  1. No offense, but I don't think Lego has a lot of competition from Mega Block and Best Lock's. Both of those are cheap knock-offs of Lego's, and don't offer any real competition to the Lego. Also, Lego has had other space lines during the time Star Wars has been a theme. The Mars line comes to mind, and I think there might be one or two others. The Skull set and the Police set were not "test balloons" for a new space theme. They were sets designed by fans that Lego decided to produce by themselves. There were no plans of ever creating a theme off of those sets.
  2. I figure I mine as well be the first to mention it, so here goes. I buy all my Legos from S@H. It is easy, convenient, and reliable. I do have a store in my state, so I have to pay tax, which is unfortunate.
  3. No offense, but these pics have been floating around for about the last 5 pages. Please read a few pages back before you post. Thanks Now, back on topic. I think it would be great if these helmets were released. Considering the fact that they just came out with new helmets, I think the chances are unlikely.
  4. I am usually pretty hesitant when it comes to shows on ABC (the only one I watch is Lost), but this show is actually really good. The plot is totally original, and why there are some classic character cliches (recovering alcoholic and other things) I really like the structure and story. I also like how they have brought in former members of Lost.
  5. While I don't feel the need to cut people up, it would be nice to be able to cut through more things with a lightsaber. On many FPS games these days you can destroy structures with your guns. Why not your lightsaber?
  6. While that is true, they are pretty weak FPS games. They are really Jedi games and are designed for you to play as a Jedi.
  7. Sorry, but how is a topic on future Lego Video Games the same as a topic about FPS Star Wars games? Just wondering? Anyway, I agree that the CW is aimed more at kids, so a FPS is stretching it a little. However, the new Republic Heroes game is rated Teen. Also, if they kept the game in the animated form, they could eliminate the blood and realism that makes most FPS games Mature.
  8. I just recently purchased the new Republic Heroes video game, and I have to say that it is pretty much worthless. However, it got me thinking about Star Wars video games. Specifically, the lack of decent FPS games. While Republic Commandos was a really great game, there have not been any other decent shooter Star Wars games. I know a lot of people loved the Battlefront games, but I personally am not a big fan. The Clone Wars tv series is a great opportunity for them to make a great game. It could still be animated, but with more of a Republic Commando style of gameplay. I think that Lucasarts problem is that they focus too much on Jedi games. While being a Jedi is great, being a clone grunt in multiple CW battles would be great. Look at COD. You are a simple soldier in most of those, and they are amazing games. Also, instead of simply following the movies, they could creates new battles and environments unseen before. I would love to hear your thoughts on this.
  9. I like how Lego has a little bit more balance between the OT and PT/Clone Wars with these sets. The past couple releases have been heavy on the Clone Wars and very light on the OT.
  10. This would be a great set and I think that Lego has a great start here. I believe that the outside of the base, or the temple, needs be bee tweaked some.
  11. I really enjoyed this set. It was great to get a little variety with the Tie Fighters and get a ship that was only seen briefly in ROTJ.
  12. I guess Lego decided to go out with a bang with the Pirate theme. This is really a great looking ship. Although I don't have any Pirate sets, I might have to pick this one up for display purposes.
  13. Dude KimT just asked not three posts ago to stop commenting on the prices. And yet you are still commenting on them. It doesn't matter if you aren't ranting and raving about them. One comment can start a whole argument.
  14. After looking at the prelim. pictures of the Imperial BP, I really hope they change the Imperial Commander. The helmet does not match the color of the torso, which personally bothers me. Plus, the torso is just he generic Imperial commander. They should create a new General Veers/AT-AT commander torso. Other than that, it looks good. The speeder does look kind of weird though.
  15. You really do need an HDTV to enjoy Blu-Ray. If your TV cannot support 1080P then the Blu-Ray is simply not worth it. He isn't worried about scratching his disks. He is simply saying that the fact that Blu-Ray disks will not scratch is not a deciding factor for him. Now that I know he doesn't have an HDTV, I totally understand why he will not buy a Blu-Ray player.
  16. Lego is only ever going to make games based off of licenses that they hold. I have a feeling that all of these are simply too mature to be Lego games. Lego does not promote war or excessive violence. Personally, I think that the Lego video games are poorly done. This is just my opinion, but I think the camera angles are terrible and the controls are hard to use.
  17. I don't want to argue with you or try to convince you that you are wrong, but I personally love Blu-Ray. I think that there is a huge difference. Of course, if you are still using on old box TV that is in no way HD, I can see why you don't want to buy one or see the difference. Ok, so I already have a Blu-Ray player, and I love it. While I expect Star Wars to come out on Blu-Ray, I don't think it will be anytime soon. The reason is that when it is released, I am guessing it will be completely remastered with crazy special features and maybe even a few more scenes inserted. And all of that will take a few years. Personally, I see Blu-Ray as an intermediate technology between DVD's and either everything being downloaded or movies on thumb drives or SD cards. With things like the Apple TV and Netflix streaming online, actually buying and renting physical copies of movies is going to become obsolete. And while it will probably take another 5-10 years before the transition, it will happen. Still, I would suggest getting a Blu-Ray player. While the movies are $15-20 more than regular DVD's, it is worth it. I would really suggest getting a PS3. I have heard it is one of the best Blu-Ray players. And, for only $300 you get the player and gaming system. PS: While saving them on your DVR is a good idea, if you are recording them on channels like Spike there will be commercials and things cut from the film. These days you can get the PT and OT box sets for cheap.
  18. I have a feeling this is nothing but Lego's attempt to sell more stuff. With how few Castle sets were released this year and the fact that we have not seen anything about new ones next year, I have a feeling the Castle theme with be discontinued along with the Pirate theme in 2010.
  19. While this is an interesting list, it really will mean nothing to me until the movie comes out. With that being said my curiosity is piqued.
  20. I would not be surprised if the AT-AT was Mid-Scale. I really like what lego did with the Falcon and I have a feeling they are going to continue making some of the bigger Star Wars vehicles Mid-Scale.
  21. Very nice. I like how you incorporated the Evolution idea that Hasbro has into your Lego Battle Pack. I really like Vaders mini-meditation chamber. It adds something to the set without being too big.
  22. While I don't know of one on other sites, if you go to the Star Wars Forum Index you will find a link to topics containing pictures of the minifigures. While it is not done yet, they have a great start. Because you are new I won't get on you too much, but before you post look around for an answer.
  23. While I like the actual sets, I kind of have a hard time with the minifigs. I was afraid that Lego was going to make this line too much like a little kids line, and to me they have with the huge minifigs.
  24. It is great that Lego finally decided that a set does not need 20 stickers. I do have a few complaints though. Why did Lego waste valuable interior space with that dumb little cart for the rebel trooper? Also, why did they only include 5 figures. For a set with that high of a price, it needs a few more figures. While I like the Antilles and the engines, I am not going to be buying this one. Also, it really stinks that your hair got messed up.
  25. The landspeeder looks great. And considering we haven't had one since the original back in 1999, this is a great improvement. The ARC Fighter looks ok. From the picture released it looks an awful lot like the last one.
