes are nice, I think it would also be interesting to see things like the packaging they come in and the instructions (if any).
  11. It is not just about movies, underestimating kids costs companies billions of dollars. It is good that there are companies like TLG and Pixar that don't. The throwbots' articulations were not outdated when they were released though. They were pretty revolutionary actually. They were sort of a leap back then.
  12. Oh boy, the minifigs in this set are definitely the best of the line. None of the humans is hit by grinning plague. The cyborg is so much better than the usual aliens because of the three-part head that doesn't have pink details. The badass mustache face is just something you have to have. I think I am definitely getting this one. Price is an issue but I have learned my lesson with the Galactic Enforcer, these are the kind of sets that you should not pass. My only nitpick would be that the original pics clearly had a trans yellow wind shield. I disagree with TLG about this change.
  13. Yay for cash sinks! ... Or not?
  14. Doh, wheels should never stick. This sounds like the oily tires quality issue is back :( (Or did it never leave us?) http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=30439
  15. There's no problem with having two reviews for the same set, you know. Yeah, it looks better without stickers. That's good.
  16. It is, if you watch the jetcopter (or is it the jet in the HQ?) closely, they have binoculars attached to one of these guns.
  17. Are you sure yours aren't trans light blue or trans dark/smoke? Peeron does not seem to acknowledge they exist: http://www.peeron.com/inv/parts/2447 . If so, do you remember the sets they came from?
  18. There go my hopes for the small set to have an alien gun. It would have been an excellent set if it had one. Even without it, it is a great set. But I sometimes don't get TLG.
  19. I think that for long the main intention of the small sets was to give us minifigs and useful parts so that we could buy on impulse. In that regards, I couldn't have any complaints. There are two of the new guns, the sci fi gun in a new silver, and the trans blue thing is just too nice. The minifigs are good too. Even though the more I see the brain of the aliens the more it looks to me as hideous detail excess, and I don't really like the glasses print of that fig, they look very strange. The ADU uniform is useful though.
  20. If the box smaller than usual for sets of the size?
  21. Meh. I just hope the sets look good without stickers, if not I will not buy the medium-large ones. I've seen the designs of the large UFO and the tripod and they would require very large stickers and that is something I am not going to apply.
  22. We are in the middle of April, really. Back in this early 2010 did we ever have a clue about what was going to happen? Even so, most themes last three waves without prior warning ie: SP3, Atlantis, Power Miners, Agents... Even if there is a fourth wave. We would still not be sure there would be a fifth. So I think that the worries about the X.0 naming are currently looking too much forward into the future.
  23. We are probably rushing things out, I am not even sure it will get another wave in the first place.
  24. Those printed windows are going to be very useful in micro mocs anyway. If LEGO has other good ideas to copy from clones, I'll be happy to see it happen.
  25. the exo suit looks cool. But I get annoyed by lack of mobility, even though it makes sense since it is a blacktron MoC. The vehicle is just great, those big guns really make sense and the blocky design of the front just fits. They also look like a scary army. I wish I had more blacktron torsos.
