  1. Soren shrugged. Someday. The pilot turns to Zaria. I reckon their plan is to funnel everyone to engineering either to leave the train open to their search, or so that whoever or whatever their looking for is guaranteed to be in engineering. It's kind of a gamble either way; I'm tempted to leave someone to guard engineering but it's pro'lly best we stick together at this point and push forward.
  2. Question: how public are the readouts for the Boreal Express? Could someone plan an attack around shuffling everyone to engineering?
  3. Soren pockets the credits without a thought. He owes me for the drink, he reasoned to himself. He paused a moment longer on the other objects. He confessed to liking the Quarm... but a job was a job. And they wouldn't know Soren had come by anyways. Soren takes the journal and key, stuffing them into his jacket, and then follows behind Zaria.
  4. Soren looks first for the drink Kish was supposed to order him. Then, thinking more about Kish’s state, Soren searches the Quarm.
  5. It's gotten worse, Soren says again dryly, rising out of his seat. He tries to cross forward into the Dining Car.
  6. Soren squints, legitimately baffled at Yelana's line of questioning. What kind of projection-? I already told you that! It's in engineering! Is that what you're so pissed about? I knew it was Blackguard because I looked at it and it had the big B insignia in it. Stars. I didn't see the need to waste your time with pointless details. And that's it. I got info out of the Quarm - info I already shared, by the way, and then I went to engineering. Zaria's had an eye on me the whole damn time. I've answered all of your questions, would you answer ours for once?
  7. I see the Eurobricks censors are up and working again.
  8. What are you on? I found the drone. It's Blackguard property. That means things are worse. Soren waves his arms around the train. It's worse. What else exactly do you want to know? And don't pretend I'm an idiot. There's no reason for the people boarding to come after us, unless we keep drawing attention to ourselves like this. Or by pickpocketing our teammates and running around the train checking on stowaways - you want to run me past the part where you stole from Zaria apparently? I've noticed my own account's been a bit lighter, too. So don't pretend you've been any more generous than I have. Holy shit. Hey, Miss Superspy, have you been ratting us out to Blackguard this whole time? While you've been running off and avoiding everyone and stealing from us, I guess? Let me flip this back on you one more time - what the megabluck is going on?
  9. What happened is that Zaria found me and communicated, which seems to be a novel concept to you. Stars - Abam was just a stowaway. We have no reason to believe someone too poor for a train ticket has any interest in an infinite power supply. 'Sides, it doesn't matter how the drone got on board, or who's paying for Blackguard, They could have their own interests for all we know. What matters is what we do now. You're overthinking it. As per usual. If Blackguard takes the cube, fine by me - we have Oc|Tan's information, we just need to keep it safe until this trip is over. Then we all get paid. The cube is a bonus I have zero interest in at this point.
  10. Alright, enough of the sass - in what world were things 'fine'? Did you miss the spy drone and the spacecraft tailing us before you ran off on your own? What exactly did you think you were doing, anyways? I would love an answer to that question. What is going on, Yelana?
  11. That I did. It’s still there, actually. There is definitely some outside interference going on, the’ngineers were reporting a drag on the engine’s efficiency. It looks like we’ve got a third party in the mix, and I think I have a solid guess as to who. Soren lowers his voice, keeping an eye on Yelana to see how the spy would react to his revelation. I took a close look at the drone - it’s Blackguard tech.
  12. Then do that, Soren ordered. Even as he spoke a worst-case scenario blossomed in his mind - what if they searched him and found the documents? Or worse, what if they stumbled on whatever it was Yelana was doing in the back? Whatever happens, happens. He gave a nod to the Circet’s advice and retreated back into business class. Spotting Zaria meditating, he sat down beside her. It’s gotten worse.
  13. Yeah, it's been a wild ride with a lot of moving parts and I'm very much looking forward to seeing how it all falls into place!
  14. Soren freezes upon seeing the insignia. ...Blackguard? It had to be, right? But what in the stars would they want with the train? Unless they were on M-Tec's trail... The pilot glanced up at the engineering staff, debating whether to let them in on his find. He absently felt at the documents in his jacket pocket - they had all the information they needed. Now, they just needed to get off the train alive. Standing up, a thousand thoughts flew his mind as he tried to find the cleanest route through this mess. Alright, he said, turning to the engineers again. What are the security protocols on this ride like? How heavily can we lock down the train?
  15. Well something sounded like it touched down on the roof. Best I can bet is that there's some sort of ship attached to us or following close behind, and this drone is the eyes and ears. Soren looks closer at the drone, trying to determine its manufacturer.
  16. As I said, there is a legitimate threat to this train aboard, and I'd like the lot of you to take me a dash more seriously. Soren side-eyes the human engineer. Now, what can you tell me? Does the Boreal Express have any enemies you can think of? Who's crawling all over this train? And what do you know of those lights and such?
  17. Soren gives an unflappable shrug. The Steward didn't seem much interested. 'Pparently didn't notice all the flashing lights and whatnot, somehow. Yeah, what of it? Soren was about to reply to the Circet when he spotted the drone again. That's the one! he exclaims, and fires a bolt of freezing energy in hopes to stop it in its tracks. Now ma'am, I don't know what questions you feel I haven't answered, but I'm sure this could explain a thing or too.
  18. I'm sorry, would you have preferred it if I didn't come to you about an emergency? This seemed like the sort of thing you'd want to know, so I acted fast. Drastic times and measures, and all that. As he grows aware of his surroundings, Soren tries to gain insight on how truthful the engineer is. That's still an awful lot for a stress test, especially with passengers on board. 'Not exactly how I would treat a new pair of wings, but you're the professional here, so what do I know? Yeah, you're using Qavoron crystals, right? How do they stack up against the old guard? Soren settles a little into the conversation, enjoying being able to talk shop with somebody, and hoping the one engineer might stick up for him a little if the human presses any further.
  19. I'm a... concerned traveler. The drone was small, 'looked like it was able to shapeshift or somet'ing like that. 'Not sure what it was doing, but it looked suspicious. Also, you were boosting at 200? Won't that wear our the enginges? What was so important that you were in such a rush?
  20. In my mind, Soren would prefer the direct approach - but forgot that he does literally have a hacking chip and Entropic Mending for this exact sort of scenario. Uh, hey. Minor emergency here. There's been a lot of screwy things going on with this train and I'd like some answers. I heard you were the folks to talk to. Would y'all happen to know anything about passing blinding lights, a drone shifting down the length of the train, or the thrusters that appear to have touched down on our roof?
  21. Damnit, Soren thought, watching Zaria make a scene. They didn't have anything resembling a plan, and any movement at this point could become disastrous. The engineer didn't appear to be stepping out, which would have given Soren a chance to sneak in. And it didn't look like time was a factor on their side. He would have to do something now. His hand was still on his gun. Shooting the lock would attract a lot of undue attention, but maybe, if he was lucky... Soren flips the gun around and tries to quietly break the lock with the butt of the weapon.
  22. Nothing particularly legal. We might be able to get the steward from the economy car to give us a hand, but I reckon we're already stretching his good graces a little thin. Soren feels at the gun against his hip, wondering if there truly were no better ways around this. The cars were soundproof, after alll...Soren glances around the cabin, checking if anyone was cognisant of them.
  23. Damn. This party's getting a little crowded for my tastes. 'You think other folks are after this power source? The pilot mused for a moment. I'm not about leaving a job half-finished. Let's go to engineering, see if we can't find anything.
  24. Soren squinted, not fully tracking. To do what, exactly?
  25. It was small, 'bout a yea big, 'might have been able to shapeshift? It could fit under the doors. You didn't notice it?
